ICloud WebMail Spinning Progress Never Ends

I've given iCloud a month to work out these issues and unfortunately they have just not gone away.
iCloud webmail is awful.  All I get are spinning progress bars, poorly timed refreshes of the interface, very slow performance, no progress, sometimes it won't ever log in.  Trying to do a search almost always leads to a neverending spinning progress bar.
What is going on?  I have been a iTools, .Mac, mobileMe, and now iCloud user since the product's inception and it has had its ups and downs for sure, but this is the worst I have ever seen the webmail interface and performance.  It's unacceptable for an email address that I depend on.
The other problem that hasn't gone away is that iCloud simply will not push email to my iPhone.

Agreed. Also a user since the inception of iTools. This is worse than the .Mac-to-MobileMe transition. Not to mention the fact that my iPhone won't reload iCloud email unless I open the app. What a mess.

    I have taken all the steps to verify my iCloud account but in Settings the "verifying" icon at the top of the page keeps spinning and never actually verifying the account

    Did you respond to the verification email from Apple by clicking the Verify Now link?  If not, check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account.  Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

    The problem with write permissions for the OneDrive folder only shows up in Lightroom 6's export dialogue, that's why it's to irritating. Lightroom 5.7.1 is not having that problem nor does the file explorer. The problem also exists on both of my machines. I will try to check for other problems with the OneDrive troubleshooter though: Running the OneDrive troubleshooter - Windows Help

  • Infinite spinning progress indicator of death

    I've seen quite a few complaints about the iPhone after the 3.1 update. I filed a lengthy bug report with Apple, but here are the salient points. I would be curious to hear if any of you experience the same symptoms. The key for me is that while the phone works fine for a while, once I experience a long-time spinning progress indicator, stuff starts to fail until I reboot:
    (1) The problems begin after experiencing a long-term spinning progress indicator ("infinite spinning progress indicator of death") when trying to make some network connection (email or facebook in my case).
    (2) After the spinning indicator problem, future connections regularly fail/stall until I reboot the phone.
    (3) After the spinning indicator problem, shutdown takes longer and is a little weird (e.g., the splash screen reappears in the middle of the shutdown).
    (4) After the spinning indicator problem, updates to the phone's charge status (either up or down) don't appear to work until I reboot the phone.
    (5) The spinning indicator problem can occur independent of the network application I am running (I can disable email, but still get it if using facebook and vice versa).

    I have the same issues as Todd, albeit with one caveat. These issues (unable to get email, never-ending PID, battery life about 16 hours) appear to go away if I disable 3G and do a full reboot of the phone (holding down both buttons and not releasing until the Apple logo returns). Once I do that, the phone behaves just as my original iPhone, just no 3G.
    Actions taken - full restore to v3.1, did not install the AT&T MMS update afterwards, disable 3G, full reboot.

  • ICloud webmail problem.

    Hello,
    Having some trouble staying logged into iCloud webmail as of 3:30pm ET Tuesday 06/17/14.
    Every time I sign in it signs me out only seconds after logging on. This is happening on my 2013 iMac 27. I'm logging in through my Chrome browser.
    Anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Also, on a sidenote my Mail app will not connect my iCloud account. That's actually been since 05/27/14. I haven't changed a thing on my end - password, account settings etc.
    Thanks in advance for any help!
    - Brent

    Try using Safari and see if you can stay logged in.
    Most likely you need to re-enter your passwords in Mail.
    In Mail, under Window in the Menu bar select Connection Doctor. Do you see a green or red light by iCloud?
    A red light indicates you need to check your settings.
    If your password is missing, you need to add.
    Under the advanced tab make sure Apple Token is selected.
    Click out of the account to save.
    Check Connection Doctor to see if you have the green light now.
    If no, I would remove the account and Apple setup the account again.
    Run Keychain First Aid
    Open Keychain Access, located in Applications/Utilities
    Choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.
    Enter your user name and password.
    Select Repair and click Start.
    If any problems are found run again to verify all repaired.

