I have Windows Vista. I have tried to import my favorites from Internet Explorer but it won't import it just says it has stop functioning & will send report to Microsoft.
I have a lap top with Windows 7 & I was able to import my favs with no problem, so wondering if it is the Vista that is doing it
It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
* Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

I just downloaded Firefox 3.6 and followed the instructions for importing Favorites from Internet Explorer. Firefox said the import was successful, but the Favorites do not appear at the bottom of the Bookmarks menu (below "Mozilla Firefox") as shown in the Support instructions. Where can I access my Favorites?

i have tried to restore my iPad from my computer, but it stops ones it gets to the stage where it is updating the firmware. It will then display " there was an unknown error.....Any suggestion to fix this,?

Firefox will not import all of the favorites from Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 64-bit OS!
There is another post about this problem in the forum, but the answer does not work. This is the first time I've ever encountered this problem when installing/using Firefox on my desktop PC. I have a new (3/25/14) Dell XPS 8700 desktop tower with Windows 8.1 64-bit (and now Update 1) installed, along with Internet Explorer 11. I previously had a 2005 Dell Dimension 5100 desktop tower running XP Pro SP3 32-bit, which never had any issues running Firefox, but has since died. I used to run Firefox as my default browser, but not any longer. Now, during the install process, Firefox asks if you want to import from Internet Explorer, as it has always done before. I chose yes, and it reported that it pulled everything in from IE. However, it only imported my favorites folders whose names start with a numeral, and then A, B, and onward down the alphabet, but it doesn't import anything more after getting to the folders whose names start with E. So, all of my remaining Favorites folders whose names start with F, G, and forward down the alphabet from there are all absent from Firefox's Bookmarks. I also tried importing the favorites after installing Firefox, which I don't prefer since Firefox installs a folder called Internet Explorer to go to first to get to your favorites. However, still, Firefox only brought in my favorites folders from A to E, and stopped there again. I do not see any way to export my favorites from Internet Explorer (there is no import/export option under favorites, nor anywhere else in IE 11). Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox resulted in the same problem, even after making sure to delete my settings, etc., in the process. Please update Firefox's installation executable so it's able to import ALL of Internet Explorer 11's favorites folders and their contents, complete, as it has always done before. Please contact me when the corrected executable to install Firefox properly is ready for download. Thank you.

If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

I have installed Firefox today, and like the look of and the speed. But I have an extensive set of foldersin my IE Favorites and remebered passwords I don't want to have to reimput.
I have now tried twice folowing "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer " which seemed to go smoothly, once with IE open and the other with it closed, and closed down my PC between each attempted installation. Had AVG free version. After Firefox updated to the newest version, AVG Secure Search results are the default. I have researched the issue for the past 3 days and have tried every option available on forums, etc. Nothing seems to work. This is very annoying and I'm about ready to switch to google chrome.
I ended up finding a solution.....went to Firefox tab on top left of browser screen. Went to help, restart with add-ons disabled. This takes you to the Firefox Safe Mode text box. Select "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults. This seems to have worked, as there is no longer an AVG Secure Search directed screen. Also, I installed Avast. Have had it on my tower PC and another laptop for 2 years with no issue. Screw AVG!!!

I was using AOL 9 with Internet Explorer and saved 15oo Youtubes as "favorites". I changed to Firefox and upgraded to AOL 10 - my favorites now appear as bookmarks but they aren't arranged in groups (guitar, drums, blues, country, lessons...etc.) and there aren't names to identify them. Do I have to delete all of them and start afresh and if si - how do I delete some of them?

I have tried a zillion times to update itunes to 10.5.2 but it won't work. Under the "About iTunes" section it says that I'm still using itunes 10.4. What I'm really trying to do is update my iphone 4 software but itunes says I can't do that without first updating the itunes software, which it won't let me do. Anyone know how to fix this? Much appreicated.
Look at the system preferences for iTunes 10.5.3. Are you running 10.5.x (Leopard) or later? If you are then please repost in the iTunes for Mac forum.

I'm trying to uninstall Firefox because it won't open. I uninstalled twice now from the control panel. Then I went to trouble shooting. It said to open %appdata% then open Mozilla and delete firefox. When I did that the error message was that I needed permission from owner to delete. I'm the owner. Not sure what to do next. I need firefox for my work

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. I have done what they say but I still cannot get on-line like I was able to about a week ago.
Do you have any suggestions?This has been fixed in Firefox 3.6.15, use the "Check for updates" option in the Help menu to install it.
