When i synced my new iphone to my pc i clicked the wrong button - instead of restoring it from my old phone's last backup i clicked set up as new iphne - now it appears all my old texts and my notes have gone. Any ideas how I can get them back?
When you plug it into iTunes - it will show on the left side of the screen. Right click on it, and you will have a list of restores to use. Pick the one you want, and it will pull all of that data. It worked on mine...

I have updated my iPhone 3Gs to the latest software in an attempt to iron out a problem with a new telephone network provider (Tmobile). I had backed up my phone before I did this. Now I have lost my music and apps. I can't sync the phone with my Mac, I can't re-download from iTunes as the phone says I don't have any music or apps available to re-download although it all shows up on my Mac. Working on that now. I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage. Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

Possibly through a data rescue service (can cost a four-figure amount) if you didn't have an external backup.
But you must stop using that Mac immediately, or your data will be over-written. -

My iPhone 4S will charge on a laptop but not from a wall plug. I have tried different boxes and different USB cords from the wall but none work. These boxes and USB cords work for other family members with iPhones and a USB cord that works from the laptop won't work from 3 or 4 different wall boxes that work for others. I'm stumped :/
Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off. It will not charge while the phone is on. Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything. I read somewhere that it could be a fuse somewhere?? Or maybe the dock connector. Where is the best place to get this repaired?

Thanks for the link. It is a wealth of good info. I still haven't been able to determine what caused my crash, but with the link you provided I should be able to track it down. Hopefully it was just a one time thing. After using the power button and rebooting all seems ok now. Thanks again.

Try resseting the network settings in settings>general then go to reset a the bottom.
Then reset NETWORK settings. -

What kind of data are you referring to? And when you say "switched .. to store data on icloud..." are you talking about performing backups to icloud vs. to computer or are you in some app that provides a choice of saving data to icloud or to a computer?

check if you have read & write permissions for your music folder. in finder, right-click on it and get info. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings.
next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and apply to enclosed items like so
