I want to insert a record on a DB Access

Hi!
I'm trying to insert a record in a DB Access. But it goes in error saying that :
-3551 : 37000 : java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in CREATE TABLE statement.
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in CREATE TABLE statement.
what I have to do?

This is coz of the $ sign in temporary table as Access DB doesnt accept table names contain $ sign . Edit your MS Access physical schema and remove the $ sign in C$, I$ and so on...

    and droped the Voinsert .
    when i insert the record the values disappers and the data has not been created in Database.
    Could please tel me where i am going wrong.
    I just stared learning.
    Regards

    1. Drop the VO as a ADF form onto page.
    2. Drop VO->CreateInsert operation as button.
    3. Drop AM->Commit operation as button.
    4. When you run the app, form will show existing record(s) from VO.
    5. Click on CreateInsert button, this will create new record and you can enter values now in new record.
    6. Click commit to save into DB.

  • Want to insert a record using the updatable view object..

    Hi, i am trying to create a new record in my first page using the updatable entity..I set the form in creat mode by default so that it will show empty fields for the first time.It works but want to know the following details..
    1.Want to set default values to some fields ,so how do i override the create method and where(i mean the view object or entity).
    2) internally it is using update query but not insert to insert a new record.
    3) if it uses insert internally, how do i manipulate the insert statement at run time.
    Guys please share ur experience and knowledge with me.I am awaiting for ur help....
    thanks in advance..

    From my perspective, you basically have 2 issues going here, the back end (database) and the front end (web page).
    To simplify your life, test your overridden methods using the built-in tester. You can use it by right-clicking on your application module and selecting test. You can insert/update/delete rows in any updateable view object you have available in your data model. The only down-side is that you can't step through your code (so far as I've been able to determine, anyway).
    As for the web side, there's a commit action in the data control palette. You can drop that onto a page as a button. There's also some tricks you can play so it saves and commits on the same button click, but I don't recall how specifically you do that. I know I've found it searching in here though.

  • Insert Multiple records using Database adapter with Stored procedure func

    Hi All,
    I want to insert multiple records on a database using a stored procedure. I wanted to insert those records using a Database Adapter and the Database adapter should be invoked by a Mediator.
    Can somebody suggest me with ideas whether it can be acheived with OOB capabtilities in SOA suite or not?
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks,
    Shiv

    The use case you want to achieve is feature supported by the DBAdapter and it is possible to invoke the same from mediator.
    Please have a look at the oracle documentation and you should be able to get the necessary information.
    The below links should help you as well:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_db.htm

    There are some video tutorials as well :)

  • Inserting multiple records in to database table using webdynpro abap

    Hi all,
    I have created a username inputfield,a button and a table
    with one coloumn.
    If i enter  names in the input field then the values should be
    displayed in that table.
    Even i have got the answer i am not able to insert
    the values in to database(ztable) table.
    i.e. only one value(1st) was inserted the second value was
    not inserted ....
    so kindly send me the coding to insert multiple records
    into the database table......
    by,

    hi Ranjith,
    If you want to insert multiple records from the webdynpro view table to database table then try the following code.
    DATA lo_nd_tablenode TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
      DATA lo_el_tablenode TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
      DATA ls_tablenode TYPE wd_this->element_tablenode.
      DATA it_tablenode LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF ls_tablenode.
      navigate from <CONTEXT> to <tablenode> via lead selection
      lo_nd_tablenode = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_tablenode ).
      get element via lead selection
      lo_el_tablenode = lo_nd_tablenode->get_element(  ).
      get all declared attributes
      lo_nd_tablenode->get_static_attributes_table(
      IMPORTING
        table = it_tablenode ).
    MODIFY databasetablename FROM TABLE  it_tablenode.
    here it_tablenode is the internal table which holds the value from webdynpro view..

