Abobe 9: Printing a PDF file using a DOS command

I have Adobe 9.4.0 on a server and would like to print PDF files using a DOS command. The DOS command we are using is:
start Acrord32.exe /T/S/h/O "C:\BO_Archival_Code_Deployment\Print\TINF018_C.pdf" "Lexmark T644 PS3 - 10.192.36.126"
With this, we are able to print only page 1 of the PDF file. The other pages remain unprinted. This means there is no issue related to printer configuration, firewalls, etc.
Other observations:
1) When we print the file manually after opening it in Adobe 9.4.0, all pages are printed.
2) We found that the above command provides different results with Adobe 8.2.6 i.e. with the DOS command, all pages are printed while using Adobe 8.
We are trying to automate some tasks for which we require the PDF files to be printed automatically through a DOS command. We are being advised to use Adobe 9 as technical support for Adobe 8 is likely to be withdrawn soon.

Well, I looked for where to delete this but didn't see it.
NEVERMIND; I forced iPhoto to quit and restarted and everything seems fine.
BTW, I did get one thing wrong. When I looked at both iPhoto libraries with FINDER, the active one and the archived one both showed content as far as file size goes.
It was because I was viewing the files through Adobe Bridge that it was showing 0 GB's; for whatever reason.

Problem creating PDF file using the Adobe PDF printer

Apologies if I have hit the wrong forum for this issue.
I am using Adode Acrbat 9 PRO version 9.4.6 on a Windows 7 SP1 machine.
I am running an application that presents information on web pages that I need to capture as pdf files. I am using an automation tool so it is limiting my posibilities of accomplishing this task.
I am attempting to use the Adobe PDF printer as the vehicle to create these PDF files but have encountered the following issues
The page is truncated on the right hand side
Only 1 page is created when I was expecting 7
I have specified a file path for the ADOBE PDF Output Folder ... C:\Windows\Temp and
checked the box "Add document information" but I am not given the opportuniy to enter a file name. It is using the file name from the URL
To verify my PDF content I used a different method to create the PDF from the same web page
Right click within the web page and select Convert to Adobe PDF. The pdf file has the full content with no truncation and is 7 pages in total.
Unfortunately I am unable to use this method with my automation tool
Any pointers will be gratefully received

Some progess
I changed the page orientation to landscape and that removed the truncation. I am not sure why it is not using the "shrink to fit" but for the purposes of this exercise I can live with this solution.
If I click Print Preview I can view all pages and then if I select the Print Icon I get a PDF file containing all pages. This is so bizarre.
So to recap
File > Print > Adobe PDF Printer only creates 1 page
File > Print Preview > Print Document (Alt +P) > Print >Adobe PDF Printer creates 7 pages
I guess this would be a good time to call support to see what they have to say on this topic.

Unable to print PDF files using Acrobat 8.

I had to uninstall and then reinstall Office for Mac 2011. I don't know if it's related or not, but since doing so I have been unable to print PDF files using Adobe Acrobat 8. While you are having difficulty in printing a PDF file, you may try the subsequent steps. If you are in a rush and would like to print a simple document such as a letter, a form, or a calendar, you may print it as an image. Next option is that you may need to update your printer driver if the PDF does not print, the PDF prints as a blank page or with unreadable text or if you get an error message when you print. Sometimes, when you print a file that is on a thumb drive or a network, the file gets damaged. Then you have to open the copy on your hard drive and print again. At last, you can try printing the PDF using another printer and check your printer connection too if the PDF does not get printed. get more help to fix unable to printer PDF file hope this helps you.

My GUI application creates a pdf document which I need to print. I want to achieve this using the standard Java class PrinterJob (no 3rd party APIs I'm afraid, commercial restraints etc ..). I had a stab at it using the following code. When executed I get the pretty printer dialog then when I click ok to print, nothing happens!

How to "print" to a PDF file using several templates?

