I signed into icloud on my phone and then lost all my contacts. what should i do to get the contacts back?

I signed into icloud on my iphone 6 and somehow all my contacts are now gone in my address book.
Does anyone know how to retrieve the contacts. The message said if I signed out of icloud I'd lose
all photo streams and any data on the phone. Can someone help???

I'm afraid you're out of luck. If it says incomplete you won't be able to access the backup.

It sounds like she deleted them all from your icloud account. If you have an iTunes backup, try this to possible recover your deleted contacts. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4108
If that doesn't work, you might be stuck as Apple doesn't usually have a backup plan for intentional user deletion. You can try to call Apple though and see if there is anything else they can do to try and recover that deleted info for you.

Pictures taken with the phone are part of the backup. So, if you still have a backup from before that happened, restore from it and all photos taken up to that point in time will be restored, if they were inside the camera roll.

What application were you syncing your contact to before you updated? Check the settings on the info tab and sync them back.
If you were NOT syncing them to an application (Outlook or Windows Address Book on a PC, Address Book on a Mac), you can try forcing a restore from your backup again. If they don't come back, they are most likely gone.

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have just set up icloud on my PC. I then went to my phone and turned on itunes match. I have tried to sign into icloud using my appleid and password but it says I need an email address. What are you trying to set up on your iPhone? ICloud or iTunes Match? The two services are separate and are not the same thing.

As long as you have iCloud Control Panel installed on your computer, they should show up in your Pictures folder under My Photo Stream.

Same thing happened to me. From what I have read, if you sign into icloud, can you see your contacts there? If so, there is a procedure to get them back on your phone.
In my case, there are no contacts there either. Now what?
