ICloud space issues

I just received an email saying that my iCloud space is full and i can't receive more email until I get more allotment. But i have purchases +50 GB and my account shows that 52 is still available.  What is going on?

The problem could be that you don't have enough storage on the device itself, not on iCloud.  Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device.  Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud as well.

  • ICloud Space Issue, Cannot Backup

iCloud claim there is insuficient space and cannot back up my phone. I currently have only 1 back up from my iPad on there with 445MB, but somehow iCloud says there is only 662MB available from the total 5GB of free space.

Your space is spent on mail and documents. If you are running out of space, you can buy more or delete stuff. There is a bar in system preferences that lets you know how much space you have used up.
It is inside the red box in the screen shot below.
The green bar represents storage that you have used (I have hardly used any) and if you click on manage, then you can buy more storage.

  • How does iCloud Photo Library backup photos & save iCloud space

I was reading about how to free up some space on my iCloud account (5GB).
Since the Camera Roll is the only thing that is backed up to iCloud, I would periodically import all my photos to iPhoto and delete them from my device.  This would make the Camera Roll pictures move over to my other albums which are NOT backed up to iCloud.  Now I ran into some apple documentation which explains what exactly gets backed up on an iOS device and its reads like this:
Photos and videos on your iOS devices, unless you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta on your iOS 8.1 device. If you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta, your photos and videos are already stored in iCloud, so they aren’t included in your iCloud Backup.
So basically if I turn on this iCloud Photo Library on my iOS device, it won't back up any photos to iCloud, because they are already stored in iCloud?  What does that mean?  Is this going to free up some iCloud space if I turn it on on my device?  If so, how exactly does it work that will save me space?
    Thanks

And of those 4.3GB of backup, my Photo Library is 1.4GB.
So my question is, how do I prevent my Photo Library from being backed up to the cloud, since I already have a backup of it everytime I connect to iPhoto and it copies all those photos to my mac?
I don't know, sorry. It's supposed to work alongside Photos & iCloud, so that photos are stored only once. When it doesn't work you have a couple of options as I see it –
Delete the old backups on iCloud to hopefully start over (I don't like deleting the only backup of anything).
Forget about iCloud backups & use iTunes to backup instead, it might not be suitable if you have no computer etc.
    Buy more storage for iCloud.
I don't use iCloud backup, it bemuses me with issues like this, there is no easy way to resolve when it fails.
And one more question while we are at it...can I erase iphoto from my computer now that I have the new Photos app?
That is up to you. If you are happy you do not need it & have a backup of it go ahead & remove it. You can re-download it from the app store if it is already in your Mac App store account.

  • ICloud storage issue; Restoring iPhone calendar from iMac after accidental iCloud deletion

I set up iCloud to back up calendars and contacts and for find my phone.  Initially, it seemed to work alright.  Then I got messages on iPhone that there wasn't enough iCloud storage, even though the storage tab showed that I had used none of my iCloud storage at all.  So I turned off iCloud/contacts.   In iTunes I switched back from iCloud backup to backup from my iMac.
Later I got the same message about not enough room in iCloud even though only calendars involved.  So I truned off iCloud/calendar on my iPhone and was given the choice of keeping the calendars from the iCloud or deleting them (a foolish choice without a failsafe!!!).  I clumsily and mistakenly hit delete.  My calendars have most recently been synced with my new iMac and appear on the iMac and should also be in TM.  But right now there is no data in my iPhone calendar.
When i go to calendars within the iiphone calendar there is a check next to Calender under "from MY Mac" and no reference to iCloud.  (There are no separate calendars for me, my wife, and joint.  Does this mean somehow these calendars have been merged because of iCloud?)
I don't want to do another sync until I can make sure that the sync with the iMac will resotre the calendar(s) to the iPnone.  How do I do this?
Do I have to do anything on the iMac before I try a sync?
How do I avoid these problems in the future?  The only thing I really would like from iCloud is "find my phone".  How do I keep that capability without backing up or su=yncing otherwise anything through iCloud?
    Is iCloud still Beta?

