Ideas about non-functional build/iPhone
I have an iPhone app that functions perfectly in the following builds: iPhone simulator (Debug + Release) and iPhone device (Debug + Release). However, the App store feedback that Apple sent is that the app hangs on the startup screen. Since I cannot install the App Store distro on my device, I can't identify the problem. Every other build with the same code functions flawlessly.
Has anyone else encountered such an issue? Apart from getting out Instruments again and looking for leaks, etc. any tips someone can share?
Everything is up-to-date (latest iPhone OS and SDK.) Nothing 3G specific. The first page (on which they say it seems to hang) is a table with several controls - textfields, a segmented control and a UISwitch. I'll go back and look at the object allocations etc. and make sure I haven't done something dumb; but I can't think of why builds from identical code would hang in one case and not in another.

About Ipod Functions of Iphone on Pioner Car Kit

I have a problem with my iphone about of Ipod functions. So, I have a car and there is Pioneer music kit (CD/USB/MP3 Player) on car. So, When I put my "ipod touch (2th generation and 3th generation)" to that, there is no problem, everything working, I can see playlist, play musics, change tracks, all of functions working on control of pioneer music kit. It's already should be like that and there isn't any abnormal situation.
But;
When I put my iphone to that kit, I never play and see my music, also the pionerr music kit haven't seen my phone like ipod touch. Also, I have checked with other iphone's but I have got same result every end of test.
So, Do you have any information/experience or suggestions about that How can I solvbe that?

So I am putting together a site for my wedding and would like to have people RSVP through the site rather than sending out cards with the invite. Other than a straight up email me button, is there a way I could do this? HTML? Something else? I have figured out lots of limitations of iWeb through some interested and creative ways, but am having a lot of trouble with this one. Any ideas?
Do it by using one of the many third party forms.
Try having a look at http://www.wufoo.com. You can design your own form with whatever you like and rather than a contact and feedback form can call it an RSVP form. You will receive an e-mail when someone completes it and the data will be held at Wufoo. You can set it so that they receive either an e-mail response from your when they complete the form or you can choose to take them back to a special thank you page that you create on your site.
Also try Google Docs - you need to create a Google account, but under the Docs section, you can create as many forms as you like with different templates. All the data is stored as a spreadsheet so that it is very easy to see in a tabulated form. Can't re-direct people back to your site though, but there is a personal greeting that you can set and you will receive an e-mail when anyone completes your form.
With the contact and feedback forms, you just create your form and then copy and paste the code into an html snippet on your site on whatever page you want it on.
Your other option is to use something like a guestbook, where you can copy and paste the code into an html snippet on your site and people can sign this as an RSVP.
The other option is a commenting system such as http://www.intensedebate.com. It is free and again, you copy and paste the code into an html snippet on the page of your site that you want it on and people can leave comments and you can reply in real time. You get an e-mail each time someone comments and can set the comments to be moderated first before being posted.
Then of course, you can create your form by placing your own html code into an html snippet and depending on where you are publishing your site - MobileMe or an external server, the form results will be e-mailed to you directly and the form will open in the e-mail client or you can use FormMail (server/host option only).
iWeb may be limiting in some respects, but there are lots of options that you can use to get around this.
I use a mixture on my own site and use both Google Docs and IntenseDebate with the two working well together. -

Did you try reinstalling the app and contacting the developer (there should be a contact link on the app's description page in the store) ? If you don't get a reply from the developer then you could try
'report a problem' link from the purchase history on your computer's iTunes instead of on your iPad : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
i've updated my iphone 4 (gsm) to ios 6.0.1 and after that it's stuck in recovery mode (itunes logo cable), i tried many solutions but nothing works, did any one has an idea about this , thank you
I should add that this has never been Jailbroken. I keep reading that a lot of times this is the case for a jail broken phone.
I have also gone through the not very helpfull steps on apples site to fix this.. It is not a security issue since i dont have an antivirus or any 3rd party software for my computer. -

It sounds like you are talking about an iPhone that has been Activation Locked. This article explains:

If so, the iPhone can never be unlocked without the original Apple ID and password. This is an anti-theft measure. -

Just today, when synching my iphone 4 with my mac, on itunes, I realized that it was not every completing the synch. On the progress bar on itunes it would get to step 2 of 4, and with either contacts of calendar, would just go on and on until I canceled the synch. Any ideas about what I can do?

iphone 3 dropped in salt water. Appears non-functional - won't turn on. Nothing on SIM card -- had that checked. Is there ANY way to retrieve the photos and contacts. There is no backup of them.
leave the phone in rice for >24 hours to see if it will recover
you can check itunes as well to see if there are backups there from the top of the screen hit edit (itunes on mac) > preferences > devices , and see if a backup is listed
also check icloud.com to see if you had any of the information backed up there (only possible if have have a 3gs or higher)
also there are data recovery companies that can recover data even from wrecked hard drives but its not cheap, if your interested in that I would say lookup a company called drivesavers, I believe they are authorized to work on even in warranty iphones

