I keep being redirected to mobile versions of most sites even though I'm using my desktop...Help!

For some reason recently, my computer has decided that I'm always using a mobile device and I keep getting redirected to mobile versions of websites. I do use my phone to broadcast a wifi hotspot but I had been using it for months with no issue to the webpages until just a few weeks ago. Most times I can go to the bottom of the page and change it back to desktop but it never keeps it that way. I have run into the issue with my yahoo and aol mail where the mail page won't load at all so I can't change it to desktop nor can I see my mail. I can't figure out how to stop this from happening and it's becoming increasingly frustrating to not be able to view my mail on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Is it possible to copy the format from the desktop version without re-designing all the elements?

Different renditions will use require the page elements to be optimized accordingly.
So you can surely copy the page elements and paste in phone or tablet layout , but you would need to modify them.

I'm working on CC 2014 on a mobile version of a site, having trouble with order of layers and links not working.

I'm working on CC 2014 on a mobile version of a site, my links on layers that are below the top layer (call menu) are not working. If I move the layers above the menu layers the links work, but then the menu appears under the graphic and other elements on the site.

I'm having this issue right now. I would LOVE some help. Did you get it figured out?

However, sometimes I end up on a mobile version of a site for no apparent reason. I've read that it may be due to my User Agent which currently looks like this:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 1058; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.19.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.3 Safari/533.19.4
This doesn't happen on all sites, but does happen on the same sites every time. Any ideas on a fix?

your UA looks fine, although a few sites do fail to recognise PPC macs properly... so if you change yours in Safari- Develop -User Agent- Other (alter PPC to Intel), you know that's why.
Otherwise, delete the cookies for those sites in Safari-Preferences-Security - Show Cookies

Thanks. I don't know why it wouldn't just go back there when I tried putting it back? I didn't change anything, so I assumed the new "default" was over on the left. Glad it was a simple solution after all.

I can see that you are not using the latest build, which was done on 5/27 (you are running a 5/23 build).
I don't quite understand the problem you are having with software update (please elaborate), but try this:
After closing Firefox, Remove the files in the ''updates'' and ''updates\0'' folder:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\
Then try the update again.
If that fails, download the latest from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html and install it.

Without exact system info and version info nobody can tell you anything. From failed updates to simple compatibility issues and one of the machines not meeting the requirements for a newer version this could be anything.

You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. Just downloaded Mountain Lion and now Safari keeps directing me to mobile version of website

For what ever reason this only happens when I go to one specific site (audiusa.com). I have posted on an audi forum and I appear to be the only one having this issue. Also, I can use the site correctly via google chrome on my Mac and PC.
This leads me to believe that there is a Safari setting that I must be missing. Any help is appreciated.

This helped. But for whatever reason, the "default" user agent keeps sending it to mobile site. I changed the user agent to google (mac) and it works that way.

Since loading 5 I keep being redirected to sites I don't want instead of going where I ask; firefox prevents some, but I feel like I am undar a denial of service attack.

Problem started with download of Firefox 5. It is now almost impossible to follow a link or perform a search with any search engine without being redirected to other sites.

How could you have upgraded your IOS and be on IOS 7.0.6? I'm skeptical about your movie claim - my guess is that you were unknowingly streaming them from the getgo unaware that they weren't on your iPad. I suppose there may be an "escape clause" in Apple's update routine that is invoked when a device doesn't have enough memory to carry out an update whereby movies are swapped out to hoover up more memory. Personally I've never heard of this occurring In Apple World. Why does your cheap phone outperform your iPad "in every category"? There's no good reason - you obviously have numerous issues that are easily resolvable if you follow Philly's advice.

The home page opens unfinished, keep being redirected to unwanted add pages.

When Firefox opens my home page ( Fox News ) the page doesn't finish. Some of the page is still in what I would call (code) and there are large blank spaces between articles.
When the home page is opening it often gets redirected to unwanted pages. If I right click on the green back arrow the word redirect is one of the lines there.
I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. No change.
I opened Fox News in Google Chrome and it loaded OK.

I'm not sure why you are being redirected but here are some thoughts:
(1) In case your preference for .us is stored in a cookie -- rather than an account setting -- try clearing cookies for the site (this likely will terminate your session, so save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* click the globe or padlock in the address bar > More Information > Security > "View Cookies"
* right-click the page > View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Any change when navigating from the home page?
(2) If you granted the site permission to access your location, turn that off. You can access site-specific permissions while viewing a page on the site using the Page Info dialog. Either:
* click the globe or padlock in the address bar > More Information > Permissions
* right-click the page > View Page Info > Permissions
* Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions

(3) If the site uses your preferred language to redirect, you could add en-GB and re-order your languages. However, this could lead to strange results on other sites. If you want to try it, access the Languages dialog from Content options here:

The mobile version of my site not working when Published.

The desktop version works fine and the mobile version seems to be working fine in Muse in both preview and browser preview.
What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

Thanks for your response Zak and my apologies for the delay in responding. I tried the site on a smart phone yesterday and the mobile version came up and it worked perfectly including the email and phone links. I don't have a tablet other than an Acer Iconia B1 and at the moment I'm presuming it'll bring up the correct version on a tablet that has better definition.
At the moment the site is hosted as a temporary test site on Business Catalyst. "Universal Redirect" was already selected at the time of my original query. The previous version of the site which this will supercede (not Muse and done a few years ago) is at present hosted by a different company but I want to change host to Business Catalyst as this seems to make sense and I can take advantage of the hosting credit.

Hi everyone, I'm having a really annoying problem in installing iTunes 11.0.3. I use a Dell laptop with windows 8 installed. I tried to download iTunes 11.0.3 for Windows 64 bit on apple.com. The size is actually 85Mb, but my downloads keep downloading the 77.5Mb version. So when I installed it turns out to be iTunes 10.2.1.1, the problem is iTunes 10.2.1.1 can't even recognize my iPad and I can't sync anything to it right now. Please help me because this problem is really getting on my nerves. Thank you

I tried the back-up and restore option tonight and it worked a charm.
Not sure why I had the problem in the first place but that was a relatively quick and easy fix :-)

Mobile version of muse site hosted through BC has quit working

For some reason after republishing a site for a client today, the mobile version has quit working. When I google search the site on my phone the address shows up as humanity.tv/phone/index.html which is correct but after you select it the safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found message comes up. Desktop and tablet version are working fine. Humanity.tv is the address.
I tried to clean up cache on my iPhone but its still not working. Could possibly be a cache overload on business catalysts side?