Apple walked me through this and helped me revert to backing up on my iMac, using iCloud only for find my iPhone and iMac.  The process, however, is not straightforward and what the respective mac and iPhone support people (yes, they have that kind of specialization) led me through was clearer, if somewhat convoluted, than any instructions on Apple's support or community pages.
Since my main concern was not losing my calendar and contacts information, the key was saving that, via export, to my desktop.  Sorry I didn't write down all the other steps - but I see that as Apple's job.  Back in the days of the IIC, Apple's manual was a model of clarity and completeness at the same time.
Bottom line is while my immediate concerns were resolved, the underlying iCloud storage issue was not.  On my iPhone, I was being told that my attempts to backup to the iCloud failed because I didn't have enough storage, even though I determined almost none of my alloted space was used.  This issue is not helped by the multiplicity of settings relating to iCloud, or the interfaces (such as the iCloud on the iMac through Mavericks) which present a screen of icons without additional information.
For my purposes, iCloud remains Beta.

  • TS4009 I seem to have 2 iCloud accounts with different names - a free storage that came with my Macbook and one I used when I bought some iCloud space. How can I cancel the free account?

I seem to have 2 iCloud accounts with different names - a free storage that came with my MacBook and one I used when I bought some iCloud space. How can I cancel the free account? Because of this I can't access iMatch and the ICloud account I paid for on my MacBook
Any ideas cos its frustrating that I can't access something I paid for!

  • Hi there, I pay for extra iCloud space online. However I cannot seem to find any of my photos or account? As my iPod/iPhone only hold 1000 pictures, where are the previous pictures? And how can I access them?

You cannot use iCloud Storage to suppliment your iPad. They are mainly used to backup iPad.
    Free up space on iPad
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed to free up space on iPad.

  • How to free up iCloud space from pictures

iCloud tells me Ive run out of space for backups.
I am backing up my iPad which has very few photos and my iPhone which has a lot.
    Storage & Backup reads:
    iPhone 3.7GB
    iPad 364MB
    Docs&Data 8.6MB
    Mail 312.2MB
    Available 643MB
    Drilling down into my iPhone
    4.4GB Next Backup Size
    4.1GB Camera Roll
    151MB iBooks
    22MB Twitter
    12MB Whatsapp
    5MB Waze
Anwyay, we can see the culprit here
    My Photos App Shows this:
    Camera Roll 414
    Photo Library 2459
    Last 12 Months 407
    Last Import 23
My question is how should I manage this in a smart way?  My iPhone is 32GB.  I have quite a bit of free space.  But how does this really work?
As I take pictures, I want them backed up on the cloud in case something happens to my phone.  Once I plug it into my mac, those pics in the Camera Roll go into my Photo Library, right?  So if they are in the Photo Library, I shouldnt need to back them up to the cloud anymore.
So here is my question...I actually have duplicates on my phone right?  I can see those 23 last imported pictures, they are all in the Camera Roll but they are also in the PhotoLibrary (on my iPhone).  If those 23 pics are in the Last Import, that means they are backed up to my iPhoto app on my mac.  Which is why they show up on the iPhone's PhotoLibrary folder.  So there is no sense in having them in Camera Roll as well, is there?  Taking up valuable iCloud space...
How should I proceed?  I want to free up the space I have in Camera Roll by having all those pics and movies show up in PhotoLibrary and have a hardcopy on my ssd but I dont want them backing up into iCloud.
I DO HOWEVER, want to maintain the iCloud-CameraRoll-backup feature activated so that pictures I take today until the time I backup to iPhoto on Mac, are backed up to the iCloud.
    phew!

    For example,
This is what I had above:
My Photos App Shows this (on iPhone):
    Camera Roll 414
    Photo Library 2459
    Last 12 Months 407
    Last Import 23
I took some pictures today and connected the iPhone to my mac.  iPhoto popped open and I selected the new photos to import.
    iPhoto says
    Photos 2643
    Last Import 18.
18 is the number of photos I imported.  However, my iPhone Photos app still shows:
My Photos App Shows this (on iPhone):
    Camera Roll 414
    Photo Library 2459
    Last 12 Months 407
    Last Import 23
I always keep my photos on the device even after I import them to iPhoto.  So indeed they are on my iPhone's Camera Roll.  But they are not on the iPhone's Photo Library nor in the iPhone's Last Import.
So if I were to erase those 18 new pics from CameraRoll, I would have them on my mac, but not on my device!
I want my pics on the device, just not backing up to iCloud.
So what makes my pics on iPhone go from Camera Roll to PhotoLibrary?

