ICal Not updating Palm

I set up iSync to work with my Palm and all seems to go fine...except that no information ever changes.
I can put a new appointment in ical or on the palm and it never updates the other one.
I am not really sure about my addresses but I don't think they are updating either.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if this is an iCal issue or a MobileMe/sync issue, but the issue is affecting iCal directly. If from my iMac, I make a new entry in iCal all my devices (i.e. MobileMe, iPhone, and iPad) are updated properly. But if I edit an entry, such as changing date, time, etc..., the change is not updated in MobileMe or my devices. I have waited unsuccessfully as long as an hour to see if the update will take place automatically.
The only way I can update it is to do a manual sync. This is a recent development. For many years, it has worked just fine.
From System Preferences I have reset the data, but it did not have any effect.

First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
If the issue persists reset your sync data again from the computer to MobileMe.

Powerbook G4 and iphone sync and ical not updating

my ical does not update it's info when syncing with my iphone. I've selected that option for the calendar under info. also when entering new events in ical and then exiting then reopening the ical application the newly created event is not there? I've received all my mac updates. I've reloaded the os 10.5.8 software and still no resolution.

iPhone 3GS I think only supports Leopard and up.. Tiger I don't think will work.

ICal not updating on computer

I have a MobileMe account, iPhone and mac laptop. In the past few days I've noticed that iCal on my computer is not updating at all (and seems to have not updated in quite some time). MobileMe and the iPhone seem to be working together and synching information, but nothing is getting to the computer's iCal. I mostly use the calendar on the iPhone, so that's where most of the information is coming from.
And I've tried the following:
-Deleting the Calendar cache in Home/Library/Calendars
-Deleting com.apple.iCal from Library/Caches
-Deleting com.apple.iCal.plist and com.apple.iCal.helper.plist from Home/Libarary/Preferences
-Resetting my synch data so that I replace all synch info on the computer with the info on MobileMe
And I continue to get the following message:
"*Calendars could not be synched due to inconsistent data.*
Confirm that your computer's data is valid, then reset Calendars on MobileMe in System Preferences."
I've even tried moving iCal to the trash and then run software update to see if it would download a new version of iCal (it doesn't).
And I've either restarted or shut down the computer between all of these efforts.
Contacts and mail all seem to be working & synching just fine.
I recently had Leopard and a new hard drive installed (but over two months ago), and was out of the country for six weeks, both of which may or may not have something to do with this (i.e., maybe there's an issue with the time change somewhere internally in the computer).
I'm really frustrated. Any thoughts?

Photo stream not showing up on iPhone after upgrade and ical not updating calendar on Mac

I just cross upgraded from 4 to 4s. I have 1000 photos in photo stream from old phone and on Mac - after restoring from backup (done right before the phone switch), I only have 161 photos - its not increasing over time....
Is there any way to push this to the phone?
Also, my calendar is not updating in the cloud with items on the phone.

i have also upgraded my phone to a 4S and have an ipad. I will not upgrade to Lion until the primary software i use is made compatable. just spent 30 min with tech support to learn that because of the icloud, i can no longer upload my photos. i can not turn icloud on my mobile devices without losing totally the syncing of my calendar, contacts, mail to my computer running 10.6.8!! If i do turn the feature on, I must create a new identiy on the mobile devices, that identity would take over my calendar, contacts, mail etc, and not sync with my office computer. i asked multiple times if the new identity could be separate from my primary information and was told multiple times no.
unbelievable!!
i suffered all the growing pains (syn) of mobile me and feel now back in the worst days of Apple with some pretty new hardware
is it possible the tech guy was wrong?

Address Book and iCal not updating in iTunes

After I make changes to my address book I try to sync the changes the old groups, information, and photos are not updating to iTunes and therefore nothing is changing on my devices. I followed directions from this link http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2481 and now it's cleared all my contact and calendar data in iTunes and therefore cleared all my contacts and calendar data on my iPhone and iPad. Anyone know how to get iTunes to recognize the current data in my apps?

Answered by finding out elsewhere that the iSync tool has an option to refresh all old sync history.

