Thoughts?There is no such thing as an unlocked CDMA iPhone. All CDMA iPhones are carrier locked and the carriers do not allow unlocking. All legitimatly unlocked iPhones are GSM only The CDMA side is completely disabled in them.
You can only use a CDMA iPhone if the carrier you want to use offers one. -

Unlocked means unlocked, so yes.
But, support and namely warranty coverage may not be available for you in Norway or anywhere but in the US with any iPhone purchased in the US, even an unlocked iPhone purchased in the US. -

Only the carrier your phone was locked to in France can authorize the official unlocking of your phone. So contact them as to cost/procedure.

Because an iPhone warranty is only good in the country of purchase. You will have to take it back to the USA or send it to someone there to have them take it to an Apple store.

You'll need to sell it to someone in the US, as it can only be used in the US on the AT&T network and is useless to anyone else.
How you go about selling it is up to you. Unless you have friends or colleagues in the US who want an AT&T iPhone your only real option is selling it on some online marketplace such as eBay.
Carriers in India won't exchange a US bought iPhone. -

ValerieI Can't see it being any dearer than the 5S. New models seem to stay around the same price. And as mentioned, you will do way better than Apple's offer if you sold the 4 privately.

No. Any locked phones purchased in the US cannot be unlocked.
You can just buy an unlocked phone direct from Apple in the US, but only if you are physically in the US.
Also, note that your warranty will only be valid in the US. -
