ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED error in SM59

Hi,
I configured ADS and it was working fine with http service.
Now i configured SSL in Java and ABAP instances.
I need to setup SSL communication between these 2 instances.
I did configuration for that but in SM59 when i do connection test for ADS_HTTPS RFC it is giving me an error ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED.
Please can anybody guide me with a solution.

    Chagne the username to

  • ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED error while testing HTTP RFC in ECC 6 IDES

    Hi Experts,
I have ECC 6.0 IDES system - new installation. I have created client 100 which is a copy of client 000. Being an IDES system, client 800 is automatically created.
While trying to connect this system to PI 7.1, I have created one HTTP RFC (H) in client 100 giving the details of PI system which is working perfectly fine. I have maintained the SLD details as well. But on testing the same RFC on client 800, its giving me the error as ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED. I have created the user in PI which is maintained as well.
Even If I create a new HTTP RFC connection in client 800, its giving the same error again. User in 100 & 800 is same and both having maximum authorizations. Any opinions on why I am getting the above said error in Client 800?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Naresh.

    Hi,
SMICM Trace file gives the following log when I am testing the HTTP Connection SAP_PID from SM59 of XYZ Client 100:
[Thr 896] IcmConnConnect: direct connect to <fully qualified hostname of PI system:50000>
[Thr 896] NiHsLGetNodeAddr: found hostname '<fully qualified hostname of PI system>' in cache
[Thr 896] NiIGetNodeAddr: hostname '<fully qualified hostname of PI system>' = addr xx.yy.zzz.lmn
    [Thr 896] NiIGetServNo: servicename '50000' = port C3.50/50000
And when I am testing the same connection from SM59 of XYZ Client 800, getting the following log:
[Thr 4928] NiHsLGetNodeAddr: hostname 'proxy' not found by operating system
[Thr 4928] *** WARNING => Connection request from (55/18633/1) to host: proxy, service: 8080 failed (NIEHOST_UNKNOWN)

I tried to take the restart of the system but still giving the same error.
    Any suggestion???

  • Getting ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED  message in SM59.....?????

    Hi,
I have set all the SSL and ICM related parameters in the instance profile. I have activated the HTTPS on 18040 port. also i have installed the SSL ceertificate in strust.
but im still getting the ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED when trying to test the connection in SM59.
Any suggestions like what to look for ??
    Thanks
      Sourav

    Hi Sourav,
Just refer this blogs, hope this should help you out.
    INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI: Connection fails
    ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED
    SAF - ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED
    HTTP adapter setup
    /people/krishna.moorthyp/blog/2006/07/23/http-errors-in-xi
Process Integration (PI) & SOA Middleware
    Or just refresh your cache
    https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700003163902004E/HowTo_handle_XI_30_Caches.pdf
Or You should check whether the HTTP service is working on your system.
transaction smicm -> goto -> services. check the entry for HTTP. If necessary, a restart of the J2EE server might help.
Also check the http adapter is active.
    transaction sicf -> default_host->sap->xi->adapter_plain
    This should solve your problem,
    Reward if useful.
    Thanks
    Younus

    Dear Friends,
We are trying to publish a webservice via tcode WSPUBLISH.

  • ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED  Error 400

    Hello All,
i have one synchronous interface on production system.
it was running fine till now.
But on Sunday we got around 1000 messages in SMQ2.
they all are in same queue.
But now same interface is running successfully....... (through another queue)
Now how can resend these 1000 messages?
1st message is in Automatic restart mode & has error:
      <SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">CLIENT_RECEIVE_FAILED</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1>400</SAP:P1>
      <SAP:P2>ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED</SAP:P2>
      <SAP:P3 />
Remaining messages are in scheduled Mode.
    Its urgent...Plz help.
    Thanks,
    Maheshwari.

    Hi Maheshwari,
Statuses such as HOLDING or FAILED usually happen only for delivery semantics EOIO (exactly once in order) or BE (best effort means Asynchronous). TO_BE_DELIVERED occurs while the message is put into the Messaging System receive queue. This is done via the Messaging System receive servlet:
    http://<Host>:<PORT>/MessagingSystem/receive/<CONNECTION>/<PROTOCOL>
The MS returns HTTP 200 to the Integration Server only if this was executed successfully. In this example scenario, status TO_BE_DELIVERED should not appear since we assume that the IS has called the servlet successfully.
The status is updated from TO_BE_DELIVERED to DELIVERING when the message has popped out of the receive queue and the event handler lookup was successful, so there is a small gap where TO_BE_DELIVERED could remain in the message monitor, although it was delivered from IS successfully.
if you face Blocked Queues (SYSFAIL), Incoming Messages are blocked then follow the steps
1.) Go to SMQ2 (qRFC monitor) and execute
2.) If there is a queue not moving, double click on queues ‘til you see the status. SYSFAIL due to error – move to the right to see the error text
If error is due to cache not refreshed:
1.) Go to transaction SXI_CACHE and check if CACHE is not up to date In this case, CACHE contents are up-to-date.
2.) If CACHE is not up to date, click Refresh before refreshing the cache just in case someone else already did it. If still not up to date, click “Start Delta Cache Refresh” in “XI Runtime Cache”.
If CACHE is already up to date as seen above, proceed to next steps.
3.) Then, go back to SMQ2. Unlock the queue that is in SYSFAIL. To do this:
a.) Choose the queue that is in SYSFAIL.
    b.) Click unlock icon
4.) Then, double click in the queue name ‘til you go to the user.
5.) Double click on the user to go to the message in error
6.) Select the one in error
7.) Click restart and refresh to see if the message will be processed successful.
If error text is due to JCo failure (Java connector)
When J2EE is already up, do the following:
1.) Just go inside the queue in error ‘til you go to the user.
2.) Double click on the user to go to the message in error.
3.) Click/Choose the message in error (just going to the right for the error message, it is JCo failure related)
4.) Restart the message (retaining the trace level)
6.) Check for the status of the XML if it is now processed.
7.) Then, click F3 or back ‘til you go back to the queue in SYSFAIL.
8.) Then, reset status of the LUW of the queue in SYSFAIL.
After that, it could be seen that queues are now in RUNNING status.
Go to SM59 and create a RFC destination with the connection type G and service no as 80 and website name in the target host field and approipriate path prefix in path prefix field.
Ex:https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/collaboration.sdn should be in target host and /sdn/collaboration.sdn in path prefix.
    check in R/3:
SCIF: Is the service sap/xi/engine activated?

