I want to create pdf automatically in my program - my program specifies name

In my application - ex: print invoices. I want to open the adobe pdf printer name the document Inv: 123456.pdf and
put in the folder C:\Invoices. So, my program will create all the invoices for today and they will be in the folder C:\Invoices.
I want to do this without any dialog, no user interaction, etc
I would also do the same for purchase orders, bills of lading, etc
Is this possible.? what product / feature do I need
Is it done by registry entries

Install multiple instances of the PDF Printer. Properties of the printer include whether to prompt for save (no) and where to save files.
Give each instance of the printer a unique name; Invoice Printer, PO Printer and set their Save To locations appropriately.
Your required interaction will be ctrl+p (or File > Print)

  • Using add-ins in Word and Excel, I want to create pdfs to display page fit and with bookmark panel displayed. I cannot find how to do this.

    I am trying to create pdfs using add-ins in Word and Excel through Acrobat Pro XI. I cannot set defaults for page size or bookmark display. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Page size is dictated by what is configured for the authoring file. For custom pages sizes you'd make a matching custom page size for Acrobat (see Acrobat's Help).
    For PDF Bookmarks you use Acrobat's PDFMaker with a supported version of Word or Excel.
    You configure the PDFMaker's Preferences such that PDF Bookmarks can be made.
    Coming from Word the default Word Headings are used. You can also configure to used the default Word Styles.
    Coming from Excel you can only use the names of the worksheets within a work book.
    Alternatively you can create Bookmarks for a PDF manually using Acrobat XI (and earlier versions).
    Note that Word "Bookmarks" are in no way the same as PDF "Bookmarks".
    Be well...

  • Automatically exclude all folders with a specific  name?

    I am using Apple's Logic audio program (but this could apply to anything):
    Every Logic project creates a folder named Freeze Files which is usually very large
    and not necessary (for me) to back up. So I'd like to tell TM to hide every instance of any folder named "Freeze Files", rather than hiding each one individually.
    Possible?
    Thanks.

    there is certainly nothing built in that's even remotely capable of this. it might be possible to script something but it could be pretty tricky. unless you are fairly familiar with shell and/or apple scripting you should probably forget it. Also, it's not clear exactly what you want. do you want this to be a one time operation or do you want it to automatically apply to all future "Freeze Files" folders?
    Thanks.

  • I want to I create PDFs on my new Macbook Pro, can someone recommend a good software program via apple store?

    I want to create PDFs on my new Mac Pro, can someone recommed a download from Apple IStore?

    The Mac OS has built-in PDF generation. Anthing you can print, you can create a PDF.
    In some apps like Preview, you can do "Save as..." to create the PDF:
    In other apps you have PDF options at the bottom left of the "Print..." dialog box:
    Basically you have no need to spend money to create simple PDFs.

