No.
The iCloud services require 10.7.5, or higher.

The ones sold that day will come with Snow Leopard most likely but they will be able to get a free upgrade to LIon if they apply within 30 days. Hardware coming through the supply chain from the day of the announcement will have Lion installed so it depends what stock people have to move before buyers see those.

That listed 7 hours is with very limited use. Low screen brightness, low keyboard backlight, No WiFi or bluetooth.
Most I have ever gotten from my 15" 2011 model is around 5-6 hours and that was with very light use. Just Web, Chrome, and email, thunderbird, and Wifi.

Have I lost stuffit etc or does it not come with snow leopard?

Some users might think the same thing when they look at your profile: there is no such thing as a "G5 imac (27)." G5's are PPC Macs & cannot run Snow Leopard. The last G5 iMac came in 17" & 20" versions & the last OS version they can run is Leopard. To avoid any future confusion, consider updating your profile when you get a chance.

  • Macam does not record with Snow Leopard

Is there a fix to the problem that my Macam doesn't record with Snow Leopard? I assume it has something to do with the new QuickTime. Here's a link to the camera I use.

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use iMovie. There's a iMovie Support Community where everybody has iMovie. You should also post this question there.   https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/imovie

  • Does xcode come with snow leopard

    Hi,
I was wondering if xcode comes with snow leopard? If so, where do you find it?

do u need to be a dev to use it?
You can sign-up for a "Free" Apple Developer Connection account which gives you access to newer versions of Xcode, as well as additional developer resources.

  • Does icloud come with Snow Leopard?

I just recently upgraded to Mac OS X Snow Leopard and there is not an icloud icon in my system preferences.  What to do?

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • My Safari and Itunes keeps crashing after doing latest updates to my computer.  I have read on here of similar problems but when I try to do the suggestions that worked for those users, it does not work.

I have removed all the cache and cookies files, restarted, etc.  My computer also will not let me log onto my "guest" account to see if safari works from there or not.  I am using Firefox to do this.   I also tried to download the newest version of safari after the old one was "in the trash" and it said "Upload failed".  When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.

    Hi,
    /Users/sarahschadek/Desktop/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari
Move the Safari app from the Desktop to the Applications folder.
    Restart your Mac.
    That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click:  Software Update ...

  • Using ms office 2008 for mac home & student edition with snow leopard serv

    Hi all,
I have a very particular question.
I have a new small business starting up and we want to make full use of leopard and snow leopard server in our infrastructure. We also want to use os x for all our client machines.
We want to use ms office 2008 for mac as our main offfice software but i believe we don't need all the uses or festures of the business edtion and i need to seek good advice and clarity on this.
We won't ever use any microsoft exchange servers but instead willl use the apple mail servers and all the other apple server services.
My question is, based on the fact that we will have an all apple mac os x backend and client frontend but want to use the ms office for mac as our business software, and also based on the fact that we wont use the "Build your Brand clip art, Build your skills by lynda.com, the Remote Desktop for mac 2, the Microsoft Exchange Server Support and the Microsoft Windows sharepoint services support, do we really need to go for the business edition? Can we not just use the home and student edition and get the same functionality using everything else apart form what we listed as we wont need these?
The other question is, the Entourage 2008, Web services Edition, will this work with an apple backend instead of ms exchange server?
Kind regards and thanks for your wise advice,
    Neil Watson

    Thanks, Kurt--I understand now.
One reason I was alarmed was that evidently when the tech installed Office 2008, something went awry with either the key installer or the key code, because when I finished the first two updates (12.1 and 12.2), I tried to open Entourage to see if the problem I'd been having was resolved. Instead of opening, Office gave me a message that my product key was invalid!  I did find the product key, and called the tech, who will come by to see what's wrong (he's an honest guy, so I'm sure it's a legitimate error of some kind, not a pirated copy). But the thought of installing two pages of updates and maybe running into the same glitch every time made me blanch.  So I'm glad to know that Microsoft is still doing Service Packs for 2008!