  • Uploading never ends

    my uploading to ANY site NEVER ends!!! tis problem only Firefox experiences!!! it doesn't matter what site I upload to Firefox displays a uploading and never stops for eternity!!! I tried an extension called 'upload progress' to see what the slowness is, and when it gets to 100% I NEVER get redirected to the next step in the upload progress!!! Facebook, Forums, image sites, everything I upload to experiences this issue on Firefox

    Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
    #Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
    #After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
    #Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer#w_uninstall-firefox|Uninstall Firefox]] article.
    '''IMPORTANT:''' On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do '''not''' check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox [[Profiles|user profile data]] will be removed from your computer.
    After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
    * '''(On 32-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
    * '''(On 64-bit Windows)''' ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox''
    #Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
    #In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
    #Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
    #* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the '''Program Files''' folder to open it.
    #* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the '''Program Files (x86)''' folder.
    #Look for a '''Mozilla Firefox''' folder. If you find one, right-click it and select ''Delete'' and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
    Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    #Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    #Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Have a wonderful day!

  • AdamSync from AD to LDS goes into a continuous never ending loop... can't figure this out.

    I THINK I've got this thing configured up to the point where it should be able to sync.  The XML config is set to just grab a single OU with roughly 12 accounts in it.
    Everything seems to connect OK, then it does a ton of "Processing Entry", even though there are only a few accounts in this OU.
    Then it begins to do "Adding target object..." and gets stuck in a never ending loop.
    Can someone point me in the right direction on how to troubleshoot this?

  • Dropped database in a never-ending app

    Hello,
    I have an application which processes all the time by implementing a never-ending loop and a sleep at a given interval. It accesses the database to retrieve, insert and update data throughout the entire process. I have created a connection pool that contains a configurable number of connections (for any future multi-threading) that will be retrieved to complete the SQL transaction and released when it no longer needs it. The list of connections is decreased when I access the pool and increased when the connection is released. My concern is that I would like to detect when the DB has been dropped and brought back up without having to restart my app. The first way to detect it would be to check the connection object when it is used, but I am not sure if that is the way to do it correctly. Does it fail when I create the preparedStatement or when I run executeQuery or executeUpdate? What is the best way to detect whether I need to re-create my pool of connections?
    I appreciate your feedback.
    Thank you

    It will fail when you try to open the connection. If for example you are using a JNDI DataSource when you call the DataSource.getConnection() method it will throw a SQLException with the correct code and message for the database vendor.
    That said, I wouldn't do it the way you're doing it. By holding an open connection, you're pirating a connection resource that the DB may need for something else, or another app might need and in my opinion it's just bad design.
    I would recommend opening the connection at the beginning of the method where you are doing the data access and then closing it (along with all of the other database resources before leaving that method. A general code pattern would look like this.
    public void getSomeInformation(){
      String sql = "SELECT something FROM somewhere" ;
      try{
        // initialize the connection
        // initialize the statement object
        // prepare whatever parameters
        // execute the statement
        // make sure you got some results and process accordingly
      catch(SQLException e){
        // handle any exceptions that might come up
      finally{
        // close the result set
        // close the statement
        // close the connection
        // set all of the above to null to mark them for GC
    }Some of this may seem like overkill, but that's a feeling that goes away when you've had your application spin into the ground because you accidentally left database resources open and killed the database and the application server.
    Yes, there's a little overhead in terms of getting the connection, but it's a delay that my customers have never complained about in the face of the abject reliability of making sure that the house is clean and orderly all the time.

  • Syncing calendar or contacts never ends...

