I have now manually upgraded to Firefox 3.6.28 since the normal update did not work for me - perhaps because I recently returned from TenFourFox which shares the same preferences. The Java clock on http://links.zero.eu.org/time/ still works for me.

Compiling *.java for cfinvoke

I'm trying to connect to a web service that uses
complex-within-complex data types for its parameter.
I am constantly getting errors trying to invoke the web
service and it has been recommended by someone on this list (Mr.
Andreyev) that I do the following:
1. Use wsdl2java tool (CF_HOME/runtime/bin) supplying URL to
webservice WSDL to create java code.
2. Create java classes by compiling java code created in step
1
3. Create jar file(s) from classes in step 2
4. Put jar file in CF classpath or just copy it to
CF_HOME/lib directory
5. Using <cfscript> create required objects, arrays and
other arguments and supply them to web service method call.
This is not as simple as it sounds (well, not to someone
who's only interaction with java is in a cup).
1. Use wsdl2java tool (CF_HOME/runtime/bin) tsupplying URL to

This has been done. The tool created a series of subfolders
under C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin which ends in a folder called
schema
Inside schema are six other folders that each contain 1 and
111 .java files

This has not been done.
My command line in javac is: javac @filename -verbose -source
1.4
I get a total of 100 errors and 33 warnings
All the errors are on this theme:

The common theme in the error messages is:

Using the command line as you suggested threw up a new set of
errors but I think I know what is causing them.
The first time I tried your script I modified it as follows:

Note that there is a space between the period (.) and the
start of the path to the java files.
On running this i received back many many error messages
pointing out that
"as of release 5, 'enum' is a keyword, and may not be used as
an identifier (use -source 1.4 or lower to use 'enum' as an
identifier)"
I then modified your line as follows
javac -source 1.4 -deprecation -classpath

The .java files that were created by wsdl2java were grouped
into six folders under /www/schema
Every error message references one of these other folders. It
looks like the compiler is trying to reference them.

I tried creating a text file with an absolute path to every

Why don't you try searching for JSP and/or Servlets at Amazon.co.uk, Doesn't the JSP and Servlet section of the java.sun.com also have recommended books?, I have just done that search at amazon.co.uk and found these three instantly...the top two have reviews and ratings from other people. Compiling .java files during program execution.

I have a program that read events in from a file and creates custom Event objects (which extend Thread) from this information, and then later the events are activated depending on the timing information that was provided in the file. Everything works great however, I would like to add the ability to include custom Events in the file that the events are read from. I would like the program to take that java code information and produce a class file that can be used during the programs execution. What classes can help me do this and are there any examples that anybody knows of, of something like this?

javac writes the errors in stderr, not in stdout.
So replace getInputStream() with getErrorStream()...

This involves creating a little temp table for each record in ticket_no. Then full scanning it.
Change it to

Compile and run a program with Terminal

Hello, I used TextWrangler to create a .c file on my desktop. I want to compile and run the program using Terminal. However, I am new to programming and I am not sure how to achieve this. I have Xcode with Command Line Tools downloaded. I have the file "6_19.c" on my desktop currently. Any help would be appreciated.

Your Desktop probably isn't in your execution path, so you might want to start by moving "6_19.c" from your Desktop to your Home folder. After that, in Terminal, just do
gcc -o 6_19 6_19.c
The general format is
gcc -o <name you want the compiled program to have> <name of the source>.c
Do not put any .extension on the end of the name you want the compiled program to have. Also note that after "gcc" there's a space, then a dash and the next character is a lower case letter 'o', not a numerical zero. There's a space between the name of the compiled program and the name of the source.
To run the program, at your terminal prompt type
./6_19
The general format is dot forward slash <name of the compiled program>
There's no spaces at all.
