so basically this morning I rented planet of the apes the new one and have been having some sort of difficulty getting it to play it wont open in itunes suggests I use quik time which I downloaded and when I go to use that there is no visual or Audio play back what so ever it appears to read the chapters but nothing else I have been going through faqs for like 4 hours now with no luck can somebody throw some feedback my way let me know if there is something else I can do I am using windows xp downloaded a divx and my computor should be compatible but its not working out

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache. If it continues to fail try using a different browser.

As far as the prices, the difference is likely the laptop version is the SD version and the iPad one is available in HD. That's the only reason you'll see a price difference. It has nothing to do with the device with movies/movie rentals. Apps yes, these no.

When I save XY plots as a jpeg file, I lose my resolution. The plot automatically fixes the resolution and I lose some data. Is there a way to change these settings so that I get a carbon-copy of my graphs ? Thanks !

jpeg is a lossy image compression. Try seeting the "quality" input to 100 (default is 80).
I would recommend to use PNG instead, it's a better format for this purpose. (jpeg is for photographs).

We have a bunch of our movies on a hard drive and they play fine with Quick Time, but when we try to copy them to itunes, itunes quits and stops working. does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem?
