Inserting a record with Functions

I want to insert one record in to table C, the data is coming from two tables ie. table A & B. In this i am summing one field on key fields F1 and F2, and i am inserting some fields from table B. If I am doing this Using a select statement and one inline query for the sum, then it is giving error unique constraint violated. I am joining the 2 tables with the key fields only.
If any one know the solution plz. respond. Thanks in advance.

then it is giving error unique constraint violatedThe key that is being violated is the primary key or some unique key on table C. So obviously the result set you are generating from A and B is failing to produce a unique key (maybe because it is producing duplicate rows).
Look at you data structures. Look at your query and its result set. Determine what is wong.
Cheers, APC

    It would be more helpful if you were to say what happens. "It doesn't work" isn't very helpful.
    However, a quick look at your code reveals that your hidden field that contains the ID is outside the loop (repeat region) in your form. Move it inside the loop like this:
    <?php do { ?>
    <tr>
       <td><input name="dag[]" type="text" value="<?php
    echo $row_rsWijzigOpeningsuren['dag']; ?>" size="15" maxlength="15"

       <td><input name="voormiddag[]" type="text" value="<?php echo
    $row_rsWijzigOpeningsuren['voormiddag']; ?>" size="15" maxlength="15"
    /></td>
       <td><input name="namiddag[]" type="text" value="<?php echo
    $row_rsWijzigOpeningsuren['namiddag']; ?>" size="15" maxlength="15"
    /></td>
    </tr>
    <input name="id[]" type="hidden" value="<?php echo $row_rsWijzigOpeningsuren['id']; ?>" />
    <?php } while ($row_rsWijzigOpeningsuren = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsWijzigOpeningsuren)); ?>

    You'll need to utilize the Commands implementation... hope
    you're not using
    ASP Classic 'cause it's broken in CS3.

  • How to insert multiple records with a single query?

    Hi,
    I've to save a huge number of installments with their other information such as due on blah blah. Now, I want to add the all of these information at once with a single insert query.
    How can I do that?

    Hi
    What is your source data?
    If the source is external to the SQL Server (like a log file, Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, external application...) you can and should insert it all using Bulk Insert operation.
    Pls clarify what is your source data, and if you need more help using Bulk Insert.

  • Inserting & uploading records with Dreamweaver CS3, MYSQL & PHP

    I'm able to build a web page that allows for images to be
    uploaded to a server folder. Also have a web page created to insert
    info about the image into a MYSQL/PHP database.
    My goal is to find a way to combine the two together so that
    when you click the submit button... 1) the image gets uploaded to
    the server folder, 2) the info about the image gets placed into the
    database table, and 3) there is an entry in the database that
    establishes the path to the image.
    Any help or direction to a tutorial would be greatly
    appreciated.

    I use a DW extension from DMXzone (Pure PHP Upload) that
    allows me to both insert data form an online form into a MySQL
    table as well as upload files to a directory on the server with one
    button click. This might be a solution for you.

  • Inserting multiple records with many repeating fields

    I trying to get my form to accept default values from previous entries on insert.
    For instance a user has 10 records to enter into a table lets say it contains 8 fields. In these batches 3 of the 8 fields are always the same and the users don't want to repeat these 3 field entries for all 10 records. After the 1st insert they want these 3 fields defaulted to the previous entry's values.
    Any ideas?

    I'm using BC4J for development.
    Also the records are going to be inserted one at a time.
    So they will enter a record. Hit insert , add another...
    and so on

  • How to insert a record with date format field

    I tried to execute the query of the below but it showed error and hence i did research and found out i can add a date syntax in front to format it properly.
    INSERT INTO EMP (EmpNo, EmpName, Sex, DateOfBirth, Salary, DeptNo)
    VALUES ('E001', 'Alex', 'M', '2006-11-08', '1500', 'D001');
    When i executed the following query under SQL plus environment, it hang and gave no response. May i know how to solve this problem? Thank you
    INSERT INTO EMP (EmpNo, EmpName, Sex, DateOfBirth, Salary, DeptNo)
    VALUES ('E001', 'Alex', 'M', DATE '2006-11-08', '1500', 'D001');

    Normally when we execute a query, it will show the result or response whether it is fail or success or what the error message is. But my situation is that it showed nothing and no response, and cannot execute new query, i cant do anything under that environment and i can only off it by using end task.

