I'm having problems renting movies as Apple TV doesn't recognise my ID and/or password (even though iTunes and the App Store do - and this site of course). Anyone experiencing similar, or know how to resolve? Thanks

All suggestions welcome. It has worked in the past BTW - not since the recent update.

I had exactly the same problem a few days ago. I had to go into the settings and choose to reset all settings. Worked fine for me after that.
