ICal custom repeat every x days EXCLUDING weekends?

I have an event I would like to repeat every x number of days excluding weekends (so only counting M-F as "counted" days). Is there a way to do this?

You can exclude Sat/Sun, but they will still be counted - so an occurrence on those days is dropped, and you will get fewer occurrences than you should.

    Does anyone know how to set up an event to repeat "every other day" in iCal? I need to have an event repeat every second day, but can only see options for "every day" or "every week". Perhaps I'm missing something, or someone can suggest a clever way around this? Thanks & Cheers!

    It is possible to have multiple libraries in a single account and use each one for a different iPod without affecting the other. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Option key when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
    Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. This can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library but if you are only going to update your Dad's iPod periodically this shouldn't be an issue:

    iCloud is not compatible with Snow Leopard, that is your problem.
    A quick way out is to purchase Soho Organizer which is compatible, even when running on Snow Leopard, it will correctly handle Contacts and Calendars from iCloud. $100, 2 user license.

  • ICal custom repeat - no longer an option to select days?

    I want to set up an event that will occur Monday-Friday at 8 a.m., in the past I would create the event, then 'repeat every day' choose 'custom', and I was able to select days of the week.  Now when I select 'custom', it only gives me the option of daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.
    Can someone tell me where this feature went?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    You can do this on Calendar.app on a Mac. Select Repeat "Custom"  > frequency "Weekly" and select the days of the week.

  • ABAP HR- calculation of workind days (excluding weekend) for an employee

    Hi,
    I need to get number of working days between two dates excluding weekends for an employee. Please let me know below questions in this regard:
    1. I have to use Factory calender or holiday calender for this purpose?
    2. Will FM RKE_SELECT_FACTDAYS_FOR_PERIOD solve this purpose ?
    Regards,
    Aleria

    Hi Aleria,
    Use the FM DAY_ATTRIBUTES_GET in this FM pass the holiday and factory calendar of the employee along with the period. In the output structure if free day is set then it is SAT/SUN and if holiday is set then it is Public holiday marked in the calendar.

  • How to calculate number of days excluding weekends

    I have the following <u>key figures</u> in my InfoCube:
    Date Released to Vendors key figure - ZRELDT
    Date Awarded to a Vendor key figure - ZAWRDT
    In my BEx query, I need to calculate the difference between these two key figures but the weekends should be excluded.  For example, if the value of ZRELDT is 08/10/2007 (which is a Friday) and the value of ZAWRDT is 08/13/2007, the result should just be 1 day and not 3 days since the other days pertain to a Saturday and a Sunday.
    How do I address this in the formula when creating the Query?
    thanks.

    Hi,
    Use func module HOLIDAY_GET need to pass the Holiday Cal the company use
    and also
    FM: DATE_CONVERT_TO_FACTORYDATE.
    One way to use this:
    Assuming:
    - You have the start & end dates in variables.
    - Keep a few counters
    Logic:
    - Pass start date to DATE_CONVERT_TO_FACTORY_DATE with the parameter +
    - If this date is not a factory date, the next date which is a factory day is returned. (I.e. passed Sunday as param, got a Monday date returned). If the day passed to the function is the same as the date returned, this is a factory day (working day)
    - If the date passed to the function is not the same as the returned day then this day was not a factory day, meaning not a work date. Add 1 to a counter
    - Pass the first day + 1 (use another counter for + N)
    - Stop loop when passed parameter is equal to stop date.
    You can replicate the factory calendar from R/3, CRM etc in your source system in RSA1 (transfer globals). In your function call, you specify which factory calendar to use
    hope this help

    Hello All
    I have one requirement here, where delivery dates should propose only working days and it should not allow to add weekends and holidays during the creation of sales order.

  • How to carryout Demand Planning when season repeats every 300 days

    Gurus,
    In a geography a festival repeats once in 300 days . There is a seasonal demand for products during the festival. How do I go about configuration in APO DP so that I am able to apply appropriate forecasting strategy, say in univariate forecasting?
    Sivabaalan

    Hi Sivabalan,
    One method that may work for this situation is to use forecast strategy 56 with any CVC that exhibits the 300-day pattern and modify the Periods parameter.  For example, if your planning area is set to weeks (this assumes demand history is bucketed into days or weeks) set the model parameters to:
    Forecast strategy:   56
    Alpha:                        0.30 (for example)
    Gamma:                     0.65 (for example)
    Sigma:                       1.25 (for example)
    Periods:                   42
    Variation:                  1
    Periods = 42 since there are 42.85 weeks in a 300-day period.  The Variation = 1 will tell the system to try the model with a seasonality of 41 weeks and 43 weeks.  Whichever yields the best error will be chosen by the system.
    If your demand history is bucketed in months (or fiscal months) and your planning area is set to months / fiscal months, then change the Periods to 10 and Variation to 1 (since 300 days is not exactly 10 months).
    If your planning area is set to days (for retail , maybe?), you are one lucky guy. You can use Forecast Strategy 31 and Periods = 300.  This assumes that the period is exactly 300 days with no wiggle room for slight variation.
    Hope this helps.  I have no experience with Seasonal Planning in APO so I'm approaching this from how we would do it in our system.

