Ical not updating onto iphone

It has been working correctly for months and now for no reason I can imagine, I have not changed anything, the changes I make on my ical laptop do not appear on my iphone1

Me too.
Have you tried reset sync history in isync? This has worked for many.
You can also try Preferences>MobileMe>Sync>Advanced>Reset sync data
I would try isync first.

When I add calendar items on my iPhone they are no longer syncing with my iCal program on my desktop. Anyone else experience this? What seemed to fix this?

Try resetting the Sync History from the iSync application preferences.
Launch iSync> Preferences(from iSync in the top menubar)> Reset Sync History.

If that does not work you may have to try something a little more intrusive.
Disable .Mac syncing and backup iCal and Address Book databases(along with any other data that syncs) then continue to reset and remove the sync services folder(located in ~Library/Application Support/) as described in KBase: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306484

Download a free app and try again, you can delete the free app afterward.

Thanks to a Apple tech support agent we were able to find out the problem. If anyone else runs into the same problem. These are the steps you should take to fix the problem becuase more then likely you have had a jailbroken device on the computer that your using to do the update.
1.
-In TinyUmbrella unchecked the option that says "Set hosts to cydia on exit"
-Press Apply Changes
-QUit TinyUmbrella

-In terminal, write this:

sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts
-Press Enter
-Delete all lines that reference gs.apple.com
-Save File

Why is iOS 8.2 not updating on iPhone 5S? It got the user to Agree to the Terms and Conditions but nothing happens. The user is doing the update via a Wifi connection. Current OS version on the device is 8.1.3. User did a hard reboot of the device and still the same result. Not tried using iTunes as a workaround as we want to know why it's not updating via a Wifi connection. Storage space available is 9G.
If you know of someone who is experiencing the same issue, please let me know the fix. Thank you.

1. I do not know if this will help you or not. In researching this issue with my wife's iPhone 5c 8GB, the most common answer you will get is to adjust this or that setting, and disable this or that App. These at best are only a band-aide solution at all. The best reply I got was from a Verizon Rep that stated "By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress, or information is being back-up wirelessly and the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data if it is left on". Afterwards, I discovered the exact same information here on the Apple Support Forum to support this statement.
2. Later onward, I read that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, it will prevent it from going dormant. In which case, this will prevent the iPhone from turning off the WiFi, and keep it connected to the WiFi. So far, this has help the most in controlling the amount of data usage being used, by my wife's iPhone.

My husband could not update his iphone to os 5 from his computer (due to itunes not being upgradeable) so he jumped on mine and upgraded, he later mentioned the warning about losing all content. He did back up on his computer, thinking he could go to his computer to get all his info and apps back after upgrading. UGH! So now I am wondering, can that backup that is on his old mac be transferred to my Mac book Pro, and fix the problem. If so can some kind soul direct me to easy instructions?

I would remove iTunes and all its components completely, reinstall, and try again. Try on another computer if you can also.

When going to your software updates on your device it will provide you with the latest available update for your device.
the iPhone 4 will update to iOS 7.0.4 provided all other updates the device is asking for has been completed.

I may be completely wrong, but I think you may need iTunes 10 to update to 6.0 or 6.0.1. I'm also not completely sure what firmware the built-in update feature was implemented, so if all else fails, check the General tab in Settings to see if you can update from the iPhone itself.

Powerbook G4 and iphone sync and ical not updating

my ical does not update it's info when syncing with my iphone. I've selected that option for the calendar under info. also when entering new events in ical and then exiting then reopening the ical application the newly created event is not there? I've received all my mac updates. I've reloaded the os 10.5.8 software and still no resolution.

iPhone 3GS I think only supports Leopard and up.. Tiger I don't think will work.
