I received 2 texts from notice.verizon-wireless and service.verizon-wireless, saying my account had been "BLOCKED!" for my security.  Is this a scam or for real? What should I do?

Try to log in to your account from your computer.  If it's locked, call customer service (800-922-0204).  If you can log in and all looks normal, forward the texts to SPAM (7726).

  • Not receiving texts from one number

    As of Saturday, between the time of 4:00pm and 4:30, my phone decided to not receive texts from one number, which is an AT&T number.  It was working before, and ever since then, it hasnt been able to receive texts from said number or send them to the number.  I havent been able to get texts from the number either, and we both dont know why.
    The thing is, I am getting texts perfectly fine from everyone else that I usually text.
    I cant figure out if the number is blocked, because I am not the main owner of the family plan that I am on.

    It's strange that you are having text imessaging issues with one contact. I use text messaging all the time and I am here to help!  Do you have issues sending or receiving text messages to anyone else? Can you send and receive picture messages from this contact? Are you using a 3rd party messaging app? If so, please uninstall and trying using the stock messaging app. Which device are you using? Did you make sure the account owner didn't have this number blocked? Did the contact check with AT&T to see if your number is blocked? Please answer these questions so I can resolve this issue for you.

    SMS and MMS are carrier features. There is nothing you can do on your phone to fix this. It's either a problem with Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile. You've reported the problem to Sprint, that's all you can do. About the only other thing that could be done would be to have somone you know on Verizon who can't send messages to you open a ticket with Verizon.

    ok so i just switched from an iphone after having 2 for 4 years and i got a motorola droid maxx 2 days ago. i am not receiving texts from iphone users and i dont know why. i gave verizon my phone and so i cant turn off imessage but i cleared the phone before i gave it to them. i have also changed my apple i.d. and i have deactivated all my products such as my mac book pro and my two previous iphones. this is exactly why i switched because apple has to be a CULT and make everything so complicated. please help me solve apples stupidity.

    That was a asinine and catty response.  I and many others have the same problem.  turning off imessage is not an effective solution.  I have turned off imessage, deactivated the phone with apple and wiped the phone clean.  the problem persists.

    I can send and receive to any non iPhone user. I can send a message as a text to an iPhone user but if I'm not connected to cellular data or wifi I do not receive messages from iPhone contacts.     If you did not erase your apps and data before getting rid of your old phone, try using Find My Phone and erasing everything remotely. See if this works.

    I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
    Delete texts from both old number and new
    Delete any call logs including these numbers
    Delete old number from contacts
    Delete new number from contacts
    Restart device
    Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
    Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact

    You can both share the same Apple ID for purchases but i suggest one of you use another email for the use of iMessage, Facetime etc.
    It is easy to do, the easiest way is to set up an iCloud email directly from your iPhone. Once set up one of you will use this for iCloud services but both still use the existing Apple ID to make purchases.

    Welcome to the EE Community! Provided you're texting an 07 number, it won't cost you anything extra to text someone abraod (provided that's included in your package). It will cost the person abroad to reply (but not receive texts), unless again they have some sort of add on in the country they're present in. Cheers,

    If you have access you your old iPhone, just sign out of Messages. If you do not have access to it, then change your Apple ID password.

    Unlink a phone number
    To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
    Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
