I think I have been cheated!!!

I have aproblem with my N95-8G the internal memory is not working!!
when i copy any thing to it it says it is full although i have formated it many times
when i connected it to PC it shows only external memory of 64 M
my friends telling me it is a fake N95 phone Chinees or korian one
ooooh!!! no I this real!!! how can i be sure
by the way how can i change the cover of my phone
Solved!
Go to Solution.

The easiest way to see if it's a fake is to connect it to your computer using the USB cable that was in the box.
It will give you a list of choices and if one of them is "webcam" or "com port" then it is a fake.
Also dial *#0000# and post here exactly what it says, word for word in the same layout as on screen.

  • I think I have Been Speed Capped

    Hi all
I am on Option 3, Unlimited....
Last month my hard drive packed in and I lost all my iTunes library, Apple let me download it all again and my download usage for last month was 220GB.
At 4.30 today I did a speed test and I got 23mbps (my profile is set at 25mbps) with an upload of 1.6mbps (profile is 2mbps).
At 5.13 I did another test and my download speed was now 2.25mbps and the upload was is still 1.6mbps.
I changed anything on the router that I though could be at fault, I connected my laptop directly to the HH3 but the speed stayed the same.
It has now dawned on me that I might have been capped, but how can this be?
I thought the download limit was 300GB?  I used 220GB last month and am currently sitting at 40GB now, I did not receive a letter or email from BT to tell me that this was happening.
The only thing I can check is that after 12am my speed goes back to normal.
If it does where do I stand?  I know I did not go over the limit last month.

    Think I spoke to soon.
My download is still the same but my 10mbps sync speed is barely getting over 1.6mbps when I test it.
It was working fine up until 2pm this afternoon, getting 8mbps when I tested it, I have not changed anything so I have no idea what is going on.
I have tried to use the BT speed tester but it keeps freezing.
This is really starting to annoy me now, seems whatever BT gives me works for about a day then screws itself up.

  • I think I have been billed 8 times for a product I...

    Hi,
I just tried to purchase the Soundhound app from the Ovi store for my Nokia C7. I use my phone bill for purchases. I was asked to confirm the purchase which I did. I waited then a message came up saying there was a problem with the billing service and I should try again later, so I exited the screen
Almost immediately I was bombarded with 8 identical SMS messages from OviStore (82102) saying "Thankyou for your purchase from OviStore by Nokia. Your transaction ID is (all different numbers in each text)".
Also there was no link in any of them to my download! I have a suspicion I have been billed 8 times for a product I haven't even received.
Is there a contact phone number for Ovistore so I can rectify this?

I've tried to buy other application today and also had the same problem. I've performed attempts 2 times via Phone Bill and it took the payment twice from my phone.
I've just sent the message about it to support (Support -> Contact us) and asked them to refund the payments.

  • I think I have been caught out by a scam re I YOGI what should I do?

I went to APPLE HELP and clicked on first entry thinking it was THE Apple  help line. I was tired out trying to solve a problem myself and fell into the trap of agreeing to a maintenence contract and a cleaner programme at considerable expence.
In fairness they did get me going, but i am worried that they took control of my machine and may now have accsee to all in my system.
I am well over 80 and should know better
What should I do to protect myself

If you know or suspect that a hostile intruder has either had physical access to your computer, or has been able to log in remotely, then there are some steps you should take to make sure that the computer is safe to use.
First, if there's any chance that the incident will be the subject of legal action, then you should do nothing at all without consulting a lawyer or the police. Your computer would be the principal evidence in such a case, and you don't want to tamper with it.
Running any kind of software to scan for "viruses" or "rootkits" is worse than useless. If I broke into your system and wanted to leave a back door, I could do it in a way that would be undetectable by those means — and I don't pretend to any special skill as a hacker. You have to assume that any intruder can do the same. The "anti-virus" software itself will slow down and destabilize the computer with no offsetting benefit.
The only way you can be sure that the computer is not compromised is to erase at least the startup volume and restore it to something like the status quo ante. The easiest approach is to recover your entire system from a backup that predates the attack. Obviously, that's only practical if you know when the attack took place, and it was recent, and you have such a backup. You will lose all changes to your data, such as email, that were made after the time of the snapshot. Some of those changes can be restored from a later backup.
If you don't know when the attack happened, or if it was too long ago for a complete rollback to be feasible, then you should erase and install OS X. If you don't already have at least two complete, independent backups of your data, then you must make them first. One backup is not enough to be safe.
When you reboot after the installation, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process for a new computer. That’s when you transfer the data from one of your backups in Setup Assistant.
Select only users in the Setup Assistant dialog — not Applications, Other files and folders, or Computer & Network Settings. Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled.
Reinstall your third-party software from original media or fresh downloads — not from a backup, which may be contaminated.
Unless you were the target of an improbably sophisticated attack, this procedure will leave you with a clean system. If you have reason to think that you were the target of a sophisticated attack, then you need expert help.
That being done, change all Internet passwords and check all financial accounts for unauthorized transactions. Do this  after your system has been secured, not before.