    Help me resolve this
    Regards,
    Mahesh.

    Hi,
    Please follow this steps:
Creating RFC Destinations in the ABAP and Java Environment
You need to create the following RFC destinations in transaction SM59 (ABAP) and the Visual Administrator (Java):
    u2022 AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
    u2022 AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
    u2022 LCRSAPRFC
    u2022 SAPSLDAPI
Depending on your client settings, it may be necessary to be logged on your SAP Exchange Infrastructure host as SAP system user with the authorization to maintain customizing tables and to release transport orders. Note, that user "SAP*" or "DDIC" does not have these authorizations.
Maintaining the RFC Connections (Transaction SM59)
    1. Log on to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host.
    2. Call transaction SM59.
    3. Choose Create.
    4. Enter at least the following:
    RFC destination: AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
    Connection type: T
    Description: <your description>
    5. Choose ENTER
    6. Choose the tab Technical settings and do the following:
    a. Select Registered Server Program
    b. In the Program ID field, enter: AI_RUNTIME_<SID> where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your Integration Server host. Use uppercase letters only.

    1. On your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host, start the J2EE Engine administration tool.
    2. Choose Cluster u2192 Server u2192 Services u2192 JCo RFC Provider
    3. In the section RFC destination, enter exactly the same program ID and gateway options for AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER that you used in the step Maintaining the RFC connection above. Additionally, set the number of processes to 10.
    4. In the section Repository, do the following:
    a. Enter the parameter for the SAP XI host: Application Server, System Number, Client and Language.
    b. For User and Password maintain the login parameters for the user SAPJSF.
    c. Select the flag Unicode.
    6. Choose Set.
    7. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 6 for the remaining destinations:
    Destination
    Values
    AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
    u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
    u2022 Number of processes: 10
    LCRSAPRFC

    u2022 Number of processes: 3
    SAPSLDAPI
    u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
    u2022 Number of processes: 3
    Testing the RFC Destination
After you have maintained all RFC destinations in both the ABAP and Java environment, you can check all the connections above as follows:
    1. Call transaction SM59 again.
    2. Open your RFC destination.
    3. Choose Test Connection. No error should be displayed.
    This will solve your problem.

  • Error in SM59 TCP/IP connection after kernel upgrade to 215..

    Hi
We recently upgraded our kernel to patch 215(NW 7.0)..
We built the kernel by first taking the entire kernel stack( level 201) and then  patched it with dw, enserver, lib_dbsl, tp, r3trans, r3inlpgm, saposcol with level = 215 except for lib_dbsl, which is 214 and enserver which is 207...
After the upgrade to this new level, we have a SM59 TCP/IP connection which calls an RPG program located in /qsys.lib/..(start on application server radio option), which has stopped working...
Now this RFC doesn't work anymore...
When we test it, it shows us the following:

This error may be due to kernel patch level. You can try some other patch level. If you can raise an OSS message with SAP, they can tell you exactly which Kernel patch will solve your problem.

  • Connection error in SM59

    Hi,
we have written a script with multiple parameters.when ever we will try to execute the Script with the parameters it is working fine.
but whenever we will executing it through the transaction SM49 we are getting the below error.
    error details:
    connecting to server....
    connection denied#
    connection denied#
    connection closed
can anybody let us know how can we execute the script with multiple parameters through Transaction SM49.
    Regards,
    Vishal

you can debug this at sm59.
    1. Go to "RFC" and delete Trace.
    2. execute your Sm59 check
    3. Go to "RFC" and view Trace.
    maybe it´s helpful.

    Arpit,
I am pretty sure that you have a network issue. Your ICM/ICF is up an running. Receives a request from your client program (the one using your proxy class), tries to connect to the URL you specified and fails to receive an answer.
It's like calling a URL in your browser and not receiving an answer. So, if it's not the proxy, you maybe have a firewall issue, a nameserver issue or something in this area.
If you had a different problem, say you misspelled the service name or something you would get another error like CONNECTIONREFUSED or something.
    I'd investigate network issues.

    anton

    /people/rashid.javed/blog/2007/03/11/cricket-world-cup-http-client-and-simple-transformations

On executiong of: CALL METHOD client->receive it gives error:

  • "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED" error for cross catalog search

We are running SRM 7.0 SP 08.
I have set up the external web services to access multiple external product catalogs to create shopping carts. These individual catalogs work fine for SC creation. (BTW, we removed the parameter for HOOK_URL as it seems to be not required starting SRM7).
However, when we are trying to run "cross catalog search", either from SC creation wizard or from normal SC creation screen, the popup window would appear with search in progress, but always return no result with detail message: "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED" for all catalogs.
I have debugged the scenario, and the error seems to be from FM /SAPSRM/PDO_CCS_BCKGRSEARCH, which is called in a background task. The statement that got the error is the following, with return code 1.
