i recently lost my 3rd Gen iPod and ive been using find my iPhone to send messages to it, my email then instantly tells me that it had been displayed or it suonded off however it doesn't find the iPod's current location. you guys think this app actually works? i feel like my alerts are just bouncing back at me. please help. Thanks!

... AFAIC Location Services is a joke.
With both devices sitting side by side on my kitchen table, Location Services has NEVER shown the devices to be any where close to each other, and at times Location Services has been as much as a 1/4 of a mile off between the two devices.
Your iPod Touch has no GPS receiver so determining its location relies upon wireless routers whose location is known. Its "location" is actually that of a wireless router. Your iPhone 4 can use GPS, cellular triangulation, and Wi-Fi. One would think GPS would be most accurate but urban areas have a greater density of cells and GPS signals are easily obstructed so cellular triangulation is often more accurate.
Therefore the two devices' locations can be expected to be different. Differences of a quarter mile are easily explained if you understand how location services works: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1975
Skyhook Wireless (I think Apple uses its own database now): http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/
Location Services is not a "joke"; its intended use is for basic navigation and for such applications as determining where the nearest restaurant is. It cannot tell you that your iPod is under the couch cushions and that your iPhone is in the car.

I have snapcat but when I recieve one i dont get a notification....how do i fix that so i get noticfications when i recieve one?

You may be able to restore the iPod to operation by:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
Otherwise you need service. Likely the screen needs to be replaced. To do it yourself see:
    iPod Touch Repair – iFixit
Apple will exchange it for this price.

  • I recently lost my ipod and i wanted to ask if anyone has seen it?

it was lost on december the 3rd in 2011.

SInce you did not give a location your chances are about zero of getting any good responses.  Even if you gave you location the the change of good respnseis only very vry slightly better.

  • I am trying to download an app onto my ipod and everytime i try it has me verify my account info, once i do it tell me that i need to contact support. how do i fix this?

Does anyone know how to fix this?

SOmeone else posted a similar post.  Check your settings to make sure your account hasn't disabled downloads/updates or restricked to a data amount/Wifi only, or secure Wifi, etc.
IMO you need to go to the Apple Store if none of what I typed is helpful.
Hope this helps you.....I assume your phone is not jail broken.

You're back to old school. Think of the last place you had it and go from there.
    Good luck

  • Ive lost my ipod and i havent downloaded the "find my ipod" what should i do?

ive lost my ipod and i havent downloaded the "find my ipod" what should i do?

You do not need to download anything. All you needed to do is go to Settings>iCloud and turned on the FindMyiPod feature. If on and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in and click on FindMyiPhone.
    See:
iCloud: Troubleshooting Find My iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac
Restoring the iPod will permently delete the Find feature.
Otherwise report to police, look for it the old fashioned way and change the passswords for all accounts used on the iPod.

I lost my iPod and want to know if wireless I can downloaded find my iPod

If you turned on Find My iPod on your iPod Touch before it was lost, then you can go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account and locate it as long as it is connected to the internet (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442).  If you did not turn this on before it was lost you will not be able to located it using Find My iPod.

  • I lost my ipod and i dont have my location services on how can i turn them on from another device?

I lost  my ipod with my location services off therefore i dont think find my iphone can pick it up is there a way to turn them on from another device? If not what are my options of finding it?

    No.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

I lost my ipod and I need to know where is the last location before its off.(its definded in icloud)

    Your welcome.
If you don't see it on the map now when you go to icloud.com and check Find My iPhone, if it is shown on the device list you can click on the device, then check the box next to "Notify me when found" (see image below) and you will receive an email when it goes back online, if ever.  The email is sent to the email address associated with your iCloud ID.
There's nothing else you can do.  I don't believe iCloud support can tell you it's last location either once it's cleared from the map.

I recently lost my iPhone and tried to use "Find my iPhone" but did not see my phone listed. Why is that?

If it is not turned on and connected to the Internet it will not show up.  If has been restored to factory condition it will not show up.

  • Lost my iPod and cannot locate it!

I've lost my iPod and cannot locate it. Is there any other way to remove app's and/or erase the device?

You can try to wipe it remotely and as soon as it is connected to a network again, the device will be erased.
Apple - iCloud - Find your missing Apple device.
But this will only work if the device is still registered to your Apple ID when joining a Wi-Fi network.

The only way you will be able to track that iPod is if it is turned on and connected to a wifi network by the person that has it.

i lost my ipod and its not conncected to the wifi at my house where i lost it,, how do i get it back online to find it?!?!?!

Nothing you can do but physically look for it.  If it's offline it can't be tracked.
