I've deleted all my pictures, videos, AND disabled iCloud backup. Why does it still say my iCloud storage is almost full?

My iPhone 4s says that I only have 44.5 MB of my 5 GB left on iCloud. To fix this, it said to delete some data (which I did, 206 photos and 11 videos to be exact), and it still says I only have 44.5 MB left. I disabled iCloud backup, made all my backups straight to my computer and synced my phone at least 10 times but nothing's changed. Help? I really don't want to buy more storage in order for my phone to say I'm runnung out of it again. I also have an iPad but I haven't added anything to it for 4 months. I only have 10 pictures and 10 apps because I hardly ever use it.

My iCloud storage is almost full. I saved my pictures to my computer and deleted about 500 from my phone. My iCloud storage didn't move at all, it still says it's almost full. What can I do?

settings>icloud>storage and backup>manage backup and turn off Addtional apps and camera roll

  • My iCloud storage is almost full.  I keep deleting pictures from my camera roll and it makes no difference on the backup storage used.  Any thoughts?

See if the estimated size of your camera roll in your backup options agrees with what is reported in Settings>General>Usage>Photos.  If it's significantly different, try resetting your device (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release).  Then check again.

  • TS4009 I received an email from apple stating my icloud storage was almost full. I deleted apps and photos and the storage has not changed, so what am I supposed to do?

I received an email from apple stating my icloud storage was almost full. I deleted apps and photos and the storage has not changed, so what am I supposed to do?

...  I clicked on it (I know I am not supposed to do this - I won't ever do it again) and no window opened up.
You're right - it is never a good idea to click on links sent in an email unless you are absolutely certain they are legitimate, and that is only becoming more difficult as spammers and phishing attempts are getting better every day. Having no association with Verizon is all the more reason to simply delete the thing.
Next, by supplying your email address all you did was confirm to whatever site was sending you this spam that your email address was legitimate. Again, when in doubt just delete the email and forget you ever saw it.
...  How can I check to see if my computer has been hacked and how can I protect it further.
The good news is that is highly unlikely. The bad news is that your email address might be used as the "from" address for spam sent to others, and that you are only more likely to get more spam from the phony Verizon site as well as every other potentially malicious operators.
The best advice would be to simply abandon that email address, but if you can live with the previous potential concerns it would be overkill. I would recommend changing your passwords for financial institutions (banks, credit cards and so forth) as well as your email account or accounts. That is simply good practice whether or not you did what you did.
As far as any malware is concerned, again that is unlikely, but make sure you run Software Update to get all Apple's latest updates.

  • HT4847 My icloud storage is almost full on my iphone.  When attempting to free up space, after I click "off" on some backups and do I also press delete backups?

My iphone shows icloud storage is almost full.  (When attempting to free up space) after I turn off some of the backups, do I also have to press "delete backups"?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
That depends on how quickly you want the space back. If you want it immediately, then yes you will need to delete the back up and start a new one.

  • I just deleted sent messages from mail, emptied the trash and now my iCloud storage is almost full. Is the mail client holding onto cached messages?

I was trying to open up some icloud storage by deleting a large chunk of emails and attachments from my sent folder. Those migrated tot he trash and I emptied the trash. Now I have a message telling my my iCloud storage is almost full. Is the mail holding on to cached emails and attachments or something? They don't show up in sent or trash. However if I do a search for the year 2012 (the year of emails I deleted) in the sent I can pull up this olds emails.

    Hi there Chris,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you saw an iCloud storage alert and tried to free up some space but you're still running into the issue. Take a look at the article linked below, it provides a lot of great information about iCloud storage and should help you free up iCloud storage space.

  • HT4847 If my iCloud storage is almost full will The items I purchase still be stored in iCloud and will I still have access to these items?

If my iCloud storage is almost full will my purchases still be available there and be accessible?

Purchases made do not count towards your storage limit.  They are always available.

  • After updating my iPad 3, I have almost no space left, yet I deleted all my photos, videos, and emails. What else needs to be deleted?

My iPad 3 is for school, so I take a ton of notes on notability. I just updated it recently, and I have almost no space. My iPad has a 16 GB capacity, and my usage says I have used up 13.3 GB. I deleted all my photos, all my videos, most of my music, almost all of my notes, and 75% of all my apps. But everyday it seems like there is more space being used up. I don't get it. It's making my iPad shut down randomly and is not letting me take any photos, even though I have no photos!! It is very annoying! Help!

  • I'm getting a message that my iCloud storage is almost full (5.0 GB, 186 mb remaining).  I have transferred all photos from iPad and iPhone to Mac.  I've deleted all but 200 photos on each of these devices.  Data storage is still same.

