Does the frame persist after closing and re-opening Aperture?

To post a screen shot, you first take it, them upload it. To take them, I use and recommend Skitch -- one of the best little apps ever. But this ability is built into OS X. Use Grab or Preview (search OS X Help for full directions). In Preview, use "File→Take screen shot ... →From selection ... ". Save the file in Preview to your drive. In the Discussion forum click the "Insert Image" icon (a camera) and select the file you created in Preview.

Has anyone else had the following problem with Spell Tower? I was in the middle of a game in Puzzle mode on my iPhone and had passed the 63,000 point mark. I paused the game (as I had many times before). When I tried to resume the game, the game had vanished without any record. My wife had a similar problem in Tower Mode. In addition, the Apple support page says that, to report an issue, one should click on a specified link at the bottom of the information page for the App in question. There are two separate issues here.
1. There is a potential problem with the game Spelltower. That needs to be discussed directly with Spelltower. My attempted emails to Spelltower have been bounced.
2. Apple, on its own webpage, purports to establish a procedure for reporting an issue with an app. But that procedure does not work with Spelltower because someone at Apple neglected to include a link on the relevant information page. I have been trying to find that contact info without success. Apple should take ownership of supplying that contact info. -
Compressor white frame at the end of WMP
I want to use compressor and flipformac to produce my windows media files. I have 50 clips to move so I wanted to take advantage of the automation.
Every clip it finishes as a wmp9 using the flipForMac quicktime plugin has a white frame at the end of it. Any way to get rid of that?
I downgraded my flipformac to the 1.0.2 from the 2.0 that is there current release because of a known bug that causes floating green chroma crap to appear on the wmp doc. I also tried using Sorrenson Squeeze to batch, but Sorrenson can't compress 720p codec footage that is the DVCPRO HD codec. (again, known bug they are working on). I tried downconverting the HD footage to SD and having compressor do it and still .... white frame. So then I tried cleaner... it just crashes... I hate cleaner.
sorry for the rant... can anyone help.Is there a chance your source footage has the same white frame before you encode it? I've never seen this problem.
As far as flip4mac, there is a work around in the current version to avoid the green monster. With a Two Pass VBR Constrained, set your Peak Bit Rate to 1.5x. This makes your encode closer to a CBR, but eliminates the compression artifacts. Also in the advanced settings, a shorter Key Frame frequency will improve overall quality.
Sorry I'm not more help with the white frame. What version of Compressor are you using? I've done close to 100 encodes in the last month and haven't encountered this. What are your source files? Quicktime out of FCP? Reference files? -
I was just scrolling through my apps when the screen suddenly froze. A force shutdown didn't work and when I pressed the silent on/off button, there was no vibration either. The frozen screen faded to white with a few lines and about 10 minutes later, the edges started to turn black, forming a ring which got larger till about 4 hours later, the screen turned completely black. I tried connecting to iTunes but it wasn't detecting the phone and I can't do anything with it now... When it turned completely black, I charged it and after a while, the low batt screen came on but it was fuzzy and flickering with the white ring... What to do know ???????
Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.

Just updated to lion and my cctv access has stopped functioning all I get is a white screen in the middle of the control panel where the camera shots should be. I think it is caused by JAVA but am confused as when i view on snow leopard it works can you help
Open "Java Preferences" either from spotlight or your utilities folder...it's probably going to say you need to install a java runtime. Then just click install!

for some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store. my old iphone 4s audio jack was messed up but i just got a new one with my warranty , can anyone help me please.
It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over. -
I just got a new phone today the iphone 5c and i plugged it into itunes. i wanted to get all of my data from my iphone 4s but when i synced my phone all of my iphone 3 data was on my new phone how do i get my iphone 4 data on my new phone?
Did you choose the wrong back up? There should be a drop box when you go to "Restore from Back up" in iTunes and your iPhone is plugged in, on the Summary page. Choose the correct back up. If you can't find one, and you still have your device, back up your iPhone 4 again and then choose that back up. Or check for an old iCloud back up if you have one.