  • Insertion a record in a table having columns of different charsets using OLEDB

    My development environment -
    Database -> Microsoft SQL Server
    2008 R2
    OS -> Windows Server
    2008 R2
    Database Charset -> Chinese_PRC_CI_AS (Windows
    936)
    Operating System Charset -> Chinese
    Below table is having varchar fields with different charsets.
    create
    table dbo.tcolcs1 (
        c1 int
    not
    null
    primary
    key,
        c2 varchar(30)
    collate SQL_Latin1_General_Cp1_CI_AS ,
        c3 varchar(30)
    collate Chinese_PRC_CI_AS
    I want to insert below record using OLEDB APIs provided by Microsoft. Just for information, character '0x00C4' does not
    belong to Windows 936 codepage.
    insert
    into dbo.tcolcs1
    values (10,
    NCHAR(0x00C4), NCHAR(0x4EBC))
    Code snippet -
    DBPARAMBINDINFO bind_info
    memset(&bind_info,
    0, sizeof(DBPARAMBINDINFO));
    bind_info.pwszDataSourceType = L"DBTYPE_VARCHAR";
    bind_info.wType = DBTYPE_STR;
    I have bound the varchar field with DBTYPE_STR. I can see that my code is not inserting Latin1 character (0x00C4) correctly
    into the table. The code always inserts a blank character into Latin1 column (c2) and 0x4EBC into Chinese column (c3).
    Later, I changed the binding from DBTYPE_STR to DBTYPE_BYTES as below -
    bind_info.pwszDataSourceType = L"DBTYPE_BINARY";
    bind_info.ulParamSize =
    0;
    bind_info.wType = DBTYPE_BYTES;
    With the above change, I observed that OLEDB is converting hex value to string. It is inserting 0x00C4 as 'C4' and 0x4EBC
    as '4EBC'. I also tried with adding 'AutoTranslate=no' in driver connection string, but it did not help. How can I insert above record with OLEDB in the above table ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Insert Multiple records using Database adapter with Stored procedure func

    Hi All,
    I want to insert multiple records on a database using a stored procedure. I wanted to insert those records using a Database Adapter and the Database adapter should be invoked by a Mediator.
    Can somebody suggest me with ideas whether it can be acheived with OOB capabtilities in SOA suite or not?
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks,
    Shiv

    The use case you want to achieve is feature supported by the DBAdapter and it is possible to invoke the same from mediator.
    Please have a look at the oracle documentation and you should be able to get the necessary information.
    The below links should help you as well:

    There are some video tutorials as well :)

  • Best logic to insert records with constant set of values.

    hi all,
    i am using Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.24.1 (Production).
    i have process type 'I' and 'E'.
    if process type = 'I' then i have to insert five records into table.
    "company,job type,serial,process type,value,created by,created on"
    here all columns will be having same value except value column what i have mentioned.
    that means for
    first record the valuecolumn = 'emp code',
    second record value = 'con no',
    third record value = 'weight',
    fourth record value = 'volume'
    fifth record value = 'pack type'
    Right now i am planning to do like
    k= 5--if process = 'I' else k = 6.
    n := 0;
    for 1..n loop
    n := n + 1;
    exit when n = k;
    if n = 1 then
    insert with value = 'emp code'
    elsif n = 2 then
    value = 'con no'
    end if;
    end loop
    n  := 0;
    k := 0;Is this is the best way or i do we have any better logic to do this?
    Please advise.
    Thanks..

    I have successfully inserted seven records in one form submit operation by looping through the command object execute method.
    However, the data that is being inserted by the command object is repetition of the first record and the command object is not taking any data from the text boxes for the second record onwards. In this I had used the isert record behavious generated by DW CS4 and modified it to suit my requirement. However, the data inserted in the first row is getting repeated in all the seven rows.
    Please help.
    Also advise if there are any free dreamweaver server side validation extensions available.

  • How to insert records with LONG RAW columns from one table to another

    Does anybody know how to use subquery to insert records with columns of LONG RAW datatype from one table to another? Can I add a WHERE clause in the subquery statement? Thanks.

    Insert into ... Select statements are not supported for long or long raw. You will have to either use PL/SQL or convert your long raw to blobs.

    cheers,

    Hi Cameron,
    I suppose to insert an event id and photo name. it's just one of the attempts (with the 3). sorry for confusion. Anyway. What I have discovered so far is absolutely hard to explain, as today couple of times it actually went through and inserted the record.
    It seems that for some reason it doesn't want to execute any sort of query. The query at the beginning doesn't produce any results either. (though time to time it works). I just found out that in order to pass to parameters via url you have to enclose it like this :
    <cfset request.theURLVars = urlEncodedFormat("a=1&b=2&c=3") />
    otherwise flash cuts out everything after first parameter. Maybe it's something related?
    anyway, so far I'm clueless and seeking (shouting) for help as it drives me mad!

