I lost my i-pod nano and bought a replacement.............

how do I change the serial number on i-tunes so i can download all my current itunes which were on my old ipod? I dont want to lose all my tunes!!!!

You don't need to change anything, just connect the iPod and as auto transfer is the default setting, iTunes will load the songs to your new nano.

I have an I Pod Nano and would get messages to update my software.  In my I Tunes I have 1,900 songs but after the updates it will only sync 933 songs.  My current software version is 1.0.2.  What am I doing wrong or is it something in the software.  I have not done anything different in my I Tunes and all songs are checked.  Could someone please help or advise me what to do?

Thank you Gail, but not to be ignorant but can I send you a print screen on what I am looking at.  I will try am explain what I see: I hooked up my I Pod Clicked on Music checked Sync Music 1909 Songs select Playlist, Artists, albums, and genres checked Include music videos Playlists checked 50's Music checked 70's Music checked 80's Music checked 90's Music checked 2000 Music checked 2010 Music   These are songs that I downloaded onto my I Tunes.  I bought me a new computer but when my data was transferred from old computer to new computer a lot of my songs on my hard drive were lost, but they were able to save all my songs on I tunes.  My I Pod is still connected Clicked on "On this Ipod" Music 938  Songs 2.2 days So my question to you is if I have 1,909 songs on my ITunes how come only 938 transferred to my IPod.  I checked my IPod and it shows only 938 songs transferred.  This did not happen before until I Tunes asked me if I wanted to update to a newer version.  Last month I did have all my 1,909 songs on my I Pod.  I hope this explains what I am asking

Why you bought from the UAE .
The phone has NO international warranty and its the UAE and Saudia Arabian authorities that have instructed the function (facetime) to be removed not Apple.
Your best option is to return it to Dubai when next there.
OR contact these companies and see if you can trade to a Facetime friendly model from Europe

  • I lost my Photoshop 8 disc and need to replace it. Is that possible?

I lost my Photoshop 8 disc and need to replace it. Is that possible? Adobe says they no longer support Photoshop 8.

Unfortunately, photoshop cs will not run on mac os x 10.10 Yosemite, because photoshop cs is a PowerPC (type of processor) application and Yosemite uses an intel processor that can't run PowerPC applications.
(apple removed Rosetta after os x 10.6.8 snow leopard)
You can buy photoshop cs6 or subscribe to the creative cloud for photoshop cc 2014, if you want a version of photoshop that runs on your new operating system.

I have tried to reconnect to I tunes and after the 5minute wait the I POD isnt an option on the source list.
I have no other programmes running and I have 1gb of ram moe than enough for this, I have downloaded the latest I tunes version and this is seriously putting me off the Apple company maybe all the rumours of unreliablity are true.

I have just purchased my ipad nano, and have no idea how it charges? I know Im so computer dumb! But is it the cord that you use to sinc your ipod that charges it? Please help?

Yes - just plug it into a USB port on your computer, or if you've got a wallplug from a previous iPod you can use the cable with that. There is more info on charging Nano's here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3215

No app on the iOS device is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod/iPhone/iPad on the iOS device in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected or cellular data is on and connected for, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iOS device and have the device play a sound via iCloud.
    iCloud: Erase your device
    iCloud: Use Lost Mode
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the device and report to police and carrier if iPhone or cellular iPad
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the erase (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 or later on the device. With iOS 7 or later, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Lost iTunes in old compter and bought a new one. . . help

I bought a new computer and it has Windows Vista. Is there any way I can put the songs on my iPod onto my new computer? They are not saved on any files on my iPod. I already downloaded iTunes, but I don't want to connect my iPod to it because I will lose all of my songs. Can anyone help me?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here (you'll also need to check for Vista compatibility as they may not all be updated yet): Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. Relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • I pod Nano and Windows Media player.

Can someone please help! All my music is in windows media player and I dont know how to transfer it over to by nano.

If the WMA files are "unprotected", iTunes can convert them when you add them to your library. It should do this automatically when you use the "file/add to library" option in iTunes.
If not, see: How to convert a song to a different format using iTunes.
However, iTunes cannot convert "protected" WMA files.
The only way to convert these files would be to burn them to an "audio" cd and import that into iTunes as you would any other cd.
Once they are in iTunes and converted to a format the iPod can read, they should transfer.

  • 1 computer, 2 I phones, and an I Pod Nano!

Myself and husband only have 1 home PC, i currently have an I phone and I tunes account that i sync together. My partner is now looking to purchase an I phone as well, and we also have been given a new I pod nano that we wish to run a home sound system from.
how will i need to go about setting up Multiple I tunes accounts and devices? and can music be shared across the i pod nano and I phones? so if i use my account to buy an album can i transfer and sync to both my I phone and the I pod nano?
I'm fairly new user and find it all a little complicated.. thanks for anyones help!

Obviously it's not something that Apple would suggest doing, but if you want to share 1 iTunes account, I would suggest creating a new admin account on your system, or using another computer. You can authorize an Apple ID on up to 5 computers. To do this open iTunes select Store (from the top menu) and Authorize computer.
    If you are worried about getting all the content into another user. There are 2 ways;
    1. If all of the content is purchased from the iTunes store, you would want to connect up the iPhone to iTunes (in another user) cancel the sync if it starts automatically, or before connecting up the iPhone launch iTunes and go to (Windows Edit/Preferences .. Mac iTunes/Preferences) go to the Device tab and select 'Disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods' .. however this does not always work. Authorize computer in the new user. Once the iPhone is connected and this user account is authorized with your shared Apple ID, go to File/Transfer purchases from iPhone. This will bring over any purchased content.
    2. If not all the content is purchased, put all the content onto a flash drive, log into the test user, open iTunes, authorize the computer in this new user account and then bring over all the content. Once this is done, make sure that you can play the purchased content in the new user.
Or you can put only the non-purchased content onto the flash drive, and then do step 1 and 2 to get all your data over.
Hope this is helpful, enjoy! ✰

  • Lost tunes from Ipod Nano!

can anyone help. I uploaded some CD's onto my ipod nano and bought some tunes of the music store. for some reason the ipod has lost the purchased songs and now only has copird ones from CD. However they are in the libary on my itunes account. how can i retransfer them?

If you're using iTunes 7, you can copy purchased music back to iTunes directly. If you're not using iTunes 7 or want to copy other tracks, the easiest way will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:
    MacMuse: Computer crashed
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Discussions page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums, in the User Tips Library and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.

    dell inspiron 6000   Windows XP

Been having the same problem with my new 4G Nano, the computer just wont recognise it, but my old Ipod is fine.
But by chance i had a USB memory stick in the other USB port and the Nano suddenly shows up on my desktop and iTunes 7!! Still won't work without a memory still plugged in as well. But I can at least get music onto it now.