  • I bought MacBook Pro a year back I want to know what were the original specs of hardware of this product as I believe that I have been cheated s

Hi, I bought this MacBook Pro a year back , as I am not a professional and for me Apple is a brand that one can buy any product while eyes shut. I told the sales man at the iStore is DHA, Sector H, Lahore/Pakistan, that I am new to apple and reason to buy this product is that I am going to learn 3dMax and Autocad and photoshop on this machine. He reccomended me this machine that I am using right now. After a year when I found a graphic instructor he checked the hardware and he said that the processor is very old and he was surprised. Herer are the specs :
    MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro7,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:          2.4 GHz
      Number Of Processors:          1
      Total Number Of Cores:          2
      L2 Cache:          3 MB
      Memory:          4 GB
      Bus Speed:          1.07 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:          MBP71.0039.B0B
      SMC Version (system):          1.62f6
      Serial Number (system):          WQ03******ATM
      Sudden Motion Sensor:
      State:          Enabled
He said that knowing that I am going to use this machine for graphics, they have actually fooled you, Kindly tell me what are the original specs of this machine S# . I believe that iStores are licensed , kindly help me out, I have given a complete price , but it seems i just paid huge price of Apple sign and the body of this machine. Please help me and tell me how to take actions . I will really appreciate.
    Thanks

Thanks Kappy, could you please how to contact Apple , through email , I will appreciate if you could kindly guide me where to submit my question as I could not find the email contact. will appreciate your reply. Thank you once again.
Apple does not provide support via email or publish email contact addresses. You will have to use the other channels that are offered.
What question(s) do you still want to ask? At worst, you bought a MacBook Pro that had just been discontinued after ten months in production. A week or two before you bought it, it was still the latest 13" model. If you bought it at the very beginning of last February, it was still the latest model then, and the seller didn't know any more than you did about the new models that would be released later that month. While it is a common practice among Mac resellers to offer a small discount on discontinued models after new models are released, resellers are under no obligation to do so, and in any case it is always up to the buyer to determine exactly what he or she is buying and to research whether or not it's fit for his or her purpose. Apparently you didn't do either. If you have any grounds at all for a dispute (which is doubtful in my view), the dispute is with the local reseller, not with Apple, who does not control the pricing or practices of resellers.
You are probably finding, or have already found, that a 13-inch MBP with only integrated graphics processing is inadequate for the uses you hope to make of it. You will need a more powerful machine with a discrete graphics processor and a larger screen for the work you have in mind. Even the current 13" MBPs wouldn't suffice for that — a 15" MBP is the minimum that would do. Sell your machine to someone whose work will be less demanding, and get a new MBP that will meet your needs.

I have got an email of apple support : saying that I need to update my account otherwise it will be suspended and , I have done it and it's only after I done it I realised that it was a scam and it's from this email below and it's asks for your card security number , so I dunno what will happen can anyone help.
    <Email Edited By Host>

Yes, this scam email has been seen frequently  in the past couple of months. Contact your credit card company and change your Apple ID password. Also try to recall the info you provided when you clicked the link in the email. If they asked for any other account passwords change all of them as well.

I haven't experienced this on my computer until now, and this coincided almost immediately with installing this most recent update.
    I'm on Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.2.

    kglad,
Thanks for the suggestion but I have attempted this many times to no avail. As I said in my original post, "I have researched this problem on this forum and the Adobe site and believe that I have tried everything over the past week."
It is very late here (I am in Greece). I will have a further attempt in the morning. The windows machine is hut down. Thanks for your help.

