If SAP want to be masters of the Universe

I have been interested in SAP ERP and mySAP add ons for some time now. Reading a number of books. I know basically all of the buzz three letter words and so on. I also have a great understanding of where SAP has come from as well as where it wants to go. I have gotten to grips with the stack, and what it contains. However where does a newbie with no practical experience get on board this fantastic ship of technology.
I am based in LIverpool, England, which has just gained status as the European capital of culture. There is a lot of money being poured in to the city and masses of development, yet not many people even in businesses selling software have heard of SAP. We have one of the biggest University complexes on the earth, with young fresh people pouring out year after year, and there is nothing to offer them, regarding your wonderful technology.
I think if SAP want to be masters of the universe, you need to be known in the quietest corners, and the furthest reaches of it. There should be programmes offering work experience, so that they can see SAP in action and get to grips with its wonderful capabilities.
And as a final point anyone got any ideas on the best entry level into sap, I like developing and databases.

SD certification is 25 day course for 5 days a week & 5 weeks. The first four weeks is training & last week is dummy project.
It is recommended to do the course from Authorized SAP Training Partner. The course fees is high, but let me assure you that it is worth investing, as you will have a good career path.
During the course, we require to work for extended hours & practise on the system. Earlier part Time was available, but not now, as SAP has maintained control of the training server, which is available only from Monday to Friday.

Plz throw some light....
1. Now i can create the universe on the top of each bex query,but how to select 2 or more query in the singel universe itself.Because this leads to me to create lot of universe.

2. I dont have option to select the infocube..how i can select the infocube???only folder is there,when i click on it,bex query is there,but how to select the INFOCUBE??

3. In the particular folder(infocube) itself i cant find the all the bex query available...for eg:i have 20 bex query in SAP BW but i see only 5 querys in universe...

Is the SAP Inbox and the universal worklist on the portal linked ?

I am using the FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send emails to SAP inbox. This successfully sends emails. My question is whether these mails that I send to the SAP inbox will be seen at the universal worklist on the portal also.

If Universal Worklist is connected with your SAP inbox, then yes, you can see the work items in universal worklist also.

Many peoples says that BI , APO , BW and HANA are the highest paying modules.
But with the passage of time the value of the professional decreases because many people go work with this modules then ...supply and demand = decreases.
Only the people that really knows continue making lots of moneyand the characteristic of these people are the same:
They always read the SDN community of his modules.
They really study the sap help.
They do not want to make lots of money early on.

Hi Experts!
I am facing an issue and I have tried to do all the tips on answers of topics under same subject.
Once I enter on my report and refresh, it prompts me a message that I don't have acess on one or more data providers, asking me if I want to proceed ( ID : WIS_30286) then I click yes and run the refresh and it prompts me another message: The SAP SSP authentication will fail because the current user doesn't have an alias that matches system BIDCLNT100..
I checked the connection and tested, but the server not answers (SBO0001), on details I see the same message above.
This on PRD, because on DEV it works fine.

Hi,
for the first part where you don't access I would suggest you do an authorization trace to ensure that the user has all the necessary authorizations.
and on the second part - yes the user needs to have credentials for the system that you trying to access

SAP BI CKF,RKF descrptions are not reflecting in the universe

Dear Gurus,
I have couple of questions
1.I have created a BI quey with 2 calculated keyfigures and 2 Restricted keyfigures. When i am creating a universe on top of the BI query, Desrptions for Calculated and Restricted keyfigures are not reflecting in the universe, Rather the universe is showing UID(unique ID)'s of the CKF and RKF.
To get the descriptions into the universe, Do i need to do any settings?
2. In one of the documents I have read that we have to create one universe for one language if i want to see the report in Multiple languages. if it is so,
Do i need to create universe in each and every language or is there any option that i can create the universe in one language and replicate into the required languages?
Please help.

How can I convince SAP that I'm in the University Alliance?

My university has paid to be a member of the University Alliance. I was told that I had to sign up as a public user and post a message. Then somebody would reply and at that point SAP would realize that I am a member of the Alliance and I could sign up for courses. That seems like a needlessly complex and unfriendly process, but here we go.

I would like to add that once you get familiar with our University Alliances community and also the overall SAP Community Network of 1.8 million members, you will hopefully understand why there is the step of complexity. The SCN communities are voluntary, public networking 'portals'. We cannot and should not register you for a volunteer community.
The Collaboration Workspace for UA members-only provides materials that only those universities who are licensed to use our software for academic purposes would be able to use. We wanted to allow you to enter the CW through the UAC and to move between both environments. This is why we need the extra step to identify you also as a professor and not a student at your university. SAP AII v/s SAPConsole whtu00B4s the difference?

I'm getting started on this RF thing and I want to know what's the best option when someone needs to use a device (like a PDA or a barcode scanner) which one would be connected via RF with SAP by example to do materials inventory, I'm some kind of confused with the utility of both SAP's applications.

Naive question but here goes.
As a family we have one Apple ID. All devices are synced via my PC and backed up to it rather than to iCloud.
Books purchased via Kindle App appear on all the devices within the "cloud" option. How do I separate each reader's prefernce to their own device? I want to make sure that the younger one's dont have access to anything unsuitable.

You can have one AppleID for your purchases so that all teh devices can use all the apps without having to buy them again, and at the same time, have different iCloud accounts for each user so that their content is not intermingled with everyone else's. You can even go so far as to have your iCloud Account enabled for "Find my iPhone" for each of the other devices allowing you to keep track of where tehy are when they get misplaced.
If you need/want, you can share iCloud Calendars between different iCloud accounts as well. This is exactly what my wife & I have done. We share calendars so I know when she has classes or dog competitions, and she can see my work schedule so she knows what nights I have to be in late, etc.

jpg does not support Layers.
Just to make sure, what exactly do you mean by "stacking photos" and what do you want to achieve thereby?

Hello,
1)Check if the DB is running.Issue the following command @ the DB-level
db2 connect to <SID>.
2)Also check R3trans -d from the app. server and check for trans.log file for the error.

1. I have a combo box
2. It has text values that you can click
3. The text values have export values associated with it
4. When I click a text value from the list, I want to get the numeric value associated with it
Example combo box:
"Orange" has the export value of "1234"
When I click "orange" I want to get the export value "1234" and alert it to the screen
I'm using javascript, here's what I have so far:
In the combo box properties I have the following validation script:

I have a function in the document javascript:
function theFruitClicked()
app.alert(event.value);
This is alerting the text value not the export value.
What else should I do to get the export value?

If you only want the favicons and not the names of the bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar, you can do that with the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4072/ Smart Bookmarks Bar] add-on.