I just got my refurb iPad in the mail. I am trying to set it up, but i am getting this error message " iTunes could not back up the ipad because the backup was corrupt or not compatable with the ipad. Delete the backup for this ipad. Then try agian." How do I do that?
It sounds like the iPad wasn't erased to me. If the iPad is totally cleared of content, there should be nothing on it and no backup to create.
Without connecting the iPad to your computer - Launch iTunes on you computer and go to Edit>Prefences>Devices. Do you see an iPad backup in there? If you do see it, delete it. -

I just got a refurbished iPod 5th generation 32gb. This morning I went to turn it on and it didn't do anything and kept the black screen. I tryed to turn it on but it didn't do anything. The day before it had looked weird, as in I was downloading an app and it powered down, the when I tryed to turn it back on it got red and green lines on it. Should I send my ipod in to Apple so they can fix it or can I do this myself?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. Or send it to Apple

Exporting mp4 adds white frame to the end
Every time I export an mp4 I'm getting an added white frame at the very end of the video. I'm using the render queue and exporting with the windows media setting in the adobe media exporter. I've tried shortening my comp but that doesn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks for responding. I'm using the standard H.264 export settings from AE. It doesn't occur when using QTs Mp4 settings but the quality that I'm getting from that is pretty bad which is why I started using the H.264 exporter in AE. The other thing I liked about it was the file size to quality ratio. I also don't think the mp4s will stream in flash, which is what the final goal is with the files. I have tried changing the settings so that my duration is an even time like 23:00 seconds.
I see this issue in various places on the internet and I'm not sure what is causing it.

Compressor adding white frames at the head of the movie converted
i used compressor to convert footage from mp4 to Apple prores 1024x576 16x9 and also change different frame rates to 25 fps
I resized all the big videos to 1024x576 and maintained the smaller videos like 640x360 in its original size as i will composite them together to maintain quality.
everything went well as compressor makes a very good job in resizing and frame rate coversion.
i noticed that compressor added at the head of the movies a white frame on most of the converted movies
and after importing the movies to fcp 6 i found that every time i use a movie with a white frame in the head Fcp crashes.
is it because of the frame rate as i noticed that the white frames are in the movies with for example 23.98 that were conformed to 25.
i cannot edit because of fcp quits.What do you have the most of? 1920, 1280, SD?
What is the final deliveable? web, broadcast, blu-ray, SD DVD?
Maintaining the aspect ratio can be done in your sequence settings whether your sequence is HD or SD.
640x360 will still only fill about 1/2 of the 1280x720 screen at 100%.
You can scale it to fill the screen but you will take a quality hit.
In most cases putting 1920 in a 1280 sequence isn't going to make the baby jesus of quality cry.
In my experience upscaling SD outside of FC in another program doesn't usually help with quality.
I do the scaling in FC and know that I will have to render. I would still use Compressor for the frame rate codec conversion but do not change the source size unless you are converting to a more friendly broadcast size.
You may want to consider that SD footage doesn't have to fill the entire screen.
You can do other treatments to the footage so that you still fill the entire screen but the actual footage isn't being scaled to fill the entire screen. Blurred footage, stills, etc for a background can help with this. -

iTunes is just the program.
Your music is on the old computer, and whatever you used to back up your old computer, but if what you bought is still available from iTunes you can download it again.
Here is the procedure for your reference. This assumes what you purchased is still available in the Store:
Launch iTunes and click on iTunes Store on the left
On the right you will see this
Sign in with your Apple ID, then click on "Purchased" (with the orange blob)
On the summary page that appears select the tab "Not on This Computer" on the right.
On the list that appears, select what you want and then click the "Download" button.
For music that you did not purchase from iTunes, import it into your existing iTunes Library using whatever means you originally used to obtain it. -
White box in the middle of my page??
'm using Dreamweaver CS4. When I design my page, I have changed the background settings to black. However, in EVERY browser I have tested the site in, the page shows up with black on the left and right sides of the page but all of my content is in a big white box in the middle. How do I change that part, or get rid of it? I've got the coding for the black background in the page properties under CSS and HTML.
Code? Page link? Can't help unless we see what's going on. It might just be that your container table/div has a white background assigned to it.
