I need a non-iso image of the OVM-Manager 2.2.2 install

An application development group has set up an OVS 2.2 environment and has asked my help to install and setup and OVM-Manager that works with it on a LINUX VM that they they have. The only OVM-Manager 2.2.x I have is an ISO, but I dont have access to the console/DVD as the VM is in Utah.
What are my options? Is there a way to mount and install an ISO locally? (IE: copy the ISO image to a local filesystem on the machine and mount it, and install?) Or is there a non-ISO install package?
Thanks

Do something like this:
mount -o loop ovm-mgr.iso /mnt/disk
cd /mnt/disk
<do the install>
Or Google for something like "mount -o loop iso", and read all about it.

  • JAVA, sqlserver - Need to load an image from the sql server database

    hi,
I need to load an image from the sql server database using java. I have connected to the database and getting all other records except the records for a photo (datatype = LONGVARBINARY) and Remarks (datatype = LONGVARCHAR).
I am using java and sql server db. The photo and remarks are stored in the db. and i need to show the image and the remarks fetching them from there.
    I get the error :
Thread-9 org.hibernate.MappingException: No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: -1
    How can I achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Gargi

Exactly. And are you using MySQL?
No. You are using Microsoft SQL server if I have to believe your initial post. A quick google tells me that the dialect class to use is:
    org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect

  • Add Iso image in the Pxe sever of WDS

Hello sorry for my bad english.
Is there any solution to add an iso image (boot cd like "utltimate boot cd")  in the PXE menu of WDS ?
    Thanks a lot

You keep saying "startup image" and "discover image" and that is confusing things. There are three image type with WDS:
    1. Boot Images - Used to startup the hardware and pull down the
Install Image from WDS and apply the Install Image to the local HD.
    2. Install Image - Pulled down to the machine after starting with the
Boot Image and is applied to the HD.  The machine reboots and runs from the applied
local Install Image.  The Install Image can be a completed installation that is "ready to run" or a "wizard driven" installation which will go through the process of installing Windows on a machine (the way a factory
    Windows install disk does).
    3. Capture Image - This image is a Boot Image that contains a wizard driven copy of ImageX and is used to create an Install Image from a chosen partition of the local HD on the Master Model Machine.  Note, it only captures
a single chosen partition, not the entire drive, and it will only acknowledge OS boot partitions that have had Sysprep run on them. It creates two copies of an Install Image,...one on the WDS Server,...and one on a local destination such as an external USB
HD connected to the source machine during the process.
If you have a custom bootable utility disk of some kind then that would be considered a
Boot Image.  So to answer your direct question, as I understand it,...go to the WDS managemant console and tell it you want to import a
Boot Image.  Locate and browse to the "boot.wim" file that would be located somewhere on the Boot CD/DVD that you said you already have.
If your bootable CD/DVD is of some other type that does not contain a "boot.wim", then you simply cannot do what you want to do.  Boot Images are "special",...when they load they
first create a RAM Drive and then load into, and run from, that RAM Drive. You cannot do that with a Boot Disk Tool that is DOS or Linux based. It must be a Windows Based boot disk with the copy of Windows contained within the "boot.wim" file.
If I knew specifically what this boot disk you have (gotten from a friend or whatever) specifically is, then maybe I could tell you if you have any options.

  • Connection problem to the OVM Manager 3.0.3 Console

My OVM Manager 3.0.3 installation was smooth on top of Oracle Linux 6.0, not even with a single error after taking care of some prerequisite warning stuff at the beginning.
After the installation, it displayed some info on how to connect to the OVM Manager Console.
    http://ovmmanager:7001/ovm/console
    https://ovmmanager:7002/ovm/console
But, not only neither address seems to work but also the server opens neither port.
I have no problem remotely logging into the shell via ssh.
Trying "telnet ovmmanager 7001" and "telnet ovmmanager 7002" isn't connecting.
Also, Oracle is up and running.
    # ps -ef |grep XE |wc -l
    31
    # ps -ef |grep pmon
    oracle 1610 1 0 02:28 ? 00:00:02 xe_pmon_XE
I rebooted it couple of times but the same thing.
Could someone please let me know where I should start?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I just had to do a system recovery and as a consequence, I lost an app that downloaded. When I open the app manager it says the app is 'installed' so won't let me reinstall it. How do I change this?

  • I need to add a website to the sites which are allowed to install add-ons & have instructions to do so but do not have a yellow bar across the top of my screen in order to click on "Edit Options."

