Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Every time I navigate to a new site or page I also get additional new tabs opening which say 'Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 - this page is no longer available', so I soon end up with an extra tab every time I navigate to a new page.

so I am geting an additional unwanted MS Exchange tab/window every time I navigate to a new site or bookmark. i recentlly upgraded to Firefox 5.0 and I think this problem may have started around the same time. I also have MS Outlook but this is stand alone and I do not synch online at all, and have not changed any settings in it.

When i open a new site it always opens up on the side in a narrow window

I used to click on a site and it would always open up in the full screen. Now when I open a new site it always opens up in a narrow window on the left, 1/5th the size of the full screen, and continues to maintain the previous site in the remainder of the screen (4/5ths). The only way I can create the new site on the full screen is by dragging it over to the 4/5ths screen and then x'g out the narrow one on the left. Why is this happening and how do I eliminate it so that each time I open a new site it will open on the full screen?

(You probably didn't set this yourself. If you use a link on a website to have the site add a bookmark to Firefox, due to restrictions on what sites can do, those will always be targeted toward the sidebar.)
If that's not it, have you noticed any pattern in when this happens?

We can't answer that. Maybe the battery is bad and is swelling inside the phone. Maybe someone else dropped it and didn't tell you about it.
Make an appointment at the genius bar and see what they say.
If it's over a year old, then it's not covered under warranty.

Firefox crashes every time when i open it.

Hello i recently noticed a firefox crash. I started it and it crashed. Now it happens to me every time when i start it. Please someone help me i tried to uninstall and then install , reseting but nothing works!? Also i have antivirus protection and it isn't caused by a virus. Here are my crash id's :

don't know what or how but anytime i open ff or open a new tab or link ff wants to automatically download tabs, pages, or links, anything...how or what do i do to stop this...it's only ff cuz i opened ie and it's not doing what ff does when doing the same...

When I open a new window in FFox7, how can I make it automatically appear exactly on top of the previous window -- not resized, not shifted, but directly on top?

I used to set Firefox to full screen; but my new monitor is too big to do that. So I sized the Firefox window to the size I want, and I carefully centered it (using a tape measure to get it as close to dead center as possible).
But everytime I open a new window, it appears shifted slightly to the right (I think that's called cascading, but I'm not sure). While some might like this feature, I prefer it open exactly on top of the previous window; and it's a pain to have to shift the new window manually every time I open one.
How do I set Firefox to open new windows right on top of the parent window (and the same size), covering it up completely?

ITunes reboots automatically every time I try to shut it down, any ideas how to fix this?

Hi! Every time I try to quit iTunes, it shuts down and reboots automatically, so once I've started it I won't be able to turn it off. And further more, if I want to shut down my computer while iTunes is on, it just won't happen, and the only way to do it is by pressing the Power button for a couple of seconds, then a dialog box will ask me if I'm sure what I to do, wether rebooting or shutting down, and only then I can shut my computer down.
Is anyone familiar with this issue?

For starters lets try this .. Close FF, locate your profile main directory and the file "localstore.rdf", make a backup copy then delete the original file. Restart FF, you may lose some custom settings but easy to restore. Does it still crash?

How do I keep from being prompted every time i go to a new site?

Even though a password is stored for each site, I still have to click through the login, even when I am going to a site with saved login information. I would rather it just go without ever asking, as other browsers do. I find this security feature very irritating.

Do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Site Preferences" and the "Cookies" as this doesn't take exceptions into account, but removes all specified data.