  • How to insert autoincrement record and query it with multiple keys

    Hi all,
    I am not familiar with BerkeyleyDB, I am now doing a project that needs to insert records and then query it out with multiple keys at later time. Since there is no field that can be distinct primary key, I want to user DbSequence as auto increment primary key to db, and set other index keys as secondary db, then using join cursor to do query with multiple keys.
    I don't know how to use DbSequence, can anyone direct me to a example of using DbSequence as auto increment primary key?
    Regards
    -Bruce

    I figured out the method to insert record with auto increment primary key. I listed the code block below:
    char m_SeqNamePositions[32] = "MyPositions";
    DbSequence *m_pSeqPositions;
    m_pDBPositions = new Db(NULL, 0);
              m_pDBPositions->open(NULL, pszFileName, szFileName, DB_BTREE, DB_CREATE, 0);          // 无数据文件

  • Problem with inserting new records in Oracle Forms

    Hi Friends,
    I am a new user to Oracle Forms and I need a help from you people. The problem is as follows:
    I have a data block in which I can display a number of records. In this data block the user will be able to edit the fields if no child records are found in another table. I have used when-new-record-instance to attain this scenario. All are text items. One item licensee_id which is made invisible by setting the property in property palette and required=no ( as this is the primary key of the table). Also the audit columns are made invisible.
    The code for it is as follows:
    DECLARE
         v_alert_button NUMBER;
         v_cnt                          NUMBER;
    BEGIN
         SELECT COUNT (*)
    INTO v_cnt
    FROM id_rev_contracts
    WHERE licensee_id = :ID_REV_LICENSEES.licensee_id;
    IF v_cnt > 0 THEN
    set_item_property('ID_REV_LICENSEES.LICENSEE_NAME', UPDATE_ALLOWED, PROPERTY_FALSE);
    ELSE
         set_item_property('ID_REV_LICENSEES.LICENSEE_NAME', UPDATE_ALLOWED, PROPERTY_TRUE);
         -- set_item_property('ID_REV_LICENSEES.LICENSEE_NAME', INSERT_ALLOWED, PROPERTY_TRUE);
    END IF;
    END;
    Now in this data block I should also be able to insert new records and for the same I have used PRE-INSERT trigger and the code for it is as follows:
    DECLARE
         v_alert_button NUMBER;
    CURSOR v_licensee_id IS SELECT id_rev_licensees_s.NEXTVAL FROM dual;
    BEGIN
    OPEN v_licensee_id;
    FETCH v_licensee_id INTO :id_rev_licensees.licensee_id;
    CLOSE v_licensee_id;
    IF :id_rev_licensees.licensee_id IS NULL THEN
    Message('Error Generating Next v_licensee_id');
    RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure;
    END IF;
    :ID_REV_LICENSEES.created_by := :GLOBAL.g_login_name;
    :ID_REV_LICENSEES.last_updated_by := :GLOBAL.g_login_name;
    :ID_REV_LICENSEES.create_date := SYSDATE;
    :ID_REV_LICENSEES.last_update_date := SYSDATE;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN form_trigger_failure
    THEN
    RAISE form_trigger_failure;
    WHEN OTHERS
    THEN
    v_alert_button :=
    msgbox ('ERROR in Pre-Insert - ' || SQLERRM, 'STOP', 'Contact IST');
    RAISE form_trigger_failure;
    END;
    Every thing is compiling fine but at the run time when I am trying to insert a new record I am receiving the following error:
    FRM-40508:ORACLE error:unable to insert record
    I also think the pre-insert record is not firing at the time of inserting a new record and saving it. So I request you to please delve into this problem and suggest me how to overcome this problem. Code snippets would do more help for me. If you need any other things from me please let me know. I will see if I could be of any help in that concern because I may not be able to send the entire form as it is.
    Thanks and regards,
    Vamsi K Gummadi.

    first of all
    pre-insert fires after the implicit/explicit commit/commit_form is issued and before the real insert is submitted to the db.
    i would suggest to remove the error handling part for the moment
    because i believe you might be getting "ora-xxxx cannot insert null"
    and also make visible the primary column to check if the pre-insert is executed.
    it would be better to make visible for a while the not null columns of the table/block
    i suppose that the block is insert allowed and you are using table as the source of the block and not any procedures or something...