I tried to install an update for Adobe Reader but Mozilla Firefox will not install it until I add them to the Allowed List. The first step is to click on "Edit Options" in the yellow bar across the top, but i don't have a yellow bar or actually anything that says Edit Options.
== I needed to install an update for Adobe Reader

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.
See [[How do I edit options to add Adobe to the list of allowed sites]]

  • Problem displaying images from the content manager

I am displaying an html page from a <cm:select> but the images do not display.
I have set up the dmsbase directory as per the samplePortal, and loaded the content.
The HTML displays, but with errors for the images.
Here's the select from the portlet:
    <cm:select contentHome="<%=ContentHelper.DEF_CONTENT_MANAGER_HOME%>"

    id="textDocs"/>
    <es:forEachInArray array="<%=textDocs%>" id="aTextDoc" type="com.bea.p13n.content.Content">

OK, I found Greg's reply and that fixed it, once I played with it a bit.

  • I need a sql statment that return the platform on which oracle is installed

    hi all
in Oracle 10g there is a column in v$database names platform_name that contain the platform name on which oracle is installed.
do you know how can I check it in oracle 9i/9i ?

    And just to note:
Sandeep's solution only works if your user has access to the V$DATABASE view which most standard users won't.
Kamal's solution will work with most users providing they haven't had permission taken away from them in regards the dbms_utility package.

I had this problem as well. I was under the gun on time and just purchased it anyway. After installation I contacted support and they refunded me the amount.
You should have a backup of your servers regardless of circumstances. You would then be able to restore the server software.
When Apple repair machines they will often just swap it or swap the hard disk and will not make any effort to transfer your files. They assume you are doing a backup. Anybody running servers absolutely has a responsibility to ensure they have aduequate backups even more than 'normal' users. While Time Machine may not be wholely suitable for backing up servers Time Machine is so simple even normal users can use it and therefore no longer have any excuse for not doing backups.

  • The adobe flash player shows in the plugins manager that it is installed but when i look in the program files for firefox ther is no adobe flash files

even tho the flash player says its installed it still wont work i have tried uninstalling the programs and removing all registry values for them (not all at once) i have tried every troubleshooting tip for both programs to resolve this issue
the flash player works fine on other browsers but not firefox

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_plugins#Identifying_installed_plugins
You can see the installed plugins on the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aplugins about:plugins] page.<br />
If you set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page then you see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.<br />
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.<br />
    <br />
You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).<br />
If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.
You can also try to delete the file pluginreg.dat and let Firefox rebuild a new version.<br />

  • What is the ISO image that boot camp is asking for when i try to in tall windows 7 on my mac book air?

I am at the point in boot camp where i am creating a bootable USB drive for windows installation, it has a flash drive selected but is asking for an ISO image, i am installing windows 7 and have no idea where the iso image is on the disk.

It is asking for an .iso image of the Windows bootable installer DVD. This would be the .iso file you would get had you purchased Windows and downloaded your purchase. If you have the Windows DVD then you don't need to do what you are doing. Just boot from the DVD to install Windows.
Open Boot Camp Assistant and click on the large button, Print Documentation. Read carefully before proceeding.

Bootcamp Assistant is in your Utilities folder. Run it, print the installation instructions, follow the instructions for installing Windows.

  • I want to burn an iso image of my hard drive to an external backup drive. Is Disc Utility the best program to accomplish this?

Time Machine keeps giving me backup errors. I've run Disc Utility repair on the external drive, which shows no errors but the TM error continues. I've been copying and pasting files as an alternative, but I thought creating an ISO image of the entire system on the external would be a good idea. There's plently of room on the external drive.

    Thanks again for the advice.

  • Windows 7 .iso image for bootcamp?

I have a mid-2012 13in macbook pro (non-retina). I need to install Windows 7 Home Premium on my computer using bootcamp. In Apple's "Boot Camp Installation and Setup Guide" it says there is an option to install Windows 7 with a .iso image instead of a dvd. I did this to get Ubuntu as well. But I would like to get the .iso image directly from Microsoft, like the apple guide says to. I don't see it anywhere on microsoft's website. Can anyone help?

an iso image is a carbon copy of an optical install disc
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_image
you can make any install optical disc into an iso file using tons of tons of free programs available for both windows, osx and linux
    https://www.google.dk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF- 8#q=make%20optical%20disc%20into%20iso
an iso you make from an official ms install disc would hold the same data as an iso file make by ms from one of their install disc
