I'm trying to user reflector installed on windows 7
On a corporate network. My PC appears in the mirroring icon on my iphone4s 6.1.3 but when I click on the name I don't get the option to mirror.
Same thing at home using same pc on home wifi.
My laptop "name" appears ok on the phone - so reflector seems to be running ok on the laptop.
Any ideas? Is there a magic setting on the iphone I'm missing?
Help please, I'm thinking about buying and iPhone and I don't know what I'll do. It says there's no error but it doesn't install!

BTW, just for completeness... Many people are not aware that DirectX 10 or later, is a whole different architecture from DX 9.0c. And that both DX 9.0c and DX10+ can be installed on a machine and coexist. For example, Microsoft deprecated DirectSound (and some
other components) in DX10+, so if you have a program that needs one of the deprecated components, you need to install DX 9. I installed both on my Win7 machine with no problem. -
all of a sudden my itunes wont come up when i hit the desktop icon. un and re installed many times, tried new users, it finally gave me "you need to reinstall sqmapi.dll " im a noob and i have know idea what that is or where i can get it. i cant open any file or library that has anything to do with itunes except safari and quicktime are fine. im about to pull out whats left of my hair.

In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes. Does it open this time? -
I cannot install iTunes. I get a Windows Error 126 and missing msvcr80.dll. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing based on all the suggestions, but still have an issue. I've removed all the services, tried moving the dll files as suggested, but I still have no success. Spent all day on this issue. I am running windows 7.
Sorry to hear this isn't going smoothly for you. Try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. You may have seen some of the suggestions here before but is has taken some users more than one attempt.

Access Denied When Trying To Install Printer - Windows 7
Good Day
I have a serious problem on a client's computer. All I need to do is connect the laptop to a network printer, but I am having a lot of difficulty in doing so.
First the details of the laptop: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit connected to network using ETH cable. Avira Professional antivirus running, firewall disabled on pc, user is member of administrators group only.
Details of the printer: Xerox Workcentre 3220, connect to network using ETH cable, but also shared on pc also running Windows 7 64-bit Professional.
I am able to ping the printer and have connected all the other pcs on the network to the printer without any troubles whatsoever. Printing, scanning - everything is working fine for the other pcs. I am also able to connect to shares from the laptop to any
other pc.
So here is my issue with this specific laptop:
Firstly, when using the "Add Printer" wizard, the "Add a local printer" option is greyed out.
So I tried connecting to the printer using the"Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer" option, which seemed to be working, but during installation it gives an Access Denied error and undoes the installation.
Then I tried connecting to the share of the printer on one of the other pcs, which had the exact same result.
I then tried to modify an other printer, by firstly trying to add a new Local Port, but the I recieve the following error: "Specified port cannot be added. Access is denied."
I tried then adding the driver using the Windows Print Server, but the buttons were unavailable.
After reading on many forums, I accessed the Print Management console (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Print Management)m and tried adding the printer and ports there, but recieved an "Access Denied" error every time.
Basically whatever I tried, I recieved "Access Denied" errors. I created a new user, which is only a member of the Administrators group. Logged in with new user, without any success in connecting to the printer. I then tried adding security permisssions
for "everyone" to the folder C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, as I read on another forum. I tried modifying the group policy using gpedit.msc and also using the Local Security Policy, although I could have missed some things in these two places,
but basically with a quick glance, everything seemed fine. I am sure there are no virusses, etc on this laptop and as I have said all the other pcs connected to the printer very easily.
How can it be that I cant install a printer on this laptop, while I was able to do so a year or so back?
I have gotten a few suggestions that it will in the end just save me time by formatting the pc and reloading all the data and programs, but this isn't an option I really want to take. And then I have previously had issues with the "Add a local printer"
option greyed out and unable to add printers, etc, but then I was able to solve the problem by creating a new user and then switching to that user - which indicated a possible user profile corruption. But in this case even that did not work.Hi,

1.Start the policy editor (Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Local security policy)
2.Select “Local policy” item
3.Find the item “Devices: Prevent Users from Installing Printer Drivers” in the section Security Settings -> Security Options and change it to Enabled
4.Go to “Security Settings -> User Rights Assignment” section and check, that “Load & Unalod Drivers” option contains the active user group. It important, that even if it has “All Staff” already, it still could miss “Administrators” group, so it’s necessary
to add it manually.

I have installed Premiere Elements 11 from a disc I bought from Amazon. I keeps asking me to re-install or if it does start stops a few minutes after I start a project. I have a windows 8.1 PC. I have tried numerous times to install the program and also to open it as Administrator as suggested by a friend but it still refuses to work. I need direct help from Adobe but don't know how to get to them on this website as they seem to rely on user forums to advise customers.