I have transferred all photos from iPad and iPhone to Mac.  I have deleted almost all photos from both (about 200 remaining on each).  I do not store tunes or videos.  After making these changes, I still have the same message in iCloud.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Select your device (listed as 'This iPhone' or 'This iPad') then look at the next backup size.  Compare the 'Next Backup Size' to the 'Backup Size' on taht same screen.  If the next backup size is smaller, then you have successfully removed some content from your device.
Now the question still lingers as to why your iCloud is still showing so full right?  Well, iCloud keeps the last 3 backups from each device.  It doesn't duplicate them, but it uses an incremental backup system.  So basically your device's backup will take up as much space on iCloud as the largest backup of the last 3 backups.  With that being said, your iPhone and ipad will eventually shrink the size of your backup (if that next backup size is smaller) in about 3 days (3 backups assuming your iOS devices backup once as day when you are sleeping).
Can I expedite this?  Well of course you can.  If you want, you can Delete the backup from both of the devices via that same screen then go back to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, turn iCloud Backups back on, then backup now.  Keep in mind that if you do this, it will clear out your last 3 backups (and cannot be undone), but it may also take a long while for your iPhone and iPad to complete that inital backup after deleting the old backups.
I hope this helps. (My Recommendation: Basically check what's in paragraph one, then it will works itself out in a few days.)

  • TS4036 I received a message that my iCloud storage was almost full. So I went in settings and turned off most of the apps that we're set to back up in the cloud. I deated many of my photos on the iPad and MacBook. No change in cloud storage. How do I clea

How do I delete items stored in the cloud and clear it so I can get it working? It will not store any more photos. I cannot use it. It is almost full. I don't want to buy any more storage at this time. I delegated some photos on my iPad and MacBook and nothing changes.

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • My Microsoft Silverlight just stopped working. It says that I need to reinstall so I deleted all of the files and then tried to reinstall. Now it says that a newer version of silverlight exists already but there are no versions of silverlight in the drive

    What should I do?

Those instructions are somewhat out of date.  There is no WPFe.plugin.  Even these instructions are out of date.
There seems to be two of these "how do I remove and update silverlight" threads going on at the same time.  Here's a link to the other one.
I was recommending the same thing over there as here with the same lack of results.  So I'll repeat here my last post in that thread not knowing at the time I am writing this whether that suggestion will work:
I only have one idea left.  After that you need to do some google searching on "uninstalling os x silverlight".  Apparently this has caused problems for a number of folks.
Remove the following two installer receipts:
    /private/var/db/receipts/com.microsoft.installSilverlightPlugin.bom
    /private/var/db/receipts/com.microsoft.installSilverlightPlugin.plist
/private/var may be invisible on your system so use the Finder's Go To Folder and type (or copy/paste) /private/var/db/receipts/ and click the Go button.

  • I am about to upgrade to IOS 7, but my iCloud storage is almost full and hasn't been backed for two weeks. What do I do?

This has been bugging me for since the release of IOS 7, as I use this iPad as a student. I have thought of an number of options:
    1. Upload everything to dropbox.
    2. Delete some files from icloud.
    3. Delete the whole iCloud data and then back up what's left on the iPad 2.
    Thanks :)

I believe I am in the same boat with you on this.
From what I have read and the thought process that I have, by deleting the current iCloud back up. It will remove whatever you have currently. Then you can go through and clean up your device (deleting certain photos, personal data from apps, etc) and then create a new back up image for iCloud which will be a capture of your current device. Then proceed forward with the iOS7 upgrade.

  • I have renewed my membership via prepaid card. Why does it still say that my membership is expired and not letting me use any applications?

I had a year long prepaid subscription that was up in August. I bought another prepaid subscription (student edition), and I renewed online. However, my account still has not registered that I have renewed, and I cannot access any of my applications. When looking at the account settings/manage account menu, my account reads that I have a subscription to be renewed August 2015, as if I have renewed and everything. But, my bill does not register that I have paid for it. My desktop add-on also does not register that I have renewed. If I go to renew again, a message prompts that this card has already been redeemed (which I did back in August). How to I get my account to register that I do have a subscription!?

  • I deleted lots of pictures, music, videos and apps from my iPad but it still keeps telling me that i don't have any memory. Do I need to do something else/is this normal?

My iPad kept telling me that it was running out of memory so I deleted lots of pictures, videos, apps and music but I still don't have any memory. Is there anything else I can do/has anyone else had this problem?

After you deleted, did you reboot? Press ad hold the home and sleep buttons until the apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider. Stuff you delete sometimes does not get flushed away until you do that step.
Have you resynced? If so, unless you changed your sync selection on I tunes, all the stuff you deleted was put back on during the sync.
If you goto settings, general, usage there will be the space available at the top.  And if you give it a minute, it will list all the apps you have,a along with their size.  If you tap any of the apps it will then show the data and documents associated with those apps.  You were right to go after videos first, along with music.