Just bought an iPhone 5C.. Safari is non-functional! A blank frozen screen... What gives? Safari is Apple's browser for gods sakes! Google Chrom works but not Safari? This is nuts. This is an "upgrade"?? Anyone else experiencing this? Or should I just give up and return this

Wired interface non-functional
So I have a most unusual problem with a mac mini server that is driving me banana's that I hope someone in the Apple community has run into, and found a decent solution..
The mac mini (2.3GHz quad core i7, late 2012) is running 10.9 and server 3.0.1. I did an upgrade from 10.8 (and whatever the previous version server was)..
Since then the wired ethernet interface (en0) literally stopped working. (Links up, but no connectivity.. no ping, it does not even send an ARP)
Data points about the problem.
- It worked flawlessly up until the upgrade to 10.9.
- wireless interface is still fine, static or dhcp.
- The IP is statically configured via System preferences - Network.
- ifconfig in terminal show NO IPADDRESS assigned to the interface.
- if I reconfigure the interface to DHCP, it will not receive an IP and ends up with an APIPA address..
- if I go into terminal and 'ifconfig en0 down' then 'ifconfig en0 <IP> up' the interface works again until restart. It will also correctly display the IP in terminal.
- If I reset, it goes back into this same state (network preferences shows proper config, ifconfig does not, and the interface is non functional)
- If I then go to cli, and manually ifconfig down then up, all is good again.. Doing so from system prefs has no affect..
Here is where it gets really interesting, and why I am convinced this is a software issue.. I did a clean install of 10.9 and Server on an external USB disk, and things work exactly as expected if I boot from that Volume.. If I boot from the internal drive, Its in the broken state again..
This absolutelty tells me its some kind of software issue, and I am out of ideas short of wiping the internal drive, and reloading all the data from scratch..
Anyone else run into this? If yes, were you able to fix it without wiping/reloading?First, thank you for taking the time to respond and offering great ideas..
I'd delete the interface & recreate it.
In 'System Preferences > Network tab' select the ethernet, click the - button. Then add it again. Reboot & see if it has any effect.
- Had no affect.. More accurately, it works the same as doing ifconfig down/up in cli, where the interface will work again until the next reboot.
See what appears in Console (Spotlight search for it) in the 'All messages" section when you remove connect the ethernet.
- Log messages are below.. Interestingly, I do not get the failure messages that I have highlighted in red on another machine that is is also running 10.9, with server loaded.

Have you tried changing the port on the switch it is connected to?
- Yes, for ease of testing I have it plugged directly into my MacBook Pro (I also tried new cable first )

- No, Same results.
Again, booting the machine from a clean install on a USB disk, does not show the issue.. I’ve got a lot of data on the machine, so I am doing anything I can to avoid wiping and reloading it all.. Ive added the output of etrecheck, in case its of any help.

WAKE UP APPLE. SpotLight & Time-Machine effectively non-functioning after 10.7.5 combo update
I have just done a complete clean restore from Snow Leopard DVD, doing all its Updates. Then, installed Lion from App store and did the 10.7.5 Combo update. (All that took 2 days).
Time-Machine and Spotlight non functioning....
Turned off Spotlight and Time-Machine got my apps & data back...
Turned off Time-Machine and turned on Spotlight - nothing.
Followed every combination of the many many helpful tips in this discussion group (involving Onyx, Terminal, Console, Privacy, removing all external drives etc etc). Finally Spotlght began to index.....
3 days later, it was about 60% complete but slowing down. I rebooted (nothing else) and now Spotlight has restarted the Index once again and I have 3 weeks to wait now.... (Ihave about 600 Gbyte of data on a 1 Tbyte disk)
Many others have had similar problems
So clearly there is a significant bug in the system - with no sure fire workaround - and no apparent reaction from Apple staff about what they are doing or what sequence of actions one needs to take to resolve this issue.
This is sad - Apple is going the same way as IBM, DEC, Microsoft, Adobe - loading functioning systems with more and more bells and whistles until finally they trip over their own feet with the complexity of the whole works.
I feel entitled to moan - having owned nothing but Apple computers for 30 years.
(I tried to upgrade to Mountain Lion two weeks ago, but the App store installation just froze and Apple say the DVD drive is a dying species and will supply no disks or other media to do proper restores.....!)
ANY IDEAS ABOUT HOW TO WAKE APPLE PEOPLE UP!Time Machine just doesn't seem to function with lion or Mountaain Lion. I don't know about Spotlight, but I use Intego Backup Assistant for my backup and its doing fine.
