I updated to Firefox 8.0 for Mac and when ever I try to log on to Facebook I get this error message Textarea Backup] Existing text detected in 'add_comment_text', overwrite with this backup? and then it says yes and gives you the choice of either canceling or ok and it doesn't go away when you click either button...What is going on?

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

I received an update and the error message went away, I went to load Facebook today and the error message [Textarea Backup] Existing text detected in 'xhpc_message', overwrite with this backup? is back and when you click on cancel or ok...Facebook freezes up

It is the Page Tweak Add-on... It is what has the Textarea Backup. I removed it and my facebook works fine now.

I (Apple store) have just installed version 10.4.11 on my MAC OS X. I want to upgrade Firefox browser from version to 2.0 to the highest available for my version of MAC.
Note: It is an E-MAC

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

Upgraded to the latest edition of firefox, not one of my plugins or addons are now working or showing upp but there are in my lists of plugins and addons

did the update to 3.6.14 on reboot i now have NO add ons or plugins showing up anywhere. they are in my list of downloads and i can updte them if i want but nothing showing on the browser itself

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I'm using Apple product since 1984. I remember very well the first machine I used, an Apple MacIntosh Plus! I've been always proud of my many Apple's products: computers, iPods, iPads, Apple Tvs and so on.
Now I'm very sorry for what it's happening in these days (and never happened before!). Apple has released the latest version of iPad/iPhone OS (iOS 6) and Mac Os X (v10.8.2). The results are that I cannot sync my devices (iPhones/iPads) with iTunes. Every pictures I took during many years of activity disappeared from my devices.
I'm expecting a new patch from Apple, but I'm very sorry because this great and glorious factory is now very similar to Microsoft ...

The current version may be obtained at the App Store. If you have an older version installed, then it should be available in Updates. The new version will not work with Snow Leopard.

Don't save. Close the documents.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Pages 5 will damage/alter older files, something Apple didn't tell its users.
Pages 5 is a severely stripped down version with over 90+ features removed.
We recommend trashing/archiving Pages 5 after Exporting any files you may have saved back to Pages '09.
Also rate/review Pages 5 in the App store.

Have just upgraded to the latest iWeb and find that when I upload pages with slideshows (via ftp) the slideshows are not showing up at all on-line. Any ideas?

Try using the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option and if that doesn't work you may have to publish your site to a folder on your hard drive and upload the site folder with a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck.

Try one or more of the following:
> Restart Your Computer
> Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
> Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
There will be no audio output in safe mode. The question to be answered by the test is whether any devices are listed in the Sound preference pane. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
