Here is how to do this:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Disks icon at the top of the AirPort Utility window
Click the Disks tab below the icons
Click Erase
The "Quick Erase" option will only take a moment or two
Now you can backup your MacBook Pro. If you connect an Ethernet cable from the MBP to one of the LAN <-> ports on the TC, the first backup will go 3-5 times faster than wireless.
Once you have the first backup done, you can use wireless for subsequent backups since they will only take a few minutes

Which operating system are you running on?
The date & Time can be displayed by going to the View menu and checking Details - also File Names if you want them displayed.
The Album information is saved within the catalog so it sounds as though you didn't do a catalog backup on the old computer and a catalog restore on the new computer which is the recommended way of transferring elements data. Did you just copy the photos over?

Log in from one account, drag the other account's home folder from the Users folder to the desktop, provide your administrator password, move anything you want into the corresponding location of the current account's home folder, and use the Accounts pane of System Preferences to remove the other account. You cannot delete a logged-in account or the only administrator account on the machine from System Preferences.

It's a permissions problem. Try this: right click on your iTunes icon and choose "run as administrator" that might fix it.

its very annoying but you have to log out of your account. than try to buy the sone. it will ask you to sign in. do it. the sond will start to download. it only works once, so you have to do it over and over for every song :/

My older classic (6 yrs or more) will not sync even though is recognized in iTunes 11. I have a new computer with Windows 7 vs my old one that had XP. Does this matter? Thanks planb77. Your instructions worked but I had to do a little more than you stated. I did not realize that transferring files to a new computer was not enough. When the iPod synced I was told I needed to "authorize" my new computer to get my iTunes purchases to sync to the iPod. So after the initial sync, I ejected and disconnected the iPod, went into the iTunes store, set up "home sharing" and then authorized the new computer. When that was done I reconnected the iPod and was able to sync all my books and music. The only thing I couldn't do was rename the iPod as iTunes never asked me to. Is there a way to rename it after it has been set by iTunes as "owner's iPod"?

Just in case you are not aware of this, you can probably use your external drive, which you presumably now no longer need for your PC, as the backup drive using the Mac's Time Machine. If you still have any Windows specific files that you want to keep, it is really easy to partition the drive so that you can keep Windows files and Mac files in different partitions.

Try a soft reset - press the home and power bottons and keep them pressed until the Apple logo comes on. Then see if you can access Settings.

Here's an easy way:
Pick the user that you want to eliminate (making sure that the remaining user has administrator privileges) and move all of the data that you want to keep into the Shared folder. Reboot or log out and login to the user you want to keep. Copy all the data from the Shared folder into your account - placing it neatly in folders (Documents, Music, Movies, etc.).
Once the data is moved, log into the account you want to delete just once more to make certain that you've grabbed all the data you want to keep. Log out and log back into your admin account and go to System Preferences>Users & Groups and delete the 'old' user.
That should do it.
