One way of doing this is to use either a ring or enum where the strings
presented to the user are "1", "10", or whatever you like. On the
diagram, the values will be 0, 1, 2, in a compact counting sequence.
Then do an array index into a constant. If this is done more than one
place, make the control a typedef so you can keep them consistent an
d
make the index be done in a subVI. Then whenever you need this, you
drop the control and the subVI, out comes the integer, float, or
whatever it is you want to index.

Allow all users to choose startup disk

Is there any way to allow all users to choose the startup disk on the OS X side? We want non admin users to be able to reboot to windows without having to hold down the option button when booting.

I need to access one folder in user library folder from my time machine backup......but the backup disk won't show show a library folder.
Pressing option-go only directs me to the current library folder in my hard drive. I have opened up the saved disk image and need to copy one folder and put it into my current library. Trying to restore using time capsule won't let me into the user library either......

The Saved Application State folder is where Lion stores all the information required for its resume feature to function as it does. As you are looking for a specific saved game folder it will not be in the Saved Application State folder. This folder was not present in Snow Leopard so wouldn't be present on your backup previous to the Lion install.
The game saves you're looking for will most likely be located in the Application Support or Preferences folder.

Yeah, agree with words of Hari. Normally by default server will allow only 2 remote connection for administrator purpose. So you want 4 users to connect you need RDS CAL to access it. As already suggested you can purchase RDS CAL (Per User or Per Device) according
to your requirement.
After installing RD License server you need to activate it first and then you can install the purchased RDS CAL.

Allow other users when upgrading from version 8 to 9

When I originally installed Parallels 8 I did not allow access to Windows to other users on my iMac. I am now upgrading to Parallels 9 and want to enable another user on my computer to access my Windows programs. Will I be prompted to allow other users when I install the Parallels 9 upgrade or will I have to go into Parallels 9 later to allow this. If I have to go in later, how do i do it.

Wanted: Popup which allows the user to enter one string

Hello,
as the topic states, I am searching for a (modal) popup which lets the user enter one string in a text field and returns this string.
I am currently using the function module 'POPUP_TO_GET_ONE_VALUE' for this purpose which works quite good - BUT it has one major drawback: the string that is returned is entirely in capital letters. This is not acceptable as I want to build a case-sensitive search based on the input...
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated !

You are right, the parameters that reference to the DDIC made me wonder and decide against this FM when I searched through all the available popups some time ago.
To your first reply:
the popup is quite good. It does indeed deliver a 'case preserved' string. What I don't like is the checkbox and the fact, that the confimation button is labeled 'search' rather than just the 'ICON_OK'. I should mention at this point that I reuse the popup in other scenarios where the string is not used for a search but to name certain objects. Again an all uppercase string (or all lowercase string as well) is unwanted.
Now on to the second popup...

How to allow Sharepoint users to login from multiple parent-child accounts?

Our client has mutliple AD domains and wants to allow people which have multiple AD accounts in multiple domains to login as THE SAME user:
- only primary account will be visible in search
- there will be only one user profile with all informations gathered from all sub accounts
- permissions for the sub account will be in sync with parent account
- task generated for parent will be visible for child accouns too etc
- ad admin can link the account together in the Active Directory - this link is permament (even if we move users to another OU) and ad admin can define which account is primary and secondary (parent/child)
How we can implement this in Sharepoint 2010 Std Server?

Everything in SharePoint keys of the Security Identifier (SID) of a user. Each user in a domain has a unique SID, so there is no way to have multiple users recognized in SharePoint as the same user.

Allowing a user to upgrade a specific Application

We have a specific application that we install on all of our mobile computers. Our newest is the Microsoft 8.1 Professional with an attached keyboard. The issues that we are facing have all been resolved with the exception of one.
The application is installed as the administrator and the user is a basic user with no real privileges. We gave the user full access to the folders that are created and would like to have the users to be able to update this application when newer versions
are released.
The Windows XP systems were performing this without fail but Windows 8 is telling me that the user does not have the appropriate permissions to install as All Users. I have spent a lot of time in GPO and still being denied. Can anyone offer assistance on
this?

This happens on Windows 8 not on windows XP, because there is a User Account Control setting in Windows 8 User Account Control (UAC) helps prevent malicious programs (also called malware) from damaging a computer and helps organizations deploy a better-managed
desktop. With UAC, applications and tasks always run in the security context of a non-administrator account. So, a consent prompt will show up when you try to install an application with a standard user, the detailed information can be found at Microsoft:

So, the suggestion is add the standard user to the administrator group, then your can check the result.

OWA is not allowing a user to choose a recipient from the list that pops up when she types a letter or two in the To or CC Box

The user is using Windows 7 Professional, and IE 9.0. The problem started 2 days ago.
I saw a similar issue mentioned in this forum, the suggestion to remove S/MIME is not an option because it is not installed on her machine.
I have tried multiple clicks which puts a big blue box around it (like for copying and pasting) I can then copy and past the address into the To or CC box.
I have tried permanently deleting all her unpermanently emails, that has not helped. She is using the Global list. She can see the possible choices for recipients just fine; however, clicking on one does not select it and/or pop the recipient
into the To or CC box.
