If I have auto sync on will any new ratingd on ipod be wiped?

I have auto sync on. When listening to my iPod I rate tunes. Afterwards if I connect iPod to laptop and start iTunes will it delete any of the new ratings on the iPod or will it transfer them to my iTunes library?

With auto sync, the ratings and playcounts go back into itunes from the ipod.
It is manual sync that does not pay attention to the ipod ratings & playcounts, so you should be OK.
You can only sync to one PC doing it this way - and iPod can only auto sync to one itunes database file (the ITL file).

You are posting a Pages question in the Numbers forum. I am going to ask thie be moved to the Pages forum. In addition please post a screenshot. Based on playing with a chart in Pages, I do not think the charts take their input from a table, but rather, you enter the data by clicking the chart (to activate it), then clicking the button "Edit Chart Data":

I would think you want to have a table in Numbers to create the data, then copy and paste the data into the data table for the chart (I wouldn't type it in)

This is so I can delete music from my ipod knowing its rated on my i-tunes so I can then see later if I want to re-add it based on its rating

Reinstalling OS X doesn't affect user data, provided nothing goes wrong. But it would be very unwise to assume that nothing will go wrong, especially if you're having (unspecified) system issues. You should try to back up all data before you reinstall or do anything else. There are ways to do that, even if you're unable to boot.
If your backups include only user files, you won't be able to access them in Setup Assistant.

posts like this are in my opinion quite inappropriate and immature. I can agree on the fact that at the time of purchase the iPod purchased was exactly to specifications, but if a day/week/month later you can get more (10 GB and video capability) for the same price would you not feel cheated in a certain way? Just imagine it happening with anything other than a technological advancement and imagine it happening to YOU.
Anyway, it would be a very nice gesture for us Apple iPod enthusiasts to be provided with a firmware upgrade if the technology of their iPods is capable of handling videos. I for example am a Windows deciple, but as with everything, having listened to the right reasons, was contemplating to convert to Apple. Let's see how they handle this issue going forward.

No. You can turn your 6G Nano in to be recycled at your local Apple Store for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one. Otherwise, your only other option would be to sell the iPod on Craigslist or eBay and use the proceeds from the sale towards the purchase of the new 7G nano.

I have the latest version of software on my Ipod 1.2 and the latest version Itunes 7.0.1.8. I have syncronized TV shows in the past but I can not anylonger. I get a unknown error (-50). What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same issue. Anything video (music, podcast or TV Shows). I am using Ipod version 1.2 and Itunes 7.0.1.8. I haved tried in both automatic and manual modes. Does anybody have suggestions? I have viewed in the past but not sure if it was on this particular Ipod (have had replacements).

Auto-numbering in Tables - any new suggestions?

I have a table in Pages and I need each row to have a stand-alone number in the first column — simple numbering 1, 2, 3.
If I use the numbered list feature, all the rows are #1.
I have read as many other threads about numbering tables as I could find and tried the =ROW() formula, but it numbers the header row so my first row of data is 1.2. Also it doesn’t auto-number new rows -- you have to paste in the formula in every new row, and that still doesn't solve the issue of numbering the header row.
I tried the auto-fill drag feature (selecting the cells and dragging the corner), but once the cells are numbered, they do not update when the row order changes, and new rows have no numbering. The table is very long and having to update the numbering using the drag feature has become frustrating and cumbersome.
I need my first row of data to be 1 and my second row to be 2 and so on — sounds simple right?
Any suggestions other than the ones above?

p.s., Numbers has the exact same issues and also doesn’t auto number when rows are moved or added, so it doesn't help to work in Numbers and copy ithe spreadsheet over as a table.

In Numbers, or Pages:
If your first row of data is row 2 and you want it to be numbered "1" then you use the formula "=ROW() - 1" (without the quotes) in the first column and fill it down in all the cells of the column.
If all the rows in the table except header and footer rows have that formula in them, Numbers will include the formula when you add new rows. If you rearrange the rows by cutting and pasting, or by dragging a row to somewhere else, of course, it takes the formula with it leaving a blank cell behind. (So don't do that; just move the part of the row from column "B" on.).

Previously I had a windows based laptop which crashed on me and I lost everything. I since have replaced it with a Macbook Pro. I had the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 8 program on the old computer. My upgrade to 13 will now be on my Mac, will this be an issue when I begin my download?

Eliminating the auto sync action when adding new entry in calendar on my BB Curve 8330

Hi everyone,
I am using my Yahoo e-mail as my primary profile for my Calendar (CICAL) and Messaging (CMIME) as my Default Services. I do a daily sync with my Outlook 2003 calendar, notes, contacts, etc, via USB but I do not sync my BB calendar with my Yahoo calendar (I don't even use Yahoo calendar for that matter). Every time I edit an entry on my BB calendar I see the arrows on the top right corner flashing. I guess this means my Curve is trying to sync the changes to some other application, perhaps Yahoo calendar. How do I turn this feature off? I would like to minimize the amount of wireless transmission from my BB and I feel that this is an unnecessary activity since I'm not wirelessly syncing my calendar to anything else.

Right I agree. The BlackBerry will alays display those arrows when it's sending/receiving data. The only way it won't is if you turn the radio off.

Extremely slow sync, locking up computer, new 80G Video iPod

When I plug it into the computer, everything slows down. Sometimes get the message "can't connect to Store perform desired operation" (or some such verbiage)
Tried all the usual tricks I could think of.
Never had this problem with my old 3rd gen iPod.
I am on a Windows XP computer, tried renaming it as a different letter hard drive, tried re-booting computer, tried unplugging & starting over a dozen times.
5th Gen Video iPod 80 G Windows XP 3rd iPod on this machine

with itunes 7, the ipod gets its software updated when itunes connects to apple and downloads the update and updates your ipod. right now the servers are being hit hard and are so busy that you get messages like the ones you are getting. my suggestion is to try setting up the ipod late at night when there is not so much trafic requests for these servers