  • Are macs going to come with snow leopard when it comes out?

or is it going to be a separate upgrade to today's leopard? because i wanted to buy a macbook now but i dont know if it would be better to me and save the 9.99 fee for the upgrade if i just wait until september.

i wanted to buy a macbook now
If you want it now, buy it now.
You are going to spend over $1000.00 for a new MacBook, and the $10 Up-to-Date (less than 1 tenth of 1 percent of that price) is too much for you to have a MacBook today and use it for 2+ months?
What is the value of your enjoyment?
However, the following Apple web page says
    <http://www.apple.com/macosx/>
    Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Coming September 2009 with every new Mac.
So does that work for you?
NOTE: Current inventory will still have 10.5 installed, so it will depend on where you buy. Items coming from the on-line Apple Store will most likely start shipping with 10.6.
Brick and Morter Apple Stores (BestBuy, and other mail-order outlets, etc...) may be still be selling existing inventory for the first few days. If buying from one of these, verify which version of Mac OS X is on the system, and inquire if they will provide the upgrade for free.

  • Mac 10.6.5 with Snow Leopard

Cant update to windows 7 unless I change from 32 bit to 64 bit. Is the part available or how do I resolve the matter?

Is the part available or how do I resolve the matter?
What part? There are no separate 32 and 64 bit versions of OS X. The only hold up would be whether or not your Mac can boot 64 bit at all. And no Macbook will boot 64 bit. Only the Macbook Pro has that capability.
I'm assuming your current version of Windows Vista is 64 bit, so you're allowed only a 64 bit upgrade disk? That would mean you're upgrading a machine specific version of Vista, such as a copy that came with a Dell, Sony, or whatever other PC.
You can't use such a disk in Boot Camp anyway since such manufacturer supplied versions of Windows are tailored to that hardware. What you need is either a full version copy, or upgrade copy of the dual retail version of Windows 7. Dual retail copies come with both 32 and 64 bit versions or Win 7 in the same box.
I have two Win 7 licenses. On my Mac Pro, I installed the 64 bit version since it is capable of booting 64 bit. But on the older iMac, we had to install the 32 bit Win 7 since the iMac does not have a 64 bit EFI.

  • So why does my Macbook with Snow Leopard tell me I don't have permission to save things to my Seagate and never does on my iBook with Leopard?

I mean who's permission do I need to save or change my own files

I set up an administrative password, does this possibly have to do with the fact that I did that?

  • Replacing Lion with Snow Leopard

Four months ago I downloaded the OS X Lion through the App Store.
I have nothing but problems with Safari ever since.
I have to reconnect to my wi-fi network every time I start the computer.
For some reason it won't remember my preferences.
    Here is my quetstion...
If I purchase Snow Leopard software, can I reinstall it in my Mac and get rid of Lion?
    I appreciate the advice.
    Tim

If it came with Snow Leopard then you can reinstall Snow Leopard, per my instructions, using the original installer DVD that came with the computer. No need to purchase Snow Leopard if you already have it.
If you were willing to take the time and effort, then I would suggest reinstalling Lion from scratch. But that would require backing up your data beforehand, re-installing Snow Leopard then re-downloading Lion, erasing the drive, installing Lion, and finally, restoring your data.
Or, you can simply try reinstalling Lion which will not erase your files:
    Reinstalling Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.
Sometimes this fixes a lot of problems that may have been created by upgrading over a not so pristine Snow Leopard system.
I have two iMacs from 2010 working quite well with Lion along with several other Macs running Lion. But this is your decision to make. All I can do is to suggest alternatives or provide you with how to accomplish your goal.

  • Can you tell me why iPad 2 is not cannot to laptop with snow Leopard it doesn't cannot it

Can you tell me why iPad 2 is not cannot to laptop with snow Leopard it doesn't cannot it

You question is garbled. Are you saying your iPad cannot connect to a laptop with Snow Leopard? Restart your computer. Start iTunes and check for updates. If there are any updates to itunes download and install it. Then restart your computer and start iTunes.
Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.
Finally connect your iPad to your computer. Use a USB on your computer that is not on the keyboard or connected to a hub.
If you do these things and it still doesn't show up in iTunes on your computer report back here and explain clearly just what happened.
