I want to create a database in Microsoft Access

Hello Team,
I need to create a Microsoft Access Database from scratch. I need to get consultation from a team member who has done it this before and has knowledge of database creation.
Please let me know if you are available.
Thanks,

Hello KCDW,
These are the fields and tables I have:
Table Name: Districts
Fields: Store_District, Store_Region
Table Name: Regions
Fields: Store_Region, Sales_Region_Name
Table Name: Fiscal_Months
Fields: Fiscal_Month
Table Name: Model_Cat_Dess
Fields: Model_Cat_Des, Product_Des
Table Name: Model_T_Codes
Fields: Model_T_Code, Model_Cat_Des
Table Name: Item_Models
Fields: Item_Model, Model_Cat_Des
Table Name: Fact_Table
Fields: Month, Product_Des, Model_Cat_Des, Model_T_Code,  Item_Model, Retail_District, Retail_Count
I have joined tables such as below:
Regions  and districts are connected to each other.
Anything related to product and item can be connected to each other.
There is not common field between regions and products and months table.
I have joined all these tables to fact table which has all these fields. As a result the top 3 are all connected to each other through fact table.
I don’t have any control on Fact table, every other table has conforming to normal forms and has primary key
except fact table.
Is this approach correct?
Can I create queires by joining region, district and item table to fact table? Does this approach bring correct resul?
If it is correct, can I create a query that has district from district table, months
from the month table and Item_Models  from item_model table and counts for Item_Models from fact table? Because all these tables are connected.
I have 500 Item_Models that they need to run across 28 districts for 12 months. So I need to build a list of 28 X12 X 500 records, then to see what the counts for each Item_Models is.
Can I build a query that concatenate districts and months, that mean 12X28 records and then add item_modesl
 fields to it?
I have already designed the query. But I am not sure that item_models are mapped correctly to the district and months combination.
District month  item
12         1
       a
12        1
b
And  so on
Then join this query to fact table through district and month and item to get the counts for each item in a month in a district.
Can this approach be correct?
I hope this is clear.
I truly appreciate your help.

Large files are usually stored as binary large objects (BLOBS.) I think MS Access calls these Memo fields.

  • Create a database link to access SqlServer 2005 view from oracle 11gr2

    Hi All,
    Greetings for the day.
Though I have seen quite a few posts but just wanted to cross-verfiy and double check hence posting.
    Oracle Database : 11gr2
    OS :SOLARIS SPARC 64 Bit
SQL Server Database : Sql Server 2005
    OS : Windows 2003 32 Bit
The requirement is to access a view residing in the SQL Server 2005 Database using the Oracle Database. This involves creation of a Database link in the Oracle Database to access the SQL Server.
Can you suggest which approach should i follow ( I am able to understand that both do the same job ):
How to Configure DG4MSQL (Oracle Database Gateway for MS SQL Server) 64bit Unix OS (Linux, Solaris, AIX,HP-UX) post install [ID 562509.1]or
How to Configure DG4ODBC on 64bit Unix OS (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX Itanium) to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install [ID 561033.1]Will they do the same job ? And can they be used on any OS and version of the SQL Server Database as version information for SQL Server is not specified anywhere?
Please let me know so that I can it forward with Business for approvals and budgetting.

Your question is similar to the post: Oracle 11gr2 connection to Sql Server using dg4msql problem
    Please visit: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4658942/oracle-11gr2-connection-to-sql-server-using-dg4msql-problem
    Answer on the website:
You seem to be using the Gateway for MySQL set-up rather than the Heterogeneous Gateway (for ODBC connections). Here is an overview of the process
On SQL Server create a database user and give it read access to the database/tables you want to read via the Oracle database link.
In the gateway home each SQL Server database you want to access should have an init.ora located in $OH/dg4msql/admin in the form initsid.ora where sid is the name of the database to be used in the link (e.g. initbob.ora), so create one
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=msserver1:1234//Example_Database
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL=OFF
    HS_FDS_RECOVERY_ACCOUNT=RECOVER
    HS_FDS_RECOVERY_PWD=RECOVER
    HS_TRANSACTION_MODEL=READ_ONLY
You must now add the new sid to the listener.ora in the gateway home using an additional SID_DESC section inside the existing SID_LIST, for example
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME=bob)
    (ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/gateway/product/11.2.0)
    (ENVS=LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/oracle/gateway/product/11.2.0/dg4msql/driver/lib;/oracle/gateway/product/11.2.0/lib)
    (PROGRAM=dg4msql)
You should now stop and restart the gateway listener so that the new sid becomes active. NB a reload is not enough.
You must now add the new sid in the tnsnames.ora file for the listener of each database in which you will create a link. You don't need to do this in the gateway home unless it is also a database home in which you will create a database link.
    bob =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = severname.example.com)(PORT = 1690))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = bob))
    (HS = OK)
NB: The host and port are for the gateway not for the SQL Server database
In each database that requires a link to the MS-SQL database you should create a database link to your new gateway sid.
    CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK bob
    CONNECT TO "ms_user" IDENTIFIED BY "ms-passwd" USING 'bob';
where ms-user and ms-password are the SQL Server user you created right at the start.
Now you can test the new database link
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM "Table_Name"@bob;
Once you have this working you can alter the initsid.ora file to add parameters to suit your connection. If you do it this way you can easily add and manage many different databases via the gateway.

