I lost all my contacts on my phone and all my downloads.  How do I get my downloads back

My iphone died.  I lost everything.  How do I get my purchases of music,games, etc. back?

The backup that itunes performs when syncing does NOT include apps,music,videos,etc.
EVERYTHING that is on your iphone should be on your computer.  You should be syncing them regularly.  Everything should also be included in your regular backup of your computer.
Restore everything from your backup copy.
