I have updated my Iphone 3gs operating system but it no longer recognises my sim card, any help please?!
I've been hppily usingtoday until about half an hour ago!!!
It updated the O/S, then I went about connecting to I-Tunes, after a while it flashed up on I-Tunes "There is no SIM card installed in the I-Phone you are attempting to activate - please disconnect and try again..."
I've tried taking it out an dputting it back in several times!!
The phone now just says "no service"..

If your iphone has been unofficially unlokced then it will indeed be locked when updated. Is this the case?

Your iPhone was hacked to unlock it. Now that you have updated it has cleared that hack and is locked with the original cell provider. Call AppleCare and give them the model and serial number and they can tell you the cell provider it is locked with. Then contact that cell provider and see what their unlock policy is and if you qualify.

I have updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5 from 4.1 and it has locked back to the orginal sim card in america but as i live in ireland an american simcard wont work here is there any way i can unlock ios 5 or delete it off my iphone and go back to 4.1 so i can use my iphone ?
It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone. When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this. -

Try resetting the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You will not lose any data as a result of the resets. -

If you have an iTunes backup that includes the photos you may be able to extract them from the backup using a 3rd party utility such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

please help :-(That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

Everytime i try to update my iphone 3gs it downloads but then cancels halfway but not the full file. When i download 6.1.3 from various sites i receive an error (3194). I've been trying to troubleshoot it now for weeks. Also i can't copy songs music photo's or anything on it as well. Help would be highly appreciated please and thank you.