  • Using Automator to Batch Create PDFs

    I've been trying to find a way to make an Automator workflow that will take the name of a folder and combine it's files into a PDF with as little manual input as possible and have finally figured out how to do so. I've seen others ask how to do this for a while so I wanted to share how I did it.
    Why would you want to create PDFs? If you have scanned books, photos, documents or anything else on your Mac, you can create PDFs out of them. You can then store these in iTunes and either read them using Preview on your Mac or iBooks on your iOS device.
    What this workflow will do:
    Take a folder with images, get the folder's name, and create a PDF of the images with it's name.
    On the next pass of the workflow, it will send the previous folder to the trash.
    Create/have a backup of your files!
    Create a folder somewhere that you can drop your folders in. Name it Automator Dropbox. You can create one wherever you want, but this workflow was created with Automator Dropbox in mind so you'll need to change it as necessary.
    Open Automator and create a new workflow.
    Find Finder Items
    - Search Automator Dropbox
    - [All] of the following are true:
    - [Label] is [Red]
    This will search for any folders that were done before.
    Move Finder Items to Trash
    This will move the previous folder/files to the trash.
    Ask for Finder Items
    - Prompt: [Choose a Folder]
    - Start at: Automator Dropbox
    - Type: [Folders]
    This will ask you to choose the next item to convert to PDF.
    Set Value of Variable
    - Variable: pdfvariable
    This will take the name of the folder you just selected and use it to to rename your PDF.
    Label Finder Items
    - [Red]
    This will mark the folder you're working on for deletion the next time the workflow is ran.
    Get Folder Contents
    This will grab all the image files within the folder so that it can create a PDF out of them.
    Scale Images
    - To size (pixels): 1600
    This will scale the maximum dimension of your image down (or up) to 1600px. I find this to be the sweet spot for performance on the iPad 3, and it looks just fine. If the maximum dimension of your image is lower than 1600px, I'd create a duplicate workflow of this and leave out this step; otherwise you will be upscaling and your image won't look as good. You can also leave this step out if you want your original image size kept, but on the iPad 3 and below there will be a delay going from page to page.
    New PDF From Images
    - Save Output to: [Desktop]
    - Output File Name: tempname
    This will save your finalized PDF to the Desktop. You can change this to whatever you want; I would suggest the Automatically Add to iTunes folder located in [Music > iTunes > iTunes Media > Automatically Add to iTunes]. You will find your PDF in the Books category in iTunes.
    Rename Finder Items
    - [Replace Text]
    - Find: tempname in [Full Name]. Ignore Case checked.
    - Replace: [pdfvariable] (Drag pdfvariable from the variables window into the text field for "Replace". If you don't see the variables, go to "View > Variables."
    You can't just drag the variable into the PDF name field in the step above, so this extra step is necessary. It will rename your PDF with the name of the folder it was created from. It will also add the full file path, which will be taken care of in the next step.
    Rename Finder Items
    - [Replace Text]
    - Find: Users/yourname/Documents/Automator Dropbox in [Full Name]. Ignore Case checked.
    - Replace: LEAVE EMPTY
    This will delete the name of the path from the name of your PDF. If your working folder is not Documents/Automator Dropbox, change it to whatever that is.
    If you're running this workflow on a bunch of folders, you can simply keep your cursor over the workflow's play button and press the right arrow + enter to select the next item in queue. This workflow was made for using a little human interaction as possible, so if anyone has suggestions on how to improve on it please post below.
    One last thing - if you're seeing a red folder when you run the workflow to choose a folder, it's because spotlight hasn't indexed it yet and the workflow could not find it to delete it. Just go on to the next item.

    Someone (not me) has created an automator workflow that does this, using a shell script that runs the "pstopdf" unix command. I just downloaded it and tested it on 10 .eps files. You will need to edit the first automator action in the workflow to find the eps files you want (by default it looks for all eps files on your computer), but once you do that, it works like a charm! Converted my eps files to pdf's. Of course, once they are pdf files, you can use automator to convert them to whatever format you want.

  • SharePoint Online - Generate or create PDF documents with content

    Hi,
    We are in the process of evaluating SharePoint Online for a project that requires to create PDF documents. These documents are kind of reports that can be generated in the system. In case of on-premise we would have created a custom farm solution probably
    using some PDF creation DLL to create the document.
    However, wanted to know what are the options in SPOnline? The word automation service might not help because in that case we will need to generate a word document first and then convert it to PDF. Also, creation of this word document would again be a question
    to answer.
    Any suggestion/thoughts?

    There is no create a PDF option in SharePoint. (not in on-prem and not in online)
    You can print to PDF in most of the Operating systems and/or browsers by default.
    And you can of course create a document and save that to PDF (or export to PDF or Print to PDF)
    The Word Automation service..... is for Word... as you mention you dont't want to use word.... so that is not an option.
    In general ... WHY?
    If it is for Locking down the posibilities for a end user who sees the document you can also implement IRM (based on AADRM or just in Word itself)
    If it is for publishing... you also need a "source document" and that can be Word.
    So without the whole story it is difficult to advice....  In general if you want to create PDF document and edit it right from PDF and also don't want to use the Office suite, maybe a solution of Adobe like: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud.html

  • Creating PDF file in XI using iText

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create a PDF file in XI using itext. The PDF file is getting created in my target ftp server but I am not able to open the PDF. It is throwing the below error while opening.
    "Adobe Reader could not open the sample.pdf because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged(for example,it was sent as an e mail attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)"
    I am using the below code in my udf
    String filename= "Sample.pdf";
    try
    Document document= new Document();
    PdfWriter pdfwriter=PdfWriter.getInstance(document,new FileOutputStream(filename));
    document.open();
    document.add(new Paragraph("Hi How are you?"));
    document.close();
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
           .getTransformationParameters()
           .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File", "FileName");
    conf.put(key,filename);

