I keep having green Flashes in FCPX.
I am editing XDCAM EX footage as well as mpeg4/h264. I can't believe Apple didn't resolve this issue yet. It's Version 10.0.6!
I can re-render parts of my timeline, but that's not a solution, it's a workaroud.
Well, as we already know, FCPX renders everything to ProRes422 (or other flavour, set in the prefs) in the background. When there is a mistake in the rendering process, the green frames occur. I know that there are several "solutions". I can change the lenght of the clip, I can force FCPX to re-render the section, I can switch on and off the stabilizer (to force FCPX to re-render the clip), I can even go to the project folder in finder and delete the render files of the project. But: that's not a solution at all. It happens again and again, especially when there are speedramps, slomos or speedups in my edit. When you have a client sitting next to you, or you have really short time to finish your edit (I am running a mobile TV broadcast system)... it's really annoying.
I could also re-encode my compressed h264, mpeg4 clips before importing to FCPX, that would also fix this issue, but in that case I could work with FCP7 again.
The green frames never occur when there is only i-frame footage like ProRes in the timeline, so I figured that it's some issue with the GOP-structure of highly compressed footage like h264. Obviously the software is somtimes unable to calculate and display the picture, when it comes to a frame that is somewhere in the jungle between two video-keyframes.
@mochaL, I don't think it's a performance issue. I own 6 iMacs (iMac 27" i7 3.4 Ghz, 16GB RAM, 10.7.5 with AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB Graphics card). (I'm renting them to TV-stations for mobile editing) The problem occurs on all machines as well as on my Laptop (MacBook Pro 15" (2012) 2.6 Ghz Intel Core i7, Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB).
For the moment I think Apple has to fix this. Please keep posting your experiences with this issue.

I have a Time Capsule on which I back up 2 MacBooks and on my wife's machine she keeps having Airport Utility popping up all the time with a yellow button flashing on the left and a Red button on the right side with a "1" in the middle of it. Can any one tell me what is wrong. I read where when the yellow light was flashing there was a problem, but I am a novice at this and have no idea where to turn. On the Mac......
Open up Macintosh HD > Applicatons > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the small window that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window
Change the setting for Router Mode from the current DHCP and NAT to read Off (Bridge Mode), then click Update at the lower right of the window, and wait a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a green light.
Then.....very important
Power off the Time Capsule and your Arris modem/router for a few minutes
Start up the Arris first, and let it run a few minutes by itself
Start up the Time Capsule next the same way
Your network will now be correct, and your printing capabilities will improve.
If Time Machine backups do not occur now, post back and we will tackle that next. -
I keep having to reloading Flash player
Every month or so I have to reload Flash Player. I know this because every morning I go to the USA Today site and download the crossword. This morning the page loaded but no crossword appeared. I downloaded and installed Flash player and opened up Safari again and all is well.

internet explorer ie9.but i also use google chrome and am finding my game play to work just fine on google.also i was just trying to take an survey and the site told me that i did not have the latest flash player installed and was asking me to download it.that would make it about eight times now.

I keep having to install flash player 11 every time i play games.whats wrong?
Almost every day i am playing one zinga game or another.during an upload of an game it will freeze and i will be asked to download the newest adobe flash player so the game will function properly.the rest of that day every thing will be fine.the next day the same thing will happin again.the download always works fine and the games all function fine after the download.this has happined four times now.i am an little confused and concerned.

Media Encoder CS4 problem with h.264 QuickTime- Green flashes
I have been using Premiere/Media Encoder CS4 on both a Mac and PC. I am having problems encoding using h.264 HD (720p) settings. These are the problems I have had:
When I encode on both platforms (using many different settings) the video plays back fine on the latest version of QuickTime on the Mac.
On the PC using the latest version of QuickTime the exact same video stutters and flashes green.
When I downgrade my version of QT on my PC to 7.4.5 the video plays fine.
With the downgraded version of QT and then encode the video again using the same settings. The video has the same mentioned problem on ANY PC with the latest version of QT.
I would like to say that this is just a QT problem but when I encode the videos using someone elses computer with other software (Sorenson Squeeze) using the exact same settings the video works fine on all platforms.
I need to distribute these videos online so I have no control over what version of QT people will be using to view the video so it is not enough just to say use the older version of QT.
Thanks in advance for help.There have been several instances, such as you describe, on the forum lately. Do not recall any exact resolutions though. I'd seach for "green flashes," as that exact phrase has been used in many.
On the PC using the latest version of QuickTime the exact same video stutters and flashes green.
Is this with QT 7.6.2? Many had major issues with the QT 7.4.x versions and Adobe software. The QT 7.5.5 version seemed to fix most of those, but another user was having issues with it very recently, and there have been some, who have also had issues.
It seems that QT will work with Adobe products for a bit, and then the next upgrade, or two, will fritz up the whole works.
Wish this was not such a "moving target."