  • My iphone 5 is 32GB and I keep it backed up in icloud. A recent message suggested that I don't have enough icloud space so I have deleted all back up - it still says no icloud space - help!!! I am not a techy person and this is driving me mad!! :(

Please can somebody help ....My iphone said not enough icloud space available, so I have delete all back ups and checked what apps are linked to my back up and it is only my photos. Since deleting all current back ups I have tried to back up  again and it still says not enough space when I have 5GB/ 5GB available.
Can anybody help please? I'd be really greatful as this is driving me mad... why can't things just be simple x

The problem could be that you don't have enough storage on the device itself, not on iCloud.  Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device.  Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud.
    Also check:
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage; there, tap the device you need info on and the resulting screen lists Backup Options with which apps store data on iCloud as well.  Tap Show All Apps to get the complete list of apps and MB used for backup storage.
A device needs many MB of storage in order to perform a backup to iCloud.

  • Any way start over from scratch to fix iCloud calendar issues in Outlook 2010?

I'm suddenly having perplexing iCloud calendar issues in Outlook.  Forget the hundreds and hundreds of duplicate entries for birthdays and holidays, and the thousands of duplicate contacts - I've just been manually deleting them from Outlook.  I also tried manually deleted iCloud files from iCloud on outlook, but this does not seem to affect what is on iCloud itself.  I've now got an issue where if I add an appointment on my iPhone, it appears on Icloud but not in Outlook 2010 even though the iPhone calendar is displayed in Outlook. iPad appointments show up on iPhone, iCloud and Outlook.  iCloud entered appointments show up on iPhone, and iPad and Outlook.  Of course it is maddening that there is a separate calendar for each (there is only one of me, so why a separate calendar in Outlook  for every source is beyond me).  How can I get my iPhone to start showing up again in Outlook?  Another issue is that now every time I click on calendar in Outlook, it takes 2-3 minutes to display the calendar because iCloud seems to be syncing. I'm assuming this is because there a so many duplicates.  I've removed Icloud from Outlook. Ran a repair on Outlook.  Uninstalled iCloud. Reinstalled.  Re-added to outlook., but the issue is never fixed.  I'm considering make a brand new Apple ID and abandoning my current one, but that means I have to change my iPad, iCloud, iPhone, family iPhones, Outlook, readd credit card, reload all of the data.  That's a pain.  I sure would be nice to have a simple way of editing the iCloud data and adding devices (and having a more descriptive source name would be even better).

I found sync options under "info"
I was looking to sync the information from the phone back into outlook, It looks like these options will sync what is on outlook into the phone..
I wanted to export from the phone (which has all of the old appointments and updated contacts) , back into outlook
    Any other thoughts?
    Thanks

  • Regarding space issue

There is an space issue in datatop.Could you please help me out in deleting any logs and unnecessary data in that location. As the mount which own datatop is completely filled.

    Hi,
Do you have any archivelog files on this disk? If so, consider moving/deleting obsolete files. For datafiles/tablespaces, if it is possible to shrink it, please do so. Otherwise, you need to move it to some other disk.
Also, if AUTOEXTEND is enabled, you need to disable it (at least for now) until you have more space on this disk.

  • ICloud Sync issues between iPhone and MacBook

I have a peculiar problem. I have iCloud turned on for Contacts, Calendar and Notes between my iPhone 6P and my MacBookPro running OS X 10.10.2. If I make  a change or add an entry on the MBP, it does not show up on the iPhone until I make a change to something on the iPhone, then the iPhone changes go to the MBP, and the MBP changes then, and only then, appear on the iPhone.
I have the same iCloud account on both devices. Very confused. (I have not done anything regarding Family Sharing, and I do have the iCloud drive turned on.)
    Any clues?

  • What is the most iCloud space I can buy? Is there more than 55GB?

What is the most iCloud space I can buy? Is there more than 55GB.

No.  55GB is the largest you can have (5GB free + 50GB upgrade).

  • Why are the backups to iCloud much smaller than those to my PC?  I subscribed to extra iCloud space expecting for the backups to be the same size.  Now I have more unused iCloud space I don't need, can I get a refund?

Backups to my PC were almost 30 G bytes each time,  backup to the Icloud is only 1.4 G bytes.  Expecting the backups to be about the same size I subscribed to extra Icloud space.  Can I stop my Icloud pace subscription amd get a refund?  I have all this extra space and have no use for it.  It does not appear there is a way to use this space for other storage purposes.

You can't merge iCloud backups.  You could create a current backup of your phone, then restore the backup of your old phone to it and save any data you want to keep, the restore it again to the current backup.  Some of your old recovered data could then be synced back to your new phone (such as photos), but other data cannot (such as text message conversations).  You may not want to save any of your old data but restoring the backup would be the only way to see what's there.
