Using Change Data Capture in SSIS - how to handle schema changes

I was asked to consider change data capture for a database recently. I can see that from the database perspective, its quite nice. When I considered how I'd do this in SSIS, it seemed pretty obvious that I might have a problem, but I wanted to
confirm here.
The database in question changes the schema about once per month in production. We have a lot of controls in our environment, so everytime a tables schema is changed, I'd have to do a formal change request to deal with a change to my code
base, in this case my SSIS package; it can be a lot of work. If I wanted to track the data changes for inserts, update and deletes using an SSIS package to send the data changes to the destination tables, would I have to change my SSIS package
with every schema change, or is there a way to keep the exact same SSIS package with CDC without having to change it every month?

What is your exact requirement?
If you want to capture the object_created, object_deleted or object_altered informations, you can try using
Extended events .
As mentioned in your OP:

If you want the databases in two different environments to be in sync, then take periodic
backup and apply(restore) on the another destination DB.
(or)
you can also try with
SQL Server replication if it is really needed.
As I understand from your description, if you want the table data & schema to be in sync in two different database:
then create job [script that will drop the destination DB table & create the copy of source DB table ] as per your requirement:

Using Oracle Data Source in SSIS using Attunity

I am using the oracle data source in SSIS.
* Created the expression that will have query to select source column.
* I need to extract only rows having specific date. This date is a dynamic one i.e Created a variable1 which will be update by function call(return type is datetime) for time being i have assigned the
value(datetime type).
* I have created one more variable2(string type) which will extract only date(dd-mon-yyyy). Below is the query i used.

I have tried different formats like enclosing that between quotes(shows same error), then used to_Date() in oracle again shows same error.
If i hard code the value instead of @[User::Date] means its working well.
SomeOne please help me why that error is showing. I cant able to figure out. trying for whole day. PLEASE.

How data flow when SSIS packages are run on a different server than the DB server

The scenario is that i have a dedicated SQL SErver 2014 SSIS machine that executes the packages.
The database server is a separate machine with SQL Server 2008R2.
1) Running SSIS packages that transfer data within SQL Server 2008R2 (same machine)
2) Running SSIS packages that transfer data between 2 separate SQL Server servers.
How the data flow in these two cases and what resource is being used where? (cpu,disk,ram,network)

When you have a dedicated SSIS server, all data read flows to that server, is processed using the resources of that ETL server and then sent back over the network to the destination server.
It doesn't matter if source and destination are the same server. If you use a data flow, all data flows over the network twice.
The only exception is when you don't use a data flow, but only SQL statements. In that case, data flows only between source and destination.

Data base was broken now its fixed

When I installed 2.0 I upgraded my broken data Base because I never thought I would find the broken part anyway. Well "knock on wood" after playing with it for a little while I restarted aperture to rebuild the data base expecting to find errors all over the place. None!
I know Apple worked on the data base but I didnt expect this. I have run Cocktail in between the rebuilds but I'm pretty sure that would not of done it. Apple did it right ... at least by me.

ALV Refresh when using Logical Data Base

My program will display the report in a ALV grid format (not in OO, no method or class used here, only FM are used), user can select rows and update the dates in the PM orders. The REFRESH button comes with the GUI Status "STANDARD1" does not do anything, so I create a custom button "REF". Normally I will read the updated records into the internal table and use FM "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY" to refresh the screen; but this time I need to use a logical database to collect the data, "GET <DIAUFK>" is only allowed to use once in the program, so how can I retrieve my data again after the refresh?
Does anybody know where the Basic Start and Finsh dates of the PM order are stored? They are the screen fields CAUFVD-GSTRP and CAVFVD-GLTRP on IW32 Header tab.

references in page templates probably get evaluated first...References in page templates get replaced with their session state values when the portion of the page template containing the references is rendered, e.g., before the box, inside the box, after the box, in the footer..., and within each section each item reference is replaced "when it is encountered" with the current value of the item from session state.
There is a Before Footer computation that sets that item to the current timestamp.I see an "After Regions" computation. On your page, the form item is rendered using the current (from the previous page request) value of the item in session state. Then your compuation sets a new value. Then the remaining sections of the page template (after the regions) are rendered and you see the newly computed value in the footer section of the template.

I am trying to provide SQL Authentication mode and credentials at parent package and I am using some child pachnages been called from this package.
How can I resolve this to use SQL authentication.

Hi Sreenath,
What issue did you encounter when run the parent package? It should work properly if the SQL Server Authentication is already enabled on the target SQL Server instance and the SQL account credentials are input correctly in the child package.
You may encounter issue if you have enabled Package Configurations for the child pages that use SQL Server authentication and selected to expose the UserName and Password for the SQL Server connection. In this situation, the password won’t be exposed to
the package configurations explicitly, hence, the Dtexec utility cannot fetch the password for the connection and fails the package execution. If it is the issue, you have to specify the password for the SQL Server account in the package configurations file.

You might want to consider filtering on j.name or j.job_id to get the info for the specific job.

Getting XML data of SSIS Package (which is located in File System) from a query

We have around 200 SSIS packages deployed to File System. These pacakges are being scheduled using SQL Agent job.
So, currently I have a list of all the packages and their respective File Path.
Note : **They are NOT deployed to Server**.
Now, my task is to search all the packages which has a specific connection in it.
From the below blog, I got to know we can achieve this by querying the XML data of the SSIS Package.

But in the above article they are getting the XML definition of the Package from msdb(as it was deployed to server).
In my requirement, SSIS Packages are in File System. Is there any way to to get the XML definition of these packages using a query.

@Visakh: The query provided by you gives the information about all the connection strings in the package.
@Praveen: The query in the link provided by you lists the values of all the properties of the package like MaxerrorCount, CreatorName, CreatorDate and other properties.
I think, we may have to slightly modify this query to get the connection string values

Netweaver Data base instances for Java and ABAP

Hello Experts,
Please help me to understand how the two technology stacks of SAP WAS (Java and ABAP) are configured to use underline data base in Netweaver.
Is it manadatory to have two separate data base schemas, one for ABAP applications and other for Java applications in the Netweaver?
If yes..the any idea about what are those schema differences??

i need to use a library in an SSIS package and I need to know if I can do it without Visual Studio? i have SQl Server data tools installed on the server but i don't have the full visual studio. is it possible to use the library on the server without
visual studio?

Logical Data Base - ADA

Hi, people,
I`m using Logical Data Base ADA in my program to generate some files, but when the program is executed in DEV System the files are generated normaly, but in the PRD system don´t work.
Someone knows if exist same parameter or why this problem occurs ?

As ADA is a standard logical database, if you don't change this object, there should be no difference, except Authorizations that may differ between development and production systems , check via [SU53|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?query=su53+#sdn_content_category_value_wiki].
(In AM "Asset Accounting" class, check authorization objects : A_A_VIEW, A_S_ANLKL, A_S_GSBER, A_S_WERK.)