    Love my iPhone, love my new Macbook Air.
    First time I sync'ed the two my 600 contacts made it from the computer to the phone.
    Now I'm syncing again a few days later and music syncs, video syncs, but if I choose to sync contacts or calendar it never ends. I've left it for as much as 30 minutes and nada.
    No progress is shown as it is with music, etc -- just a barber-pole like progress bar that never changes.
    I've tried checking the sync box that says "for this sync only replace the content on the phone" and it doesn't make a difference.
    I've tried powering the phone down and back up and nothing.
    I rather not completely reset the phone because I suspect that this will wipe the call logs, voicemails, SMS conversations, etc.
    If it helps, I think the problem started because during this 2nd sync it detected a bunch of "conflicts" in the address book and asked which version I wanted to keep. I went through and chose all the ones to keep but before that sync was done the sync got hung up because an SMS message came in which it was in progress and when I tried to slide the slider to get to the SMS I killed the sync (I didn't realize the slider killed syncs at that point).
    Any ideas?

    Petestein1
    One thing to try is to open isync from your applications folder.
    Once isync is open, click on isync at the top of the screen and choose preferences.
    In the preferences, reset sync history.
    After sync history is reset, quit isync and try syncing the iphone again.
    If the issue persists, try creating a new user account.
    Log into the new account and open ical and address book.
    Put a test contact into address boo and a test event into ical.
    Then open itunes, go through the initial setup and try syncing just contacts and calendars.
    Make sure to merge data.
    If the sync goes on in the new user account, then some how the data has become corrupted in your account and is causing the sync to hang.
    Hope this helps.

    I have seen an almost identical problem within an Apache CXF web service. In my situation the end of the stack looks almost identical, stuck forever (apparently) inside the native Deflater.deflateBytes.
    In my situation I have seen this with two threads, each independently using GZIPOutputStream.
    I am really starting to think that there is a thread safety issue with the native GZIP code - two independent objects in two threads are simultaneously zipping and both get stuck with 100% CPU utilization in the native code. Interestingly my situation is also in the close processing, but not inside the finish processing. Of all the situations I see with searching for similar situations (search the web for Deflater.java:306) there seems to be a set of common circumstances:
    * Exactly the same last few levels on the stack (ending in Deflater.deflateBytes (Native Method)
    * Two threads interacting with GZIP
    * Often seems to relate to close processing (perhaps a short data remainder problem?)
    My situation is documented here:

  • Spinning Cog Never Stops Under Mailbox

    Ever since upgrading (now 10.6.1), the progress status spinning cog never stops next to my mailbox. I can send and receive mail without any problems. How can I stop this?

    It went away after I quit and restarted the program. I think it had to do the the new indexing for Spotlight, since I just installed Snow Leopard.
    Thanks.

  • Macbook halts in apple logo and spinning progress gear screen.

    I have the 15-inch Macbook Pro that was purchase last year.
    I tried booting up the mac and now it halts on the apple logo screen with the spinning progress gear. I would let it sit there for 10-20 minutes with no luck. Prior to this problem, I would start it up as usual and I never changed any computer settings or downloaded anything. I tried booting to safe mode, but all I see is a progress bar that stalls 1/10 of the way.
    The only thing I've noticed is after letting the mac sit for 5 minutes,the back starts to get really hot. Is this normal?

    Could very possibly be directory corruption. You will have to get access to an external drive and copy all your files and data from your hard drive. Then you are going to have to completely erase your hard drive and reformat it. Reinstall all your apps and reset your network and printer settings. I know, a pain in the but.
    I would first try installing OSX on the external drive, and boot from it. When the migration assistant pops up I would pray that your original HD is visible, and use it to migrate from. If it works, use disk utility to reformat your original drive, and carbon copy cloner to move everything back to it. The likelihood that this will work is not good, but is probably worth the hour or so that it will take to try.
    Note, if Disk utility doesn't see your drive when you try to reformat it, it has probably failed, and you will have to take it to Apple. If your data isn't backed up, that is your first priority at this point.

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to upgrade the firmware from version 1.00.01 B15 to 1.00.01 17 (the only one available on linksys website). It's not allowed to turn off power or reset it. However, the upgrade progress stopped in 98% and never ended so far. Should I wait for longer time (another day)? Or I can just reset/power off it?
    Attached a screen snapshot for reference.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Firmware upgrade process should be complete....