I have Adobe Acrobat X Professional.
Now I want to export my documents (letters, bids, invoices etc. from my ERP) to PDF files using the Adobe PDF printer driver using different layout templates for example: we have two different letterheads (already PDF files) and some of the documents have to be exported/merged onto the first, and others have to be exported/merged onto the second letterhead.
Are there any options on how to select different templates in the Adobe PDF printer.
And if not, are there any solutions how to integrate this functionality into Adobe PDF printer.
Any help is greatly appreciated

ok, that's right. i also can use the add layer command to create the text over the letterhead.
but this is impractical. the users should be able to export the document using the desired template.
i need a superimpose feature or something like that for the pdf writer. hopefully it will be implemented

Print PDF file using Acrobat SDK - Warning message

Hello,
We are trying to create automatic program in c# that will print all pdf files located in a specific folder, using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 SDK.
Whenever the application tries to print file, we receive a warning message ("WARNING! A script has requested to print an Acrobat file. This could print an entire document. Do you want to proceed printing?").
If we press yes, the file is printed, but next time we'll run the application, this message will appear again.
Since this application supposed to run automatically (with no interaction with the end users), we want to prevent this warning message from appearing.
How can we eliminate this warning message?
Is there any other way to print PDF files using Adobe Acrobat from another application?

joeln3: I believe the original post refers to a client application, not a web page. Why use JavaScript from within a client application? I understood their use case to involve a client app referencing the PDF Library, loading various PDF files, and using one (or more) of the PDF Library's Print methods to invoke Acrobat's internal print routines.

WHen I want to reduce the file size, I either use "Optimize Scanned PDF", or more often use "Reduce File Size". Both are on the Document menu. The Reduce File Size selection has some limited customization that is used, when selected.

Printing issues from InDesign CS4 pdf file

Good morning,
Could you help explain and possibly resolve an issue I'm having with an InDesign CS4 pdf file where the text and image drop shadows (40%) are printing as solid black blocked shapes from a large format printer. The file encompasses 1 overall image, 1 image with drop shadow, 3 text frames with drop shadow effect applied to the text and 1 group set of simple rectangular and ellipse objects with a glow.
My colleagues in graduate school experienced the same with their files and the output bureau's rasterized the pdf file in Photoshop where it printed out with good resolution. Shouldn't this be resolved first in InDesign rather than rasterizing the file?
I appreciate any help and insight you could offer myself and my colleagues.

The printing service uses Acrobat 8 Pro and HP large format printer. My InDesign CS4 document is in the color mode of RGB and color type as Process. I saved it as a pdf file using the standard settings as follows: Preset: High Quality Print, Standard: None and Compatibility: Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3). Are there options I should be paying more attention to when creating the PDF file? Also, I was reading up on Peter Spier's response links.
This brings me to the next question...I'm creating a photo book for grad school with approximately 40 pages of images (RGB, 300dpi) with feathered drop shadows. What would be the best settings to use when exporting as a pdf file for printing services?

Cannot print pdf file using windows 7 64 bit and trial acrobat X

cannot print pdf files using trial version of Acrobat X and windows 7 64 bit prints all other files no problem.
I've done some searching but can't find anything that helps

I fixed this problem. I had to turn off the browser virtualization feature in Zone Alarm Extreme Security. This wiped out all of the Firefox settings, but I had bookmarks, etc. backed up. (answered by original poster)

Printing web page to pdf file using Acrobat Standard 9

When I print a web page to a pdf file, the text in the file is mostly garbled. I have no problems in creating pdf files from MS office or other software. I have Windows 7 Home.

There were problems with IE9 on it's initial release and that may be what you are seeing if that is the browser (you did not indicate the browser and that may be a key). If you have a different browser you might try that one with the same pages to see if it browser related.
By saying garbled it sounds like the fonts did not make it or you have selected "Use Local Fonts" in Acrobat. Try checking the latter first. Then check if the fonts are embedded in the PDF by checking the document properties (ctrl-D). If they are not, go back to the browser and select the press or print job options before printing and see if they get embedded and if your problem is resolved.
