I need an example about loading java method to Oracle

Hi,
Could anyone give me an simple example of a Java method which will be loaded into Oracle.
Let say, the method will read the email address based on employee_ID from a table called Employee. Thank you very much for all your help.
Hellenie
PS: I would like to see java code and to see how it could call a table without having to deal with connection object ,statement,etc...

PS: I would like to see java code and
to see how it could call a table without
having to deal with connection
object ,statement,etc...A Java Stored Procedure still uses JDBC to talk to the database just like on the client. The difference is that instead of making a remote connection (from client to server), your connection is local and is obtained via the url
DriverManager.getConnection("oracle:jdbc:kprb:@");
If you don't want to use a Connection, Statement, Resultset, etc, you may wish to use PL/SQL. One of the advantages of Java Stored Procedures is it uses the same JDBC calls as you do on the client, so it makes it easier to move code from client, to app server, to database tier.
Hope this clears things up a bit,
Rob

  • Trigger a Java method from Oracle

    Does anyone know how I can trigger a java method from Oracle?
    I have a certain Java method in my application which I want to be executed everytime a new record is added to a certain table.
    In Oracle I could use a trigger on insert but what can I do if I want a Java method to be executed after a new record was inserted? Does anyone know that?
    Thanks for your help

    My application is already running, it does not have
    to get started, I just need a method to be called
    from Oracle.well unless oracle is running some sort of java listener in your vm i can't see it being possible.
    either poll for the change, or become incharge of the change, or using the external command system.

  • Need more Info about "Load transactional data when master data not loaded"

    Hi,
    Can you please explain me this option in the infopackage " Load transactional data when master data is not loaded"....
    Say i load a transactional data record which has a material no. AAAXX.
    In the fact table, the material no. is replaced with the corresp. DIM ID.
    Now, assume that there is no entry for this Material no.
    AAAXX in the master data table...so no DIM ID for it..
    How is it then stored in the fact table ?
    Hope i have managed to explain the scenario..
    Thanks in advance,
    Punkuj

    Hello Punkuj K,
    How r u ?
    No, if the entry for that Material Number "AAAXX" is not there in the Master Data then it will create a SIDs & DIMs ID for that & Transaction Data will be loaded.
    Use
    Choose this indicator if you want to always update the data, even if no master data for the navigation attributes of the loaded records exists. The master data is generated from the loaded transaction data. The system draws SIDs. You can subsequently load the master data.
    Dependencies
    The texts, attributes, and hierarchies are not recognized by the system. Load the texts / attributes / hierarchies for the corresponding InfoObjects separately.
    This function corresponds to the update. Possible errors when reading the master data into the update rules are not associated with this indicator.
    Recommendation
    We recommended loading the master data into the productive systems in advance. Select this indicator especially in test systems.

  • Need an example about Yokogawa 7651's labview VI

    hi, highly respected gurus:
               I am a new guy of labview, and now I need to use Yokogawa 7651 and Keithley 196 to make an I-V curve to perform the restistance measurment. That's to say, I need to tell tell my Yokogawa 7651 to produce an voltage sweep from -2 volt to 2 volt, the voltage step is 0.1 volt, and the time between two suceesivly steps is 100 ms.
               Tried to download the Yokogawa 7651 labview driver from NI website, but it seems a bunch of subvi. And I didn't manage to use those tiny vi's to  achive my voltage sweep. Are there anybody have experience of using labview to control Yokogawa?
               Thanks in advance.
               Best regards.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi, K C:
             Thanks so much. I used the VI you posted. It does control the Yokogawa. The driver provided from NI doesn't work at all ( I guess that one doesn't use VISA)
              I will try to use the VIs that you provides to build a high precision resistance meter, i.e., I will ask the Yokogawa to make a DC voltage sweep from 0 to 1.2 volts (0.1 volt each step). I have only one Yokogawa 7651, I don't know whether I can use Yokogawa 7651 output voltage to the DUT and measure the currrent sinked by the DUT simutaneously ( I guess not). So I think I should use another current meter (I have another Keithley current meter)
              Thanks again.

  • How to execute a Java method when row inserted into a database table?

    I have the need to fire off a java method when a row is inserted into a database table. I am unfortunately working with MySQL which just recently supported triggers but these new triggers can not execute a Java application on any event.
    What I am looking for is an event driven approach such that when a row is inserted into a specific table I can fire off a java method (sitting in a tomcat container) that will take the contents and send it to a web service.
    It has been mentioned that JMS may have the ability to poll and monitor a database table. Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
    thanks
    JavaTek

    A service handler might be the right way to run some code at the end of a service call (another way would be to make use of filters).
    First, make sure your static table is merged with ServiceHandlers.
    Secondary, change your custom method name into one that is not already in the service definition of COLLECTION_COPY_LOT (preferably a unique method name like collectionCopyLotLastAction that describes its purpose) and remove the following line from your code:
    m_service.doCodeEx("",this);Now create a service definition for COLLECTION_COPY_LOT in your custom component based on the original COLLECTION_COPY_LOT (copy paste from the original service definition) and add you own method collectionCopyLotLastAction as the last step in the service. Play with the load order to make sure CS is using your service definition of COLLECTION_COPY_LOT instead of the original.

  • Call Java Method from Callback function

    I am writing a JNI wrapper in c++ for a particular event driven DLL. The DLL makes a network connection to another device and then calls a callback function when events are raised on the device. The DLL has 3 basic functions: connect, disconnect, and registerEventListener. RegisterEventListener takes a function pointer which is called each time an event is raised on the device.
    My wrapper DLL exposes connect and disconnect functions via JNI. I can call these functions just fine from my Java code. Now the question... How do I call a Java method from my c++ callback function? I can call a Java method using env->CallXXXMethod(...) from within a function that is accessible to Java but I don't have access to the JNI parameters in my Callback function.
    So how do I call a Java method from a callback function? If this cannot be done then what is the "right way" to handle native event notification with JNI?

    JNI parameters? Meaning what exactly?
    General outline of a callback
    1. Entry
    2. Get the VM, env - there are methods for this
    3. Attach the thread
    4. Get a java object - how depends on what you are doing, but create it or a static reference.
    5. Get the java method
    6. Call the java method.That is exactly correct. The callback function is called from a separate thread so using a cached pointer to JNIEnv, obtained from the original native method, crashes the JVM. The jmethodID and jclass objects (which are needed to call the static Java method) can be cached without problem. The following is the code I used to attach the current thread and call my static method.
    void MyClass::onEvent(int system_id, char* data)
         //get a pointer to the Java Environment
         JNIEnv *env;
         jvm->AttachCurrentThread((void **)&env, NULL);
         //Call the Java method with the newly aquired data
         jstring js = env->NewStringUTF(data);
         env->CallStaticVoidMethod(cls, mid, system_id, js);
    }My last question is about cleanup in this function. When I use NewStringUTF to "convert" my char* to jstring do I need to do anything special to clean up or will the Java garbage collector take care of it since the jstring is being passed to a Java method?
    Thanks for you help