  • My appstore app shows an update available for CodeBox, which I did not buy, does anyone know what the problem could be? I don't think I have been hacked (no money subtracted, etc.)

    Hi all,
For some time now, my appstore app shows an update available for CodeBox, which I did not buy. When I try to update it it asks for my ID and password (all normal), but then it gives an Unknown Error.
I am 100% sure I didn't buy the app, I do not see any transaction on my card or in the appstore apart of this one, so does not seem to be a hack.
Does anyone know what is happening, this is a tricky thing which is making me lose trust in the payment/account system that Apple is using.
    Thanks!

    Hi Gretchen,
What you experienced is a kernel panic:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3742
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html
If you're not comfortable reading through these links and trying out the troubleshooting explained there, I recommend the Apple Store. What you lose in travel time will likely be made up for with proper help. There is a chance you could get a knowledgeable individual at one of the other stores, but the odds are much greater at an Apple Store (and yes, you could also end up with an "unhelpful" person at an Apple Store).

did you try to update your phone with the latest firmware version? did you do your research prior to buying the phone? if you did you would have thought twice about buying it perhaps. there are over 2 millions units sold of n97 world wide or perhaps even more by now. do you see the two million people on this user to user forum? i think not! so just like suggested above take it to nokia care and/or sell the thing and be done with trolling this forum. there is nothing you want assistance with it seems, so go on have you dealings with Nokia via official 'contact us' channels and do what you need to do. threatening court action on this forum can ONLY result in this thread being removed, it's that simple.

  • Feel like I have been mis-sold. Can I cancel?

    Hi,
I have recently moved house and was advised by BT that in order to get the phone-line set up to my house (it's a new build property), then I would also have to take out a BT calls package. I accepted this at the time as I needed a phone-line and with all the other pressures of moving house, disputing this with them was not my top priority. However, in hindsight, I think I have been forced into taking out a phone package with BT that I do not want.
Also, I have also signed up to BT Unlimited but was not made aware of the Traffic Management policy; either by the person I spoke to on the phone, nor have I been provided with any paperwork outlining any of the T&Cs. As such, this package is not suitable for my needs.
Am I in a position to be able to cancel my contract, as I feel like I have been mis-sold these products and have not been provided with adequate/the correct information by the Customer Services staff?

Off course you can, anyone can cancel a contract anytime they like.
I think your question should have been "Can I cancel my contract without having to pay cancellation charges."  Thats debateable

I gave my old MacBook Pro away and no longer have access to it. I didn't think to deauthorize it first. I DO NOT want it to have access to all music in my iCloud or any music that may have been downloaded sinceI gave away the computer. It now belongs to my teenage daughter, who has since been in my WI-FI area and knows that code. I had EVERYTHING removed from the computer before I gave it to her (long story), but since I hadn't deauthorized the Mac,I'm assuming even without the itunes password the iCloud material would had loaded onto her computer. My iCloud had somehow included personal voice mails under Unknown Artist that I did not want on there or shared. How can I deauthorize the Mac Laptop without having the machine available to do it on? Change the iTunes/iCloud password? I should now have my desktop computer, new PC (Aspire) laptop,Ipod Touch, and if possible my Evo 3D as well as my boyfriend's Samsung smartphone being able to access the iCloud account/library--whatever it is called. HELP

Thanks, I appreciate the help.  I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

    1) I have multiple accounts at the iTunes store and none are now associated with my purchases...I think because passwords have been associated with various id’s and I can’t log in and access those purchases.  I want to get back to being able to use one id and password and be able to access those purchases.
    2) When I upgraded my iPhone 3gs, to the latest version 5.0.1 (9A405), is when I noticed that i couldn’t update my applications.  There are two names/accounts on the phone and prior to the update there was just the one.  I have tried entering every conceivable password that I have ever used and get the incorrect password error every time. The apps on the iPhone are apparently associated with several/different accounts.  I just want to get everything back to the way it was.  One id and one password with purchases associated with just one account that can be updated on my computer as well as my iPhone.
