Icons buttons on a toolbar

Question

I may have missed something but can anyone please provide a simple example of how to create a buttons toolbar where the buttons are square and contain only icons? I want to create something similar to the icon buttons toolbars in NetBeans. I cannot find a way using code and/or css. Thanks in advance for any help.