  • Finding the number of days excluding weekends

    Dear All,
    I want to find the date difference between the working days,
    ex, take 2 dates, today - Monday 11th and Monday 18th,
    So, I want a function module which will calculate the difference between working days, means from 18th to 11th, it should calculate the difference as 5 working days.
    Please let me know the function module which will show the number of difference in working days.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ramana

  • Repeating long all-day events not shown in second portion of week view

    When I create a long all-day event spanning from a Wednesday to the following Tuesday, I can see it in both the first and second week views that it spans. For example, I created an event spanning from Jan 9, 2008 (Wed) to Jan 16, 2008 (Tue). It is visible in both week views, i.e. from Jan 6-12, and Jan 13-19.
    However, when the event is set to be a repeating one, it disappears from the second week view, Jan 13-19. The event is still visible on the Jan 6-12 week view. When the event has its repetition removed, it is immediately visible in the second Jan 13-19 week. There is some bug in the week view that apparently screws up repeating all-day events that do not begin on the week being viewed.
    A fix on this would be greatly appreciated. Anyone else notice this?
    Everything is normal on the month view.

    I have exactly the same problem. I work a 21 week pattern of days off and on over a 17 day period, ending with a random 28 day block. So every 147 days I repeat that 28 day block named "random".
    However, when the random block spans to the following month the entry is viewable up to the last day displayed in the month view but step forward to the next month and the entry cannot be seen.
    Example: All day event starting on 16th Apr 2008 until 13 May 2008, custom repeat every 147 days (never end), appears in April month view up to May 4th. Step forward to May, which includes from April 28th and nothing is displayed.
    Yet if it is not a repeat event it spans correctly!
    I'm relatively new to OS X and can't remember for sure but I thought Tiger handled it correctly?
    Can anybody confirm this?

  • How to "select" sth which takes place every n days?

    Hi there,
    I'm developing a JSP/Servlet-based event calendar for young people in a big German city. I recently ran into a problem while implementing a new feature requested by the team which is maintaining the website. Editors can enter events over a web-based form; currently supported are events which take place on a single day or spawn over multiple days.
    I've been asked to provide means of entering something like events which take place every n days, starting at a given date.
    I thought about storing the start date and an integer which holds the number of days after that the event should take place again. This would be very easy to implement on the frontend: A textfield/dropdowns for the date and a textfield/dropdown for the "repeat every n days" thing.
    But I can't think of any reasonably fast way to get those events from the database when my servlet should display all events between, let's say, December 1 and December 24.
    The only thing which came to my mind was selecting every event's start date, taking the "repeat every n days" field an check if the current date is one of those "repeat days" by repeatedly adding the "repeat every n days" value. But this would seriously affect the servlet's performance. Let me explain the above idea with some pseudo code:
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM events ...");
    while (rs.next())
    Date startDate = rs.getDate(...);
    // don't care about the single-day and multiple-day events here
    int repeatEveryNDays = rs.getInt(...);
    while (startDate <= currentDate)
    if (startDate.equals(currentDate))
    // show event on search results page
    else
    // increase date by "repeatEveryNDays"
    startDate.day += repeatEveryNDays
    }As I knew this forum very well, let me emphasize that this is not some kind of homework assignment. If you want prove, go to http://www.under18.de and look at the site. But I doubt that will keep the trolls away from this topic :(
    Thanks for your ideas,
    Philipp
    PS: For those not so capable of understanding what some call German g, here's a Googled translation into English (ahem... ignore the text, it's colloquial German and Google doesn't seem to like it): http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.under18.de&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

    I just thought about this one: Assume I have an event
    starting on Nov 2 taking place every 7 days. Now I'd
    search for events between Nov 3 and Nov 11. The
    difference of start date - STARTDATE would be
    1, divided by 7 would be 1/7 (about 0.142857).
    Adding 1 to 0.142857 would be rounded to 1 (using
    integers), resulting in Nov 4 if I'm right. Well, Nov
    4 falls between start date and end date
    but there actually is no event on Nov 4 according to
    the 7-day period defined above. I don't get any
    further with your "calculate the next event based on
    that number plus one".Taking your example, the difference between start date and STARTDATE is 1 day, which means that the first event is after start date. Now the first occurrence that is after start date is (0+1)*7+STARTDATE, which is (Nov 2 + 7).
    All you have to do with this number is to make sure it isn't after the ENDDATE value (to verify it is in your repeating schedule), and doesn't fall after the end date that you are comparing for.
    Some math major can probably explain the calculation better than I have, but the basic idea is figure out what the first occurrence is that is after your start date and then make sure it's not greater than end date.