  • Send and take back data from Microsoft Access 2007

    Hi everybody,
I wish you could help me with my application that is very urgent. I have some characters read by OCR and i want to send them to a database in Microsoft Access 2007 and compare if there is a match or not of the data i sent from labview. I want a true or false as a result of comparison in access and send this response back to labview.
The thing is that the characters read by OCR in labview are characters from a license plate and i want to compare those in a database in Microsoft Access and this has to tell me if there is a match or not and send a response to labview to use it for letting a car enter or not to a parking lot. I dont know how to do all i have explained.
And another question, how can i create a database in microsoft access which i could modify while i am running the application i told you before.
    Thanks a lot....
    Cristi@n

  • How to create a database in SQL Server Express 2014 to be used with LV Database Toolkit

I use LV Database Toolkit, which by default uses Jet database. Now I want to use SQL database with LV Database Toolkit. I have downloaded and installed "SQL Server 2014 Express with Tools" in my Labview Laptop. Now I want to create a database in SQL Server, because I think it is a requirement for creating a "udl connection file" (*.udl file). Please help me!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I made a database whose path is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA\depot1
I tried to make .udl connection file, but when I click on "test connection" with the provider: "OLEDB Provider for Microsoft SQL Server" I get the Error "UDL Connection File Failure" (attached below)
When I tried to make the .udl connection file with the provider "Microsoft SQL native Client 11.0" and when I click on "Test Connection" I get the Error" UDL Native Client_1"& " UDL Native Client_2".
    Please help!
    Thanks!

  • What is the best way to create a database schema from XML

What is the best way to create a database schema from XML?
i have  a complex XML file that I want to create a database from and consistently import new XML files of the same schema type. Currently I have started off by mapping the XSD into Excel and using Mysql for Excel to push into MySQL.
There must be a more .net microsoft solution for this but I cannot locate the topic and tools by searching. What are the best tools and way to manage this?
    Taking my C# further

    Hi Saythj,
When mentioning "a database schema from XML", do you mean the
XML Schema Collections? If that is what you mean, when trying to import XML files of the same schema type, you may take the below approach.
Create an XML Schema Collection basing on your complex XML, you can find
many generating tools online to do that.
Create a Table with the above created schema typed XML column as below.
CREATE TABLE youTable( Col1 int, Col2 xml (yourXMLSchemaCollection))
Load your XML files and try to insert the xml content into the table above from C# or some other approaches. The XMLs that can't pass the validation fail inserting into that table.

  • Can any one tell me how to create logical database

i want to create logical database which contain tables BSEG,BSIS,BSAS,BKPF.
tell me how this table will come under hierarchary and
what should i do.please guide me step by step for this problem,i am new to logical datbase.

    Hi,
Use transaction SE37 or SLDB for creation of LDB.
Three main things in creation of LDB are
    1)Structure(Hierarchy in nodes)
    2)Selections
    3)Source code
In structure part we have to define hierarchy as IN NODES
    BKPF          - Accounting Document Header
    BSEG         - Accounting Document Segment
      BSIS
      BSAS
In selections part we have to define selection screens for the LDB
In source code part we have to write the data decelerations and data retrieval.

I want to know what are the things to be specifed on these tabs and the effects. I have gone thru the documentation 'Application Builder User’s Guide Release 4.1' , but the functionalities of these tabs are not mentioned.

    Thanks to dear Jit
    I am new to apex.
I have gone thru that documents but I couldn't find any detailed documentation about the database account authentication scheme configuration
The database account authentication scheme creation interface will show tabs like name, subsription, source, session not valid, login processing, logout URL,session cookie attributes and comments.
I want to know what are the things to be specifed on these tabs and how it will reflect in the login. The specified documentation is not giving any detail about the above mentioned tabs of authentication scheme creation iwizard.
And also I want to know how the applciation user will be mapped to the database account?
As per my understanding a database user (for each run time user) is required for to authenticate the apex run time login other than the applciation schema user (holds the objects of applicaiton)
run time user means - end user who uses the applcaition, not the developer.
    Please help.

    awaiting for your response,
Thanks in advanceI'm sorry, but "showing some error" is NOT an actionable error message. Why do you think we can solve your error if you don't tell us what the error is?
Yes you will need to adjust your tnsnames. When a process in a database_A accesses database_B via a dblink in database_A, the database_A is acting as a client to database_B. At that point database_A is just like sqlplus or sqldeveloper, and all tns considerations are the same.

Did you have a look at the dataguard docs,
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10700/standby.htm#i72073
Which has this mentioned quite clearly,
    >
Oracle Data Guard is available only as a feature of Oracle Database Enterprise Edition. It is not available with Oracle Database Standard Edition.
    Note:
It is possible to simulate a standby database environment with databases running Oracle Database Standard Edition. You can do this by manually transferring archived redo log files using an operating system copy utility or using custom scripts that periodically send archived redo log files from one database to the other. The consequence is that this configuration does not provide the ease-of-use, manageability, performance, and disaster-recovery capabilities available with Data Guard>
So if you want to have data guard, use Enterprise Edition.
