I transferred an audio book to itunes, it showed up and now has dissapeared, and I wanted to sync it to my ipod touch.

I transferred an audio book to my itunes ok. Now I can't find it. The "transfer wizard" says that it is on my ipod. How do I find it? Frustrated.

You can currently only download audiobooks once from the store - have you not got a backup copy of it anywhere e.g. on an external drive ?

I did the new update of the itunes for my itunes and ipod touch (4th generation) and now when I try to log into my apps my apple ID window pops open and keeps popping back open when I try to log in. I tried downloading the newer Itunes, it didn't change anything in my Ipod Touch that apple ID still won't work. When I first updated to the 10.6 I was using a very old version of Itunes and it changed a lot in my ipod which I think had something to do with it now messing up.

Can you find the audio book by using the Search feature on the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the audio book to the iPod?

Note you have to check the boxes in Books pane for the iPod in iTunes to sync books in general and another box to sync Audio Books.

Audio books in iTunes,on a dell

I have a Dell Computer and Itunes on it for my Ipod nano. I have transfered an audio book from my old computer to my new one but I want to put it in the audiobook section. I tried to convert all songs to ACC and it says they are ACC when itunes is open, but when I go to the Itunes music folder, the all read MPeg4. I've read all the other forums that say to change the name from "a" to "b" at the end but in my files there is no a in the name...just numbers. the book i have is 1776, and here is what one of the tracks looks like. "01 1776 0101 103" If you can help me get these into audiobook section that would be great!

Do you mean an audiobook? iTunes will only download these to one computer/device at the time of purchase, but you can make your own copy and transfer it to any other computer that you control.

If your iTunes is set on manual sync, then you have to manually drag and drop. Otherwise every time yousyncyou'll get all changes even if you don't want it.

If you purchased it on your ipad, then you would have to transfer it to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You can then listen to it on your computer.

They will only be where you put them.

Did you copy your actual iTunes content from your computer before reinstalling iTunes, or did you just copy your iTunes library which only contains the pointers to your songs / books locations ?
You might, depending upon your country and if they are still in your country's store, be able to redownload your music purchases and your ibooks via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage - you will need to delete the entries from your library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' messages) before they will potentially show with the cloud icon against them in Purchased for redownloading.
Or copy them from your backup of your downloads/library and add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library

I cannot find my audio books after iTunes 12 update

     I updated to 12 - previously I had audio books in iTunes and was able to select that category to see and listen to them, place them in playlists, move to iPod, etc. Now I can't even find them. How can I fix this?

     I found answer to this question. Select books in menu, then audiobooks appears as a choice on the left - and they appear as before.

A- buy speakers so I can hear the book over the road noise or
B -move this free book into iTunes.