During installation of itunes using Windows 7 64-bit, I have this error come up every time during installation.
"An Error occured during intstallation of Assembly "Microsoft .VC80.CRT type="win32". version="8.0.50727,6195", public Key Token="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b, processor Architecture'+x86'". This is all followed by some more text and code HRESULT:0x80070005
Ive tried uninstalling and re-installing, tried msconfig startup and service checks. At my wits end. Help!
Anne MarieProbably should've searched around a bit more. Just saw a similar forum post to my own in which redownloading and burning solved another user's similar issue. As of now I've redownloaded the 64-bit ISO, burned it, and so far so good (at 72% extracting files). I will repost here if it was a success in hopes that other users with a similar issue find this and benefit from it. Hope I didn't just waste anyone's time with a question that had already been answered (haha)

When I open iWeb it does not "Highlight" the New site or new page options. It has had this issue for over a year! I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it. What do I do? It opens the tutorial video, then when you close it, nothing else is clickable.
Open iPhoto, select a couple of photos and use the Share ➙ iWeb ➙ Photo page menu option. That has jump started iWeb for others. I could take a couple of tries.
If that doesn't work try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iiWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.

Standard user cannot install apps
I have setup a Mac Mini in my office for several people to use, with me as Admin and others as Standard account. The problem is, when someone wants to install an app, they always get a prompt to input the Admin's username and password. From my research, I was under the impression that Standard users could install apps, but only for their own account, which is what we want. But for some reason, it's not working that way. I did a Google search and following one recommendation, used Disk Utiltiy to repair permissions on the hard drive of both the Admin and Standard User account in question, but with no positive result. I'm a bit reluctant to just give Admin privileges to one person; then others will may ask for the same privileges. What should I do?

HLIt sounds like they are trying to install an application in a location that they do not have permissions for (the main /Applications folder, for example). They will need to use a location inside their own account that they have access to - usually this would be in a different Applications folder that has been created in their own account. There are a few badly written applications that expect to be installed and run from an administrative account, but fortunately there aren't too many of those.

I keep getting the message iTunes has stopped working. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes many times. I had contacted Apple at one point and they told me that I needed to uninstall items in the following order iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and then Apple Application Support. I have done this numerous times. Can anyone help or offer suggestions. Using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. Thanks.
StackHash error has something to do with VISTA's DEP (Data Execution Prevention)
I managed to get something online from Tech expert and hope this will resolve your issue. Good Luck!!
The StackHash error happens any time DEP is found that there is an issue with the program run. The error is related to Data Execution Prevention. Here’s how 99 percent of Vista and Win7 users can fix a StackHash failure:
Click the run button and open the Control Panel
Browse to the section of System Maintenance then to the System
At the left side, select Advanced System Settings link
In the System Properties Window the top section is named as Performance with the Settings button. Click this button.
Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab.
Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
Use the Browse button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
Click Apply or OK to commit your changes.
Note: Nobody can guarantied you that described instruction will solve the 100% of the StackHash error issues but you can try it to resolve the problem. -
Trying to get icloud, installed snow leopard, now it says I need OSX, but my processor isn't right for it. Is this possible? Do I need to buy a nw computer? will I loose all my mobile me storage?
You will lose the entire contents of your iDisk whether or not you migrate to MobileMe as there is no equivalent in iCloud and MobileMe will be terminated at the end of June. You will need to download any data which you don't have on your Mac already.
Snow Leopard is not compliant with iCloud and most of the facilities will not work. You can migrate from MobileMe to iCloud at http://me.com/move even with Snow Leopard: when asked to confirm that your Mac is running Lion just lie and say 'yes'. Of course you won't be able to access iCloud directly from your Mac.
If you have MobileMe mail set up to collect mail from external POP accounts you should cancel this before migrating, or you may find it still working in iCloud (where it isn't supposed to) and with no way of stopping it.
This will be the situation with Snow Leopard when you have migrated:
Your email, calendars, and 'Find my iPhone' will be migrated to iCloud. Contacts and Bookmarks cannot be migrated from a Snow Leopard Mac.
Your iDisk, together with website hosting and Gallery, will continue to work as before until next June.
Syncing of Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items and Keychains between Macs, and Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, System Preferences, Signatures & Smart Mailboxes between Macs & iOS devices, will cease altogether.
You will be able to access email and calendars on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is).

I, like many other users, cannot install Google toolbar. It won't install!
As soon as I updated Firefox to the latest version, the one I am using now, I downloaded Google toolbar for Windows 7; however, when I tried to install it just would not install due to incompatibility issues. I did a research on the Web regarding the problem and I found lots of users complaining about the same problem; so, that means that lots of people out there have the same problem. In the previous version of Firefox I had Google toolbar installed and it is great and would like, like many others, have it installed in my Firefox. If you have a work around to install it please advise. By the way...It just won't install on Windows 7.

You might want to ask TDS if they have plans to update that toolbar for Firefox 5.0 any time soon. If they don't, you're gonna have continuing problems with Mozilla's Fast Release schedule for Firefox, which has new versions coming out every 6 weeks or so. Until that toolbar is fixed properly, it's going to be disabled every 6 weeks or just remain disabled.
The question I have for you is, does that toolbar really have much of value to you? Does it have a special features that aren't available with a different toolbar or extension? Like maybe one where the developer keeps it up to date as new versions of Firefox are released?
