I preordered a 32 GB black 4S for Sprint as well.  I did it a few days after the initial opening.  I too had a 31 Oct expected date on my receipt (not noticed until after I paid and left the store, no heads up or anything from the salesperson).  I didn't think it was a big deal because my wife was due 1 Nov, so I saw it as an opportunity to finally match up our dates.  I still have not heard when the phone will even be in.  In the meantime, I went ahead and ordered my wife's from Sprint on 1 Nov.  I got the expected "high demand item, will ship in up to 2 weeks" from Sprint. Again not a big deal since I STILL have no clue when the Best Buy order will come in.  Got an email notification from Sprint this morning that my wife's was on it's way, and it was here this afternoon!  It apparently had actually shipped yesterday.  Two days from order to doorstep!  I too have the trap of lots of gift cards and reward points so I am hanging in there.  This has been my first, and now last preorder from Best Buy.
I've read in other posts that the mobile folks make no money on this phone, just on the addons.  I suspect that has something to do with at least the local store employee's apathy to this whole debacle.  I also notice that for a national forum, there are relatively few posts if you consider the national impacts.  That tells me most people don't care, are too lazy to come on and post, or just cut their losses right away and ordered from other sources.  I'd be interested in seeing metrics on how many preorders were received by Best Buy, how many were filled, and how many were canceled.  That may help tell the whole story and will give an indication whether Best Buy really cares especially if that data shows it wasn't really that big of an impact to their bottom line.  America is notoriously forgetful, so after this outrage, attention will go back to Kim Kardashian, the elections, or whatever the latest craze is.  Best Buy is likely just going ride this storm out banking on that fact.

I'd say 99% people who ordered likely don't care effort to post on a message board, or even find the Best Buy forum.  For me, the phone was a gift for my daughters Oct 3rd birthday so I'm more motivated to find out what's going on.
I tend to buy retail stocks because I have a better understanding of the industry than others, plus it's much easier to see the companies in action by visiting the stores. 
I've always loved Best Buy, my defacto store for anything I could not eat, wear, hammer or drive.  But, they are definitely on a downward trend.  Their handling of the iPhone points to falling standards and vision. Not the lack of iPhones, but how they've treated the customer.  They don't think we'll leave.
Coupled with their failed online and digital initiatives, and out dated B&M business model, they will be in trouble soon.

    First make sure you have Home Sharing turned on. This won't work if you only have Library Sharing turned on. Read my post in the thread I've linked to below to learn the difference between Home Sharing, Library Sharing and how to enable them.

    Is there a way you can simply drop singles from downloads into itunes without disrupting layout, so you can say put some recently downloaded singles off the net into your own various  folder without messing up the whole neatness of all the other album covers by adding fifty plus single covers...
    ie. I just dropped a Naughty boy La la la single into my perfect looking iTune library and it does this...
    Adds it as an album cover with no pic, and even if I add a pic, it isn't an album anyways!
    I realise I can probably create and rename every single downloaded single to exactly the same info etc, but this is sooooooooo long winded!
    Please help! everything else works perfect apart from this!

    You have old computers authorized that you are no longer using more than likely.

To authorize or deauthorize a single computer, choose Authorize This Computer or Deauthorize This Computer from the Store menu.     You can then restart the authorization process with each current device.

    Someone on a different device only needs to sign with your iCloud ID and password in order to access your account, they don't need to answer any security questions if they have your credentials.  If you think this happened, you should change your iCloud password as explained here: iCloud: Change your iCloud password.  After you change the password, you will need to change it on your devices by going to Settings>iCloud>Account and entering the new password.

    - OK here is the scoop: I could not load some images on my 5th gen ipod and yet other images would load no problemo. Images were JPEG, jpg, PSD (all approved image types for the 5th gen ipod)
    - After doing several tests like restoring the software on the ipod, reinstalling itunes I still could not find the problem, then I noticed as soon as I would open an image in Photoshop CS2/CS3 that was otherwise loading on the ipod no problemo, when I would save that same image in Photoshop the image would not load in my ipod.
    - So after playing with several settings in Photoshop I found the problem:
    -In Photoshop go to File handling:
    -Image Previews:
    - And click on:Never Save
    You do not want to save a photo with a "Image Preview" when saving any file type that you want to load on your 5th gen ipod. it would seem the ipod will not accept any images with a "Image Preview" embedded into the file, JPEG, PSD, jpg etc.
    I hope this will help some of you because I just waisted a whole day to find this out the hard way.

    BTW I use a Mac Pro/Intel OSX Tiger 10.4.9

    Also I just found out when you are saving an image in Photoshop uncheck the " Embed Color Profile" box.
    So do not embed your images with a "Preview" and DO NOT embed a "Color Profile" when saving images in Photoshop or the images MAY not load on your ipod.

    Yes, you only have to make an icloud backup on your old phone and restore from that backup on your new phone. If everything goes well, you can safely restore your old phone.

    I don't think you can. But adjustments, if any, would be in the settings for date and time.

The software itself builds and compiles to give you a 100% stable jButton extended .class and .java files.. After that you can just use it on any of your projects.. I also figured a way to get those buttons to the netbeans palette. Check out the site for everything.. It's www.jleeker.simpler.at Well the software is still primitive.. But it does the work i suppose.. He he.. So check it out and let your friends in on it too.. Thank you..

    I am trying to use I tunes on my I phone for the first time.  I usually use my iiPod.   When I sign in it ask for my password which is no prob then it asks me to answer my security questions.  I can't remember the answers that I used.  Is there any way to log on and or get the answers to my security questions so that I can download some music?

    If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
    If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane  and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
    Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
    Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
    You should get an email reply within, I think, about 24 to 48 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox)

    Definitively false. Confessed, I would be very concerned in the case I knew that Apple is able to disable my computer remotely.
    Anyway, maybe a choice for upcoming models... so why wait till customers are deciding to buy a new computer when the manufacturer can force them
    Not sure if it is mentioned in the thread JDee provided... but it is a good idea to write down the serial number of the computer, so it can be identified later.

    Hello. One of the things Apple stands for, in my mind at least, is enabling a mobile digital lifestyle. This involves people moving around a lot and knowing no borders. Eventually, iTunes and App Store should facilitate these concepts, instead of impeding them. I am maintaining two separate Apple IDs so that I can access content in the two countries I am a dual citizen of. I currently find it very painful to manage both accounts on my MacOS and iOS devices, what with needing to sign off and then back on to switch between accounts.
    Also, I bought iTunes Match with one of my Apple IDs. And then I made a purchase on iTunes with my second Apple ID, only to discover I was locked out of iTunes Match for 90 days! Apparently, there is a silly clause in the agrements Apple makes us sign, that allows them to enforce such nonsense. This is a service I am paying for, what gives them the authority to essentially ban me from the service for 3 months?! Is this a way to reward a loyal customer who buys your products and services in two, instead of one, countries?
    I know how things work with IP agreements on multiple jurisdictions, but still, this is something that Apple, of all companies, should be able to fix.
    So I am calling for a way to integrate Apple IDs as the customer pleases, which will allow iTunes, App, iCloud, iTunes Match etc. content from various international Stores to be aggregated and accessible from all devices. Don't fight the Road Warrior Apple, you should be making their lives easier!

    FYI it is actually the record labels, movie studios, and various local governments you should be complaining to. They control the licensing rights and laws that Apple has to agree to and follow to run its various iTunes Stores. I actually agree with you but until the political will is there for the governments to change the laws the content rights owners will hold all the cards. So for the time being we're stuck with what we have.