Green flashes when rendering in Premiere CC 2014

I'm an in-house cameraman and editor for a financial business in London. I'm using the latest Macbook Pro Retina with 16gb ram, NVidia 750 graphics card. I've been using the same method for editing for past two years but have only just started editing with the very latest 2014 version of Premiere cloud. I'm mixing PM-100 and Sony EX1 footage which i've done many times before. However i've spend hours trying to get rid of green flashes that have started to appear on the renders.
These seem consistent with using the PMW-100 as the EX1 footage seems ok. I can replace the error clips with something else but then the render error moves to another part of the rendering.
These flashes can't be seen in playback within the editor, only after rendering.
I'm trying to work out if its the camera, camera drives, Macbook Pro Retina or Premiere.
Can anyone help shed light on this?
AndyI was having the same problem, and couldn't find a fix. It was also screwing up certain effects, particularly warp stabilizer every time I rendered or exported. Finally, I tried changing the renderer from Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Open CL) to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only, and it worked like a charm. Go to File -> Project Settings -> General and select the renderer from the dropdown menu. Make sure to also change the renderer when you export. Using Adobe Media Encoder, be sure to select "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" in the dropdown menu next to "Renderer" before you export.
This has completely eliminated the problem for me. -
I keep having a script run while I am playing Battle Pirates a face book game or am on Face Book trying to post something. Every time it runs it freezes the darn game and I have to click and click on the screen before a box pops up with a long string and asks if I want to stop the string. what can i do to stop it from running in the first place ? Firefox keeps trying to upgrade to 5 but every time it does it just get stuck trying to download and I end up closing it down with out upgrading???

Thank you for your suggestion. I downloaded and ran all 3 of the scans from Malwarebytes; and although it did find and I did delete items from my computer, (so it was still helpful) it did not fix the problem I'm having with Flash.
I have run malware, spyware and anti-virus scans. I've cleared my cache's and checked for anything in my programs as well as checked my Applications list in Firefox.
I'm completely at a loss for what to do!

Having trouble flashing the BIOS.
I am running the MS-6712 (KT4V-L) with the VT8377 (KT400) Chipset Revision 00, Southbridge VIA Model VT8235 Revision OO.
BIOS American Megatrends Version 07.00T 04/02/01.
I have downloaded what I think to be the current BIOS update for my PC but when I try to perform the flash it tells me that the chipset is not correct..etc.
I was running Windows XP and having trouble so I reinstalled the OS. Then the video drivers weren't working properly and I started getting the BSOD, it said invalid driver. I reloaded the OS again and figured I should do all of the MB updates before anything else. I ran the USB 2.0 patch and the computer keep rebooting now and seems to have trashed the USB onboard. I had to plug a PS/2 keyboard in to even get into the BIOS or anything. I then tried running the chipset update and it appeared to run but the version didn't change. I tried to run the rest of the drivers and they all failed except for the sound drivers? I am also getting sporadic reboots when I am trying to download my Windows updates. I keep having driver conflicts but not sure why since it is a fresh install? Things just aren't adding up?
I know that all sounds pretty vague but the MB was working fine before doing any of the updates. How can I flash the BIOS and chipset on this and can you tell me where the current versions are?

The backlight keeps having problems. Like, it will turn off and not come back on. I have tried all solutions. But the weird part is that when I kill the battery, like when I let the charge die, and then I try to recharge it, the backlight will then come back on for a little while, but then the light goes back out. Is there any way I can get this fixed or something? Without having to go and buy a new iPod or such. Because my warranty is out. It just went out like not even a whole month ago. But I have tried resetting it, restoring it, turning it off then back on, etc. And the only thing that seems to work is when I let the charge run out, but even then it only works for a short amout of time.
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Did you delete all receipts with iDVD in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder before installing the new copy? If not then do so and delete the new application also.

i keep having the same problem, my little cousin changed the passcode to my iphone 4s and she cant remember it.
