I used to be able to get free albums on iTunes
Hey, I used to be able to find free new albums on iTunes, with genres that ranged from indie, to "world" music, and I discovered hundreds of amazing songs and bands that way. I used to go through a route provided here on the Apple website, and it would instantly start downloading for me, although I completely forgot how to do so after years of not checking for new albums. Mind you, this was back in 2008-2010, so I don't know if Apple still offers oppurtunities such a this, but does anyone know if it still happens, and if so, how to get to them?

I used to be able to see all of my itunes music on my Windows Based computer via the cloud. One day this no longer happened. I do have itunes Match and it still doesnt happen. Any ideas?

Go to the iTunes preferences, go to the Store tab and check to see if the Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases. Also check to see if any purchases are hidden as well.

I used to be able to sync my iphone with itunes, but now when I plug my iphone into my computer it no longer syncs or even shows the device icon. Could this be because I have an old iphone and it's not compatible with the latest version of itunes?

How can I alter the track sequence of an album? It used to be possible through Get Info on old iTunes, but it doesn't seem to be an option in the new version.

I am now unable to see the artwork.
Is it no longer possible with the updated software ??Correct, Apple have removed that feature. However, you can still see the artwork of the song that's playing; it's shown in the Now Playing indicator at the top of the iTunes window. It is small, but if you click on it, a larger version pops up.
Also, in Albums View, you can see the album artwork. -

i use to just get music from any computer i plugged my ipod it... including whatever account... but lately im not allowed ... it says im already synced to another account... diid they change their policy? ... how do i fix this... i want to be connected to three accounts.... is that what home sharing is? will it enable me to get from all three?
When you delete items (movies, music, whatever) from your iTunes library the sync software automatically deletes those items from your iPod. The sync's goal is to make your iPod mirror your iTunes library.
When you use the "only sync checked items" it tells the software that <only> those items are to be on your iPod -it will delete other items from that category.
I don't have a video iPod to test with, but I think your only option is to sync everything you want onto your iPod, and then turn off sync completely, in favor of manual updates. -
I used to frequent an RPing site until two days ago on Sunday, January 26th, 2014. After speaking with the Site admin I was told that the site no longer recognized me as a "legit person". I have gone through all the normal steps, updating, uninstall and re-install Firefox, delete cookies and history, removed proxy for connection (and all the other proxy options) and even restarting the computer. I have tried accessing the site on other browsers, IE and Chrome and it works just fine! I even have other friends who can still use the site on Firefox! I do not know how to fix the problem, and I hate Chrome/IE with a passion, so I am praying there is some way to fix this problem and let me use Firefox again for the site. As for the error I get whenever I try to get to the site it reads. "The requested URL "(Site Address)" cannot be found or is not available. Please check the spelling or try again later."

I used to be able to get ö by pressing and holding the o key.

Up until this morning, 16 Sept, on any word processor (Pages, Word for Mac, PlainText, Notes) I could access European alternatives to each of the vowels of the alphabet by pressing and holding the letter key.
Now all I get is a repeat of the letter.

I am most definitely the non-technical user compared to you guys. I’m never going to be in the position of responding with confidence to anyone requesting help in this forums; you folk may therefore have this information at your finger-tips.
One of the best features of mac os x that I discovered only purchasing the iMac in 2013 was feature that by pressing and holding down a letter key a list of alternative language options appears. This feature disappeared on Sept 16. At the same time the outcomes of pressing and holding a combination of keys (most used Shift + Down Arrow) or a single key also disappeared. The most obvious of the single key outcomes was the continuous movement of the cursor along a line when Left or Right arrow was pressed and held down.
Initially, the replacement outcome was if I pressed and held a letter key I simply got multiple repetitions of the same letter. Not finding my problem in the support forums I posed the initial problem.
While this solved the problems of multiple repetitions it did not solve anything else.
I finally sought help from Apple Support Chat over a 36 hour period.
1st senior supervisor & 1st Solution
2nd senior supervisor confirms 2nd solution (and confirms if 2nd solution does not work there is a 3rd solution).
These two senior supervisors were intrigued by the problem and both shared the same view of problem and the same solution.
PROBLEM - there is no location within Mavericks OS X that enables anyone to either switch-on or switch-off the outcomes of pressing and holding a key or a combination of keys. Consequently there is no easy quick fix.
Since neither senior supervisor had, previously, been faced with this particular problem they could only project ideas for causes, software incompatibility or a serious hardware problem, which could only be fully resolved by returning my iMac to Apple ReSeller (3rd solution). Having no desire to entrust my iMac to the slightly dubious Estonian postal service, doing this would require two return journeys (taking and collecting 10 days later) involving 4x6 hours of motorway driving plus a 4x3 hour ferry and costs in excess of €350.
SOLUTION - 3 were suggested to be tried in sequence if the first did not work. Reinstall Mavericks using instructions found at http://support.apple.com/kb/ph13871; (ii) Erase and Install Mavericks using instructions found at http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14243 and (iii) return to Reseller.
As had no effect, I attempted (ii) which involved a lot of hassle, but has returned all the functions of the keys.
The downside is that I still don’t know what caused the problem. The only app I downloaded to the iMac on the September 15th was a Garmin Fitness app. “Once bitten twice shy” I shall download the Garmin Fitness app to my Airbook and will keep you folks informed……. -

I learned on this group how to print in black and white. Now I can't. Colorsync shows me only:
color conversion - "standard (checkmark)" or "in printer" (grayed)
quartz filter - none (checkmark/grayed)
Don't know what the problem is. But it's always something isn't it.I have never downloaded any app for pictures. I don't use instagram or any of that stuff. I was just trying to upload a pic to facebook one day and it gave me the option when I hit that little magic wand it has now. It allowed me to shade back grounds and stuff before I uploaded it. Not sure if it was something to do with facebook, but thought it was something on the actual phone.

Thank youDepending on which version of Firefox you're using, it no longer currently supports the plug-in provided with Adobe Reader. You have to use PDF Plugin 2.4.4. Just disable the Adobe plugin and use the Schubert plugin.
