I need to use my new computer for my existing iphone. how do i do that without losing all of my data?
i bought a new computer and would like to use it for my existing iphone. the iphone is registered on my boyfriends computer as of now. i dont want to lose all of my data in the process. how would i go about doing this?
Copy the iTunes library from your boyfriend's computer to your computer. Then when you sync you won't lose anything.

my original computer had a virus and is no longer available. i have a new computer and would to sync my iphone and upgrade my operating system. how do i do that without losing all of my information on my iphone?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For music you cannot download you will need a third-party utility such as Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac or Phone to PC. -
I recently got a new computer, but it won't let me sync my iPhone 3Gs to it. When i click sync, it only sync's what i bought on my phone, not what i had bought on my old laptop and uploaded onto my iPhone. It also says that my computer is unauthorised, i have tried authorising it many times, and unauthorising my laptop. This also means that i cannot get files from my new CP onto me iPhone. Help please
"When i click sync, it only sync's what i bought on my phone, not what i had bought on my old laptop and uploaded onto my iPhone."
That is correct . The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
I got a new computer and need to sync my iPhone and ipad on it, how do i do that without losing all data. I need help ASAP!
If you still have the old computer see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
If you don't have your old computer, but you made regular backups of it, restore the most recent backup using the backup software that you used to make the backup. You will have to read the instructions for it.
If you don't have your old computer and you did not back it up regularly see: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive -
I'm not receiving emails. Internet connection is fine. I was told by my provider that I need to reset my emails. How do I do that without losing all emails in my inbox?
Hi..
If you are using Mac Mail, from the Mail menu bar top of your screen click Mail > Take All Accounts Offline then click Take All Accounts Online.
You should not lose any unopened or saved mail. -
My daughter received an I phone for Christmas and we set it up using my iTunes account. She just received an iPad and wants to set up her own iTunes account. How do we do that without losing all of her content that she added to my iTunes account. I have home sharing on my account.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If she creates her own iTunes account she can't use any protected content purchased under another account. She can play unprotected content synced from an iTunes library on a computer, but she can only download content from the cloud that is purchased under her account.
It's a pain I know, but the longer you put off the move, the worse the situation will become. -
My laptop died so now I will have to use my new computer for my iPhone 4. Will all my data be lost?

I want to use my IPOD Classic 160gb for notepad entries in addition to the music and books I listen to. It is set to "Open ITunes when connected to computer" and "manually manage music and videos". How can I do that without losing some of the features of those two? I just want to add a feature. Thanks
Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores if you are running iOS6)>Apple ID. Tap your son's ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID and password.
You shouldn't lose the music, but if you try to update any apps that you bought with the family ID, you will have to use that password that is linked with that ID in order to update.
Avoid downloading past purchased content with the old ID if you can since you will associate the iPad with the old ID for 90 days and you will lock yourself out of your own, new ID for that period of time. Read more about associated devices in iTunes here.

I am trying to retrieve music that I had from an iPad to my iTunes account. I'm using the same computer for synching my iPhone. I'm logged into my iPad account, but can't retrieve music. It only recognizes my iPhone. Does anyone know how I can get my music? I know longer own the iPad so I don't have access to it, but I don't think that should be a problem.
So you had music on the iPad that is not in iTunes and you no longer have the iPad. Is that what you are saying? If that is what you are saying, iTunes won't "recognize" anything that was on the iPad, that was not purchased from iTunes. If the music was purchased from iTunes, you should probably be able to download it again for free as long as you are using the same Apple ID that you bought it with. Did you try downloading the music again?
Am I understanding what it is that you want to do? If I am understanding you correctly, you will find this to be useful.

I admit that I'm a little confused by your remark about being logged into your iPad account. You should be logged into your iTunes account. -

My computer was reimaged and iTunes was deleted, now when I try to sync my ipad it says it is synced with another library? How do I sync with the newly installed iTunes without losing all of my data on my ipad?
Copy all the content on your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes. Then go ahead and sync the iPod with your new library.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Using my new computer for my ipod music
I just bought a new computer but I have an ipod that is full of my music. How can I use my new computer as the main source for my ipod library without losing all the songs on my ipod now?
hi adugan,
for future posts you are probably better to get results from here:
iPod Discussions
but what I had to do when I got my new computer is this:
plug my iPod into my older computer( the one that is authorized with the iPod ) and dump all the songs back to iTunes ( only the ones that are not already there ). once you are SURE you have back-up'd your iPod tunes then go to next step.
start itunes and plug your iPod into your computer, when itunes prompts you to erase or delete and use this ipod on this computer, accepted it. Make sure you check to see if there is any updates for your iPod using iTunes iPod Tabs.
Hope this helps... -
My computer crashed. I now have a new one and I need to know how to sync my iPad without losing the photos, contacts, podcasts, apps, etc I have on my iPad. Can anyone help?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Some items cannot be redownloaded. You will need third-party software for them - Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com or Phone to PC | macroplant.com depending on your hardware.
You might consider modifying your profile information so we will know what your hardware, OS, etc. is. Makes it easier to provided assistance.
