ICloud made a mess of my Outlook.  How do I put it back?

I went through over 3000 contacts in Outlook and carefully deleted duplicates and old contacts and made corrections.  Then I checked the box in the iCloud Control Panel for "Contacts with Outlook."  After it uploaded all my contacts, I opened the new folder in Outlook named "Contacts in iCloud."  It was a total mess.  Each contact was listed 3 or 4 times, in different versions, and it was impossible to see which one was the correct one without opening each one and carefully comparing.  It must have uploaded contacts from my deleted and other contacts folders.  The contacts in iCloud were the same way.  In Outlook, my original Contacts folder is empty.  Is there any way to put this back the way it was?  I didn't back up contacts after I did all the editing immediatly before uploading to iCloud.  How do I reverse all these changes to my Outlook folders?  Thanks.

Hi,
Did you check the following Warning before perform a Refresh ?
WarningApps you installed from websites and DVDs will be removed. Apps that came with your PC and apps you installed from the Windows Store will be reinstalled. Windows puts a list of removed apps on your desktop after refreshing your PC.
Source: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
Looks like you have to re-install missing apps that were installed by you before.
Regards.

  • ICloud made a mess of Calendar

After I decided to try iCloud for Contacts and Calendar, I now regret the horrible mess it created. I need help putting Calendar back to it’s previous state.
Contacts seemed to sync as expected after enabling iCloud, but Calendar would not sync entries to the Mac. This wasn’t an immediate worry as every couple of months this year I have had the problem of the iPad not syncing new entries to the Mac. I went through Apple suggested remedies of removing sync history, and using Terminal to remove the system library Calendar caches and library caches. Unfortunately, that has not seemed to have worked this time, so no new iPad entries sync to the Mac and thus I have to also enter those same entries on the Mac.
I turned off  iCloud on both the iPad and Mac, but new problems exist. When iCloud is turned off for Mail on the Mac, it wipes all the entries off the Mac Calendar, necessitating restoring the calendar from an archive.
    1) Any new entries added to the iPad can be edited/deleted but all previous entries and new entries synced from the Mac only give a “details” option nor can any old entries on the iPad be deleted.
    2) In iTunes all the calendars show a name such as “personal(my user [email protected])” Before using iCloud, it only listed the calendar “personal” under On My Mac.
    3) On the Mac calendar all the calendar categories are showing under an iCloud header and there is the gray triangle showing it wasn’t able to connect. The “On My Mac” listings now only show Home, Work, and Reminders rather than the full list of 15 calendars it did list before.
How can I get calendar to forget it had ever synced with iCloud?
MIght this change the situation? - There is a clone of my primary OS drive on drive 2 which I made a month ago in preparation of Maverick (so I can still have a 10.8.x system available to me after upgrading to 10.9 - also have a Snow Leopard system on a fifth drive). There is a calendar on that drive that has the calendar archive one month before I made the iCloud mistake. Could I replace the current Calendar on the Mac with that archive and perhaps straighten out this mess? I could then replace the iPad calendar with that new calendar now on the Mac?
I am hoping that when I make an empty 2014 Calendar, that I might be able to resolve the syncing problems. I am concerned when I do get a new iPad this fall and an iPhone in January some of these problems might still exist.

Try updating iTunes to the latest version.

  • Hi, I upgraded my girlfriend's iPad 2 using my iMac, however, her iPad was sync with her PC. Although I've made backup earlier, when I restore from backup the apps doesn't sync back, neither her documents on pages. How can I put then back to her iPad?

Hi, I upgraded my girlfriend's iPad 2 using my iMac, however, her iPad was sync with her PC. Although I've made backup earlier, when I restore from backup the apps doesn't sync back, neither her documents on pages. How can I put then back to her iPad?

The backup saves many settings, but it copies photos and other files from the computer back to the iPad after IOS5 wipes the disk.   Plugging it into her computer will re-sync it.

You need to provide a lot more detail as to what you did.
    Were you setting up bootcamp?
Did you blindly install Windows without using bootcamp?
If you set up bootcamp, press and hold the option key when you hear the start up bong until the screen shows both operating systems. You can then select the one that you want.

  • GUI organization is messed up - how can I put it back the way it was

    SQL Developer 2.1.1.64
was running fine, then somehow the GUI got messed up so now connections view takes up half the screen and I can't see the SQL windows and the tables windows. How can I put it back to the way it was? Any time I try to drag and move a window around, it gets worse. I would like to have the connections view only in the left quarter of the window as the default.

If you simply want to reset everything to default you can backup/delete the settings directory usualli located in:
    Win 7
    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\SQL Developer\systemXXXXXX
    Win XP
documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\SQL Developer\systemXXXXXXMind you will lose all your other settings along with the layout, you may want to at least export your connections before trying.
The layour file itself should be somthing called windowinglayout.xml located somewhere in the above config directory, but last time i checked deleting only this file had no effect.

    Try this...
Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars.  Scroll down to Calendars and set "Sync" as desired.

I updated my iphone to ios 6.0.1 and selected icloud.  I lost all my contacts - how do i get them back?

No.  Anything that was created after your last backup will be gone.
Use iCloud to automatically backup your device, usually once every 24 hours.

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

my apple ID is showing someone elses email address and not mine so when i want to buy or update apps it brings this other email address up. please can someone help how do i put it back to my email address?

First go here - https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and login under the manage tab.  Check your information and be sure it is all correct.
An AppleID is nothing more than an email address, so if you see another email address in the store, then someone has logged in with a different AppleID than yours.  Did you let someone else use your iPhone?

My ipod is brand-new and I mistakenly pressed the "restore" option! How can I put everything back to normal now?
And after that, could you explain to me how can I put songs in it?

Re-sync your apps and content from iTunes on your computer or redownload it from the iTunes Store, then restore from your backup:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
That should put back most if not all of your settings and data. As to putting songs on, either purchase them from the iTunes Store or, again, sync them from iTunes:

I have an apple magic mouse, sometimes when I slide mouse up to the left my whole window is enlarged.  How do I put window back to normal size

Got confused between your header question about a wired mouse and the main question about a wireless mouse.  You said your magic mouse was frozen and added you do not have a wireless mouse.   Problem is ... the magic mouse is wireless.   The original mighty mouse was the corded version.
The wired mouse is a regular problem.  After two to three years it tends to clog up. You can clean it (to a degree) as follows.
Using an alcohol moistened, not wet, cotton bud, scratch at the mouse ball for a minute or so.   Then turn it upside down and on a clean piece of thick white paper or card on a firm surface, vigorously rub the mouse ball on the paper in a regular figure of eight.  Do this for a minute or so and occasionally tap the mouse on the paper.   This will help dislodge bits of fluff etc.   Then try again