    hi,
    I had used custom adapter module for creating the PDF file.
    you have to use java mapping if you want to create pdf without using adapter module.
    You need to import iText library available at http://itextpdf.com/.
    How to use external jar files ??
    External Jar files in UDF
    code may look like this:
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.InputStreamReader;
    import java.io.Reader;
    //1. AbstractTransformation class is imported.
    // The associated jar file is: com.sap.xpi.ib.mapping.lib.jar
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.AbstractTransformation;
    import  com.sap.aii.mapping.api.DynamicConfiguration;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.DynamicConfigurationKey;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformationException;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.TransformationInput;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.TransformationOutput;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.InputHeader;
    public class xyz extends AbstractTransformation {
    public void transform(TransformationInput inp, TransformationOutput out) throws StreamTransformationException {
         getTrace().addInfo("JAVA Mapping Called");
                         InputStream inData = inp.getInputPayload().getInputStream();
                        // pdf conversion code
                        out.getOutputPayload().getOutputStream().write(outData.getBytes("UTF-8"));
    check http://help.sap.com/javadocs/pi/SP3/xpi/index.html for java mapping api.
    Thanks.

  • Problems with black color creating PDF from Excel 2013

    Hi
    I want to create PDF from Excel 2013 using Adobe Acrobat distiller. When I do so I have problem with black which is 300 percent black instead of 100K. Problem is only with drawed lines from Excel's symbol menu (text is fine).
    I use Acrobat 9 Pro and few days ago switched from Office 2000 to 2013.....and problems started.
    Office 2000 and Acrobat 9 Pro worked ok and everything including drawed symbols like lines or squares were 100K black in PDF. Now in the case of Excel 2013 it is not so but when I use export function included in Excel and export file to PDF output is 100K. I am not sure if this kind of export is good for me. I use PDF's as inputs to InDesign. So I would like to have more control when create PDF from excel. But in Excel setup I can choose standard and minimum size and that is all.
    I imported Adobe PDF Settings from computer where these settings worked with Excel 2010 but they do not do same job for me in combination with Excel 2013 (I have 300 black).
    To explain my workflow:
    I am a publisher of crossword magazine and I use Excel to write crosswords. Then I create PDF's and import them into InDesign.
    Should I use internal export included in Excel 2013? Are these PDF's ok for working in InDesign and finally for print purposes?
    Or If you have any suggestion how to create PDF via Adobe Acrobat distiller setup (which I prefer) please give me advice.
    Thank you in advance
    Juraj

    These are tough issues I suspect and the answer you need is probably trivial (it is finding it). I will make some suggestions, but I have no idea if any will work.
    -  In the printer under the Properties>Layout>Advanced>print quality, I use 300 dpi (default is 1200).
    - Under the printer preferences>settings>edit the settings file, I use again 300 dpi (default is 1200 dpi).
    These may not fix your issue, but migth be worth a try. You could also try using the preflight script to change to gray-scale. It may not make any changes, but again may be worth a try.
    All I am trying to suggest are the things I would be looking at. Maybe they will lead you someplace. Others may be by with better suggestions in time.

  • Can't create bin automatically in the testing server

    Dear Gurus,
    I am having this problem:
    In the server for configuration, I create new warehouse and do all the settings, then when I run SPRO > IMG or use t-code LS10, I can test to create storage bins automatically successfully.
    However, in the server for testing, after transporting all the settings for new warehouse, I use LS10 to create storage bins (since we can't transport master data), but the system (in testing server) says that I am not allowed to make (configuration) modification. The button "Create Bins" therefore gray out.
    Question:
    LS10 supposed to be a transaction to create master data. How come the testing server treat it as a configuration and not allow me to create bins automatically? Is this the error from MM side or Basis side (my profile is SAP_ALL)?
    We don't want to create manually since there are  thousands of bins, also we don't want to create an excel file and upload using LSMW because we already have formula and just want to create bins automatically.
    Please advise. Thanks.
    Trang

    Hi
    The transaction form createing the template of the bins and subsequently creating the bins is config.
    I get round this by doing a recording of LS01N in LSMW and then  using this to create my bins in ALL clienst by exporting and importing my LSMW
    This also means that I can create any bins with any numbering sequece in one spreadsheet and load them all in one
    In one of my recent projects I used this method to create 80,000+ bins in approx 30 minutes
    Of course you need to know how to create the LSMW but a developer may be able to help you as it is too long to explain in this forum
    I hope that this helps
