I want to start my Time Machine. I bought a Goflex Home which says it is compatible with my iMac but it refuses to download an update of the software. This means the Time Machine will not operate. What is the problem?
I want to start Time Machine. I bought a Goflex Home netwrork storage system, which says it is compatible with Imac. Each time I go online to try to get any updates, it always comes back saying Error. In other words, I can't start Time Machine because I can't get any software updates. Anyone else experiencing problems with Seagate software updates?
If you want to use Time Machine the Seagate software is unnecessary. The drive is probably ntfs format which is not for the Mac.
Manually preparing a new disk for Time Machine
If you want to erase a disk before using it with Time Machine, follow these steps:
Open Disk Utility (located in the Utilities folder).
Connect the disk if it isn't already attached.
In the left side of the Disk Utility window, select the disk you want to use with Time Machine.
Optional: If you want to partition the disk, click the Partition tab and select a layout. Make sure "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" is selected in the Format menu for the partition that will be used for backups. Click Apply.
Click the Erase tab.
Optional: If you want to securely erase the disk, click Security Options to configure, then click OK.
Click Erase.
After erasing, open Time Machine preferences in System Preferences and configure as described in the section above.

You bought a hacked phone. The Apple servers can detect the hack and have now disabled activation. Contact AT&T and find out if you qualify to have it unlocked or buy a new legitimately unlocked phone. -

DVD Compatible with one iMac, but not the other.
Hello, I have two iMacs in my house. Both running 10.5.8 OS. One is 2 GHz and one is 2.66 Ghz. The 2.66 is 24", while the 2 is 20".
I have some DVD media that works just dandy (that means "fine") on my 20" iMac, but it just ejects after a few seconds on my 24" iMac. Any ideas? I have tried restarting with a DVD in the 24, nothing. I am not sure what brand the DVD media is, all I know is that on the inside ring it says "IFPI BE22" - that's all I know about it.
To summarize, blank DVDs burn fine using iDVD and Finder on my 20" iMac, but my 24" won't even read them. Any ideas? Thank you!!Get different higher quality media.
The best media is by Verbatim, Taiyo, or Ritek.
It also is stored in jewelcases, and not on spindles.
It also is burnt at less than its highest speed.
It also has no sticky label, and no ink based writing on the label, and you use the jewelcase inserts to determine what's on the disc.
Media of unknown source usually is not that high quality, and will have mixed results being read by different machines. -

Is the installer not launching for you ?
Uninstall the previous version (without removing your customizations) before installing the new version.

To get pass the passcode lockscreen, recovery mode and restoring should help: iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

I have tried updating plugins and have tried updating the Yahoo Toolbar as a plugin and that has not fixed it yet. I get an error code saying that it could not be downloaded or updated because Firefox cannot find the proper file or something to that. I really need that toolbar because all of my bookmarks are there. I have tried to download the Firefox Bookmarks plugin and I get the same error message.
I have the exact same issue. I havent found our what is causing it either. Multaple re-install attempts with no success. I have to use Windows Media Center to burn audio discs. Any other advice?

I recently updated to the new iOS through my computer with my iPhone 4 pluged in via USB. It has shut down my phone and just shows the iTunes icon with the USB cord to plug in.