  • Insertion a record in a table having columns of different charsets using OLEDB

    My development environment -
    Database -> Microsoft SQL Server
    2008 R2
    OS -> Windows Server
    2008 R2
    Database Charset -> Chinese_PRC_CI_AS (Windows
    936)
    Operating System Charset -> Chinese
    Below table is having varchar fields with different charsets.
    create
    table dbo.tcolcs1 (
        c1 int
    not
    null
    primary
    key,
        c2 varchar(30)
    collate SQL_Latin1_General_Cp1_CI_AS ,
        c3 varchar(30)
    collate Chinese_PRC_CI_AS
    I want to insert below record using OLEDB APIs provided by Microsoft. Just for information, character '0x00C4' does not
    belong to Windows 936 codepage.
    insert
    into dbo.tcolcs1
    values (10,
    NCHAR(0x00C4), NCHAR(0x4EBC))
    Code snippet -
    DBPARAMBINDINFO bind_info
    memset(&bind_info,
    0, sizeof(DBPARAMBINDINFO));
    bind_info.pwszDataSourceType = L"DBTYPE_VARCHAR";
    bind_info.wType = DBTYPE_STR;
    I have bound the varchar field with DBTYPE_STR. I can see that my code is not inserting Latin1 character (0x00C4) correctly
    into the table. The code always inserts a blank character into Latin1 column (c2) and 0x4EBC into Chinese column (c3).
    Later, I changed the binding from DBTYPE_STR to DBTYPE_BYTES as below -
    bind_info.pwszDataSourceType = L"DBTYPE_BINARY";
    bind_info.ulParamSize =
    0;
    bind_info.wType = DBTYPE_BYTES;
    With the above change, I observed that OLEDB is converting hex value to string. It is inserting 0x00C4 as 'C4' and 0x4EBC
    as '4EBC'. I also tried with adding 'AutoTranslate=no' in driver connection string, but it did not help. How can I insert above record with OLEDB in the above table ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to insert  new records in Master and detail Forms.

    Hi,
    I am having trouble inserting values in both master and detail view at the same time. The scenarios is I have a Dept Table (View Object-VO1) and Employee Table(View Object -VO2) both linked with a foreign key, as per Default HR schema in Oracle DB XE.
    Now I want to insert new record in both Dept(VO1) and EMP(VO2) table via a New page say ( Page2 ). There is a button on Page1 with button INSERT .I can only drag-drop "CreateInsert" operation on that button for VO1 or VO2. So only text box for Dept records are enable to insert data but not Emp records. Is there a way I can insert data in both the tables at the sametime??
    Thanks,
    MB

    Hi MuradRabbani,
    You can programmatically call both createInsert Operations,
    Add to your pageDef both CreateInsert Operations.
    Create a button tha will call insert method from Master (VO1) and then call insert method for Detail (VO2)
    Here is an Example code of calling the operations:
    DCBindingContainer dcb = ADFUtils.getDCBindingContainer(); //you need ADFUtils.java and JSFUtils.java classes. You can find them in the sample applications in your JDeveloper.
    OperationBinding oper = dcb.getOperationBinding("CreateInsertVO1");
    oper.execute();
    -----------------NOTE: at this point you should have set values that compine the ViewLink on the master in order the detail will know where to link the new record there are many ways to do it.
    As an approach try to overrdi the create Method on the in the ViewRowImpl of your Master vo (VO1)
    e.g.
    @Override
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList) {
    //before
    attributeList.setAttribute("NameOfAttribute", valueHere);
    super.create(attributeList);
    After that you should call the operation for your detail VO2
    e.g.
    DCBindingContainer dcb = ADFUtils.getDCBindingContainer();
    OperationBinding oper = dcb.getOperationBinding("CreateInsertVO2");
    oper.execute();
    The detail record will now have the values from your master automatically.

    Dimitris.

  • Triggers to insert the record in a table

    I have two table 1. Holiday 2. Attendance.
    When I insert the record    in holiday table for his
     advance holiday   with empid, the same time I want to insert it attendance table
     automatically for the same date using a trigger
    Insert into attendance (empid,date,holiday) values (20078,07/10/2014,1). If holiday column value 1 represent holiday marked,
     0 represent  holiday not marked. The same thing can happen vice versa
    If employee mark his current attendance as  holiday through attendance,
     it should   be  inserted into holiday table
    automatically using triggers.
    Insert into  Holiday (empid,date,holiday) values (20078,06/08/2014,1). If holiday column value 1 represent holiday marked,
     0 represent  holiday not marked. The same thing can happen vice versa
    Please I am looking for your help , how I can make it using triggers
    to insert both table  in two different ways of options.
    Regards
    Pol
    polachan

    Hi polachan,
    According to your description, if you want to synchronize the data between the holiday table and the attendance table while inserting records into holiday table, you need to create a trigger on the holiday table, please try the following syntax.
    use <databasename>
    go
    create trigger Tr_holiday
    on holiday
    for insert
    as
    declare @empid varchar(20),
    @date datetime,
    @holiday int
    select @empid = empid, @date=date, @holiday=holiday from inserted
    declare @qty int
    select @qty =count(*) from attendance where empid=@empid and date=@date and holiday=@holiday
    if @qty<1
    begin
    insert into attendance
    select i.empid,
    i.date,
    i.holiday
    from inserted i
    end
    Meanwhile, if you want to insert the record into the holiday table when holiday is updated to 1 in the attendance table, you need to create another trigger on the attendance table, please try the following syntax.
    use <databasename>
    go
    create trigger Tr_attendance
    on attendance
    for update
    as
    declare @holiday int
    if update (holiday)
    begin
    select @holiday=holiday from inserted
    if @holiday=1
    begin
    insert into dbo.holiday
    select empid,
    date,
    holiday
    from inserted
    end
    end
    For more details about creating triggers in SQL Server, please review this article:

  • ORA-01654 error message when inserting multiple records

    Hello all,
    I have a Test table with attributes TEST_ID, TEST_NAME, TEST_DATE, STATUS, and want to insert multiple records into this table based on user input form. If user select a value from the drop down list, and the number of records to insert into the Test table, the application should insert that many into the Test table with the same TEST_DATE, STATUS, but TEST_NAME should be the drop down list value + i (1....the number of inserted records). I manually created the form, and wrote a sql for the process.
    For example if the user select MUSIC, 3 then data should look like this
    TEST_ID TEST_NAME TEST_DATE STATUS
    1 MUSIC1 04/06/2010 Y
    2 MUSIC2 04/06/2010 Y
    3 MUSIC3 04/06/2010 Y
    I got the error ORA-01654: unable to extend index TEST_TOOL_ID.TEST_PK by 128 in table space FLOW_13120862905990037739.
    The process query
    DECLARE IDTEST NUMBER := 1;

  • How i can Insert selected records in database table using check box.

    Hi Friends,
    I have non database block, which displayed multiple records, now I add a Check Box to this block and now I want to insert the records in a database table which I checked. So when I press a button, all the checked records are inserted in the table.
    Please send me the code of this solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Shahzad

    I have almost the exact scenario but instead of inserting into the DB, I want to find the Checked records and process them in PL/SQL script.
    I currently have a cursor that looks for all the checked records. It's only getting the first record, so I figured I need to loop through the block looking for checked records.
    Also can I save them to a temp or PL/SQL table to process later?

  • Inserting a record with Functions

    I want to insert one record in to table C, the data is coming from two tables ie. table A & B. In this i am summing one field on key fields F1 and F2, and i am inserting some fields from table B. If I am doing this Using a select statement and one inline query for the sum, then it is giving error unique constraint violated. I am joining the 2 tables with the key fields only.
    If any one know the solution plz. respond. Thanks in advance.

    then it is giving error unique constraint violatedThe key that is being violated is the primary key or some unique key on table C. So obviously the result set you are generating from A and B is failing to produce a unique key (maybe because it is producing duplicate rows).
    Look at you data structures. Look at your query and its result set. Determine what is wong.

  • Meeting trouble when inserting a record into dababase using JDBC.

    Hi, everyone!
    If I want to insert a record in a table of a database, but I
    do not know whether there is already a primary key existing in

    conflicting, i.e. duplicating, with one of the value of primary
    key in the database). So, I have two solutions:
    1. check whether there is already a primary key which confilcting
    with the value I want to insert, if not, insert into database.
    2. do not do any check before and insert the record directly, and catch
    SQLException.
    But they both have shortcomings. Solution 1 will lost time (must checking first)
    and solution 2 will throw a SQLException, and from the Exception, I do not know
    how can I infer it is a primary key conflicting exception.
    (I do not know how to distinguish it from other type of SQLException, for example,
    database name error exception or SQL statement syntax error).
    I do not know whether I have made myself understood.
    Who have better solutions?
    Thanks in advance,
    George

    If I use solution 2, can I get some information from
    SQLException? For example, can the exception tell me
    whether it is a duplicated primary key error or SQL
    statememt syntax error? You don't have to look at the error text. You should
    look at the error code. But keep in mind that
    it is vendor specific. A duplicate key error in Oracle
    has different error code then in SQL Server.Sounds good in theory, in practice it leaves a lot to be desired. First one still has to figure out which codes are problematic, and there is still no guarantee that they won't change. Moreover you might find that the code is used for different types of errors, and that won't work.

    May you can have a look at the sqlstate, this should
    be the same across different DB's as it is defined int
    he SQL92 standard, but I wouldn't bet on it...
    I would bet - against it.

  • How to insert new record into altered table

    I am using JDBC with MySQL. I altered existing table and want to insert new record using java class. But it is not possible.How to do?

    How is it "not possible"?
    Either modify the Class for the new fields, or give the new fields default values (if applicable). If the type of an existing column has changed, then only the first option is available.
    Where's the problem?
