I'm trying to create a program that will allow me to collect data from a Luxtron thermometry system. How can I do this?
I'm a little confused as to how to write to the machine and how to retrieve data from the machine. I'm unsure of requested byte size and string to write specifically. This machine also has 4 probes, so it can record 4 temperatures simultaneously. How can I reflect this in the waveform chart?
There are example VI's in LV on Instrument Connectivity. If you go to the Help menu >> Examples.. >> I/O, you will see a couple; and Examples.. >> Fundamentals for File and String manipulation. I would suggest tweaking them to suit your application. Also the specific command that your instrument responds to can be found from it's manual.
You could find a driver for this instrument at http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/default.htm . If it's not listed there, it leaves you with one of a couple options. First, I would like you to submit a request for this driver at: http://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/instrumentdriverrequest/

The first step is to make sure the instrument drivers are loaded properly. If they are non-IVI drivers, simlply copy the folders into the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\instr.lib folder. The path should be the same for most versions of LabVIEW. You can check the installation in LabVIEW by going to the Functions>>Instrument I/O>>Instrument Drivers.
Then, it's just a matter of wiring the functions together in the proper order, while keeping the VISA sessions separated. I have attached an example screen shot of controlling 2 instruments simultaneously.

You have learned the major disadvantage of the sequence structure: It must run to completion before anything else can happen.
If you are building a state machine (typically a while loop with shift registers enclosing a case structure with one case per state) and having trouble with timing, then think about your requirements. Apparently you have some time delays, but under certain conditions you must terminate a delay/wait and do something else. One way of doing this is to have a Wait state. The wait state has a short delay, determined by the minimum time you can delay responding to a changed condition, and a check to see if the required elapsed time has occurred. If the time has not elapsed, the next state is the Wait state again. The state machine can repeat any state as often as necessary. So a 15 second delay could be implemented by going to a Wait state with a one second wait 15 times. Any error or new command will see a response in no more than one second.

Firstly hello to all. I’m looking to create a vi that will
take a single logged output from a thermocouple and monitor the temperature and
produce a Boolean when the temperature has stabilised for a pre determined time
say 1minuet. I have managed to find a couple of examples on the forum but one
will only run on V8.2 and I have V8, the other is for more than one channel
witch is fine I can always reduce this, but it was the timing feature I was
having difficulty with. I looking to monitor the temperature of a motor until
it has stabilised prior to testing and then to use this temperature as a
reference. Pleas forgive my ignorance if this is a very simple thing but I’ am

What I’ am trying to achieve is a vi I can use in a motor
testing setup, a part of this would be to warm the motor up until the exhaust
air temperature has stabilised, this takes approximately 10 minuets. I was
thinking of just letting the motor run for this time and leave it at this, but
some motors warm up quicker that others and. I am basically looking for a vi with
an adjustable temperature window of say ±5 C° in 1° increments, timing wise 1minuet
to 10min the adjustment is so I a can use this for another application. I tried
to adjust the code I found at the link below but had a little difficulty with

For a Mac? Sure. If you have iMovie, Final Cut Express, or Final Cut Pro you can capture your HDV or DV clips with any of these apps.

I have 2 games Words with Friends and Cityville that receives a Pop-up message form iTunes... "Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications" and will not allow me to exit out of the app or play. How can I get this message to STOP?
Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either. Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

you have definitely tried the correct steps, all you would need to do now is a back up & restore to factory settings. If after that the issue remains then you would most likely need a replacement unit.
