my phone is offline can I still track it?

If it's turned off, has its sim card removed or not in wifi range, then you can't track it.

  • I Just had my i phone replaced today, can I get extended applecare to cover it?

My rear camera stopped working, so I booked a Genius Bar appointment to get it fixed for 10.1.14. Today, Apple very kindly replaced my i phone for a new one, I was extremely pleased with the fast and efficient service by Apple at Buchanan Street in Glasgow. I am just wondering, if I can get an extended Applecare for my new product in case the same happens again ? or how long it is guaranteed from when I have received it ?

    Hi
You can purchase additional applecare warranty (from the store that did the warranty repair if you wish) that will extend the 1 year warranty you got when you purchased the iphone in the first place. You need to do this anytime up to and including day 364 of that first year.
When you have have a warranty repair/replacement the warranty is only valid for that first year of if you've purchased additional appleware warranty, to the end of that additional warranty period.
For example: In the 4th month of the first year's warranty - you still have 8 months left - your iPhone needs repairing/replacing because of a problem that's covered by the warranty. You'd still only have 8 months left. In other words you don't get another 12 months on the 8 months you have left.
I think I've explained this correctly and HTH?

  • With my iPhone 5, when I delete a contact from my phone book, why can I still see it when I type in a name to select to text message?

If I delete a contact from my phone book, the number is still there when I go to type in a name to send a text message to, and is listed as 'other number'.
Can anyone please tell my why this is and how I can delete a number completely?
    Thanks.

Th einformation is stored in cache memory on the phone.  The only way to get rid of it is to restore the phone as new and you will lose data and settings.  Eventually the cache will be overwritten so just ignore it

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

Edit > Preferences.  Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.
Not sure that really answers your question though.

We need a bit more information to help.
Are you trying to update your iPhone using iTunes on your computer?  If so, did you make purchases through the iTunes Store or App Store on your iPhone, and fail to sync them with your computer?  That is the likely meaning of what you are seeing.  If this is true, the purchases would be added to iTunes in your computer before the upgrade proceeds.

If my phone service is disconnected, can I still use the number to iMessage? Under my setting in iMessages it only allows me to select my linked emails and the telephone number is there but grayed out and i can't seletect it ! It wont activate. I just recentely got AT&T.  When I had verizon before and my phone got disconnected it allowed me to still iMessage off my number.

If your phone service is disconnected, it's not your number any more.
If you "just got AT&T", how can it be disconnected?

I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

It doesn't sound like you "changed" your Apple ID, sounds like you created a new one. Bad idea. All content bought with an Apple ID is forever tied to that ID. The ID that bought the content is the only ID that can update the content. Apple does not merge IDs not does Apple transfer content from one ID to another.

  • When my husband and I first bought our iPhones, I was the only one with an Apple ID (since he never used iTunes). He used my apple id to get apps. Now he has his own ID, but my account keeps popping up on his phone. How can we change the ID on his phone?

When my husband and I first bought our iPhones, I was the only one with an Apple ID (since he never used iTunes). He used my apple id to get apps. Now he has his own ID, but my apple ID email address keeps popping up on his phone when he tries to download an app. We do not want to have all of the same apps on our phones. How can we change the ID on his phone? I already tried going to Settings>iTunes &App Store> and changing the Apple ID to his account email and that did not solve the problem. To make things worse, I recently changed my Apple ID email address (without getting a new ID) and I do not remember my old password (and this is the address that is popping up on his phone). He does not have any music on his phone and all of the Apps that he has are free.  Any help you could offer would be great (-:

All apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that bought them. To stop your id from popping up, you need to delete the apps on his phone, and then repurchase them under his account.

  • HT4061 I tried to install the newest iPhone update and it is forcing me to restore my Phone.  I have pictures from my childs birth that I don't want to loose, can I still save them?  I haven't restored it yet, but it wont't move from the "connect to iTune

Please, please PLEASE help.  I don't want to loose my pics of my sons birth and the newest update is directing me to restore my phone.  I can't get out of the "conect to itunes screen"  Can I still save my pics???

You should never update without importing your photos as you would with any digital camera.
The pics are very likely gone.
    Sorry.
You can try restoring from backup