ICal not updating

Hi there - I have been syncing my Palm Zire for about a year now. A couple of weeks ago I had a hard drive crash that I was able to repair, and have since run all the Tiger updates. It seems now that my Palm device picks up new appointments that I input into iCal, but iCal doesn't update itself from my Palm. I am using iSync to syncronize, and it then runs the Palm hotsync Manager.

Mac's iCal not updating using iPhone4's iCloud

I have upgraded my iPhone4 to iOS5, but still use Snow Leopard on my mac
When I change an event in my iPhone's calendar, why doesn't it update to my my mac's iCal?

An update.
If I add an event to iCal on the Ti Powerbook, it will sync to .mac then on to the 17" then to the Palm and display correctly on the Palm. It won't display in the the month, week or day view in iCal on the 17". If I go look in the search list of events, the propagated event is there.
The same is true if I create an event on the Palm and sync it to the 17" then to .mac and on to the Ti Powerbook. The event is on all calendars, it just doesn't display on the 17".
another update: I just subscribed to the US Holidays calander and when it came in and displayed, the missing new events also displayed.
Any clues about how to force a refresh of the calendar view display?

ICal not updating day

Every time I turn on my iBook, the iCal icon at the bottom of my screen always is on July 17. Is there a way to make it automatically go to the current day without having to click on the icon every time?

Yes, there is a way, it requires running iCal in the background, and having it start automatically.
In System Preferences go to Accounts. Then go to Startup Items. Click on the + button, and add iCal to the list. Then click on the checkbox in front of iCal on the list.
That will start iCal when you reboot, and hide it, so that you don't see it. The date in the dock will update, and when you call up iCal it will start slightly faster.

ICal not updating with iPhone

When I add calendar items on my iPhone they are no longer syncing with my iCal program on my desktop. Anyone else experience this? What seemed to fix this?

Try resetting the Sync History from the iSync application preferences.
Launch iSync> Preferences(from iSync in the top menubar)> Reset Sync History.

If that does not work you may have to try something a little more intrusive.
Disable .Mac syncing and backup iCal and Address Book databases(along with any other data that syncs) then continue to reset and remove the sync services folder(located in ~Library/Application Support/) as described in KBase: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306484

Me too.
Have you tried reset sync history in isync? This has worked for many.
You can also try Preferences>MobileMe>Sync>Advanced>Reset sync data
I would try isync first.

Also - my battery has been telling me "service battery" for a LONG time and then it switched to "replace soon" som time ago. Can't really see what this has to do with anything but whatever.
That could conceivably explain all the problems you're describing. Replacing a Mac's battery should not be postponed since a failed battery will cause other problems to occur. It is also possible that its hard disk has failed, which means the information on it may soon become unrecoverable.
... my latest TM back up was from April 2014, can I just run this when I have rescued everthing and then it might not be as slow?
If that Time Machine backup remains intact, it may be the only viable means of recovering that Mac's information. I suggest you do not attempt to restore its contents to your ailing Mac.
Given that you are having trouble creating a newer Time Machine backup you should stop using that Mac immediately and have it serviced as soon as you are able. Do not take it to anyone other than Apple or a service facility authorized by Apple, for the very reasons you explained. If there are no Apple Stores in your vicinity search for an Authorized Apple Service Provider using the Contact Us link below. Use one of the options that appear under Contact Apple Support. The language on that page will be different for your location.

Update ical and address book on iMac does not update iPhone or ipad

I have updated my ical and address book on my imac, but it is not updating my iphone or ipad, I have activated icloud on all machines, can anyone help please. Have looked at the forum, but cannot find my issue specifically. Regards

On the iPhone and iPad, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Calendars and Contacts off then back on then reset the devices.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the boxes next to Calendars and Contacts then restart your iMac.

Apple said to update ical. I guess I waited too long because my calendars and all my events disappeared. I tried syncing with my iPhone and it deleted my calendars off my iPhone. Double clicking on a calendar invite does not work either, it won't open or populate my ical. I requested an update through Mobileme to get ical working again and nothing..... It does not appear to want to update or start working again. Is this an issue with Apple ical in general?
