Iframe src-attribute fails in Safari 3.0.4

Hey there.
I have a page with a iframe tag. The src-attribute fails and renders about:blank instead of the given path. I have tried the same page in firefox, where it works just fine, so I don't think the problem is in the code, but in Safari.
The code that fails looks like this: <iframe src="http://google.com"></iframe>
- Emil

I solved the problem my self. The problem is that the prototype library is used like this:
Event.observe(window, 'load', function(){ initialize(); });
And this event apparently fires when the iframe loads. So moving the initialize function to the bottom of the page, and running it manually solved the problem of the initialize not firering.
But the src is still not showing as it shoud. Im working on solving it.

  • Safari doesn't recognize & encoded in iframe src

    I'm trying to render in an iframe a page that allows authentication to be sent as part of the URL, but I can't get Safari 4 Beta (10.5.7) to properly escape (or unescape) the '&' required to separate the parameters I'm passing as part of the URL. I've pasted two code snippets, neither of which work, but both work fine in Firefox. Can I change the code, is there better XHTML to be using?
    <iframe src="https://www.visualcoaching.com/login.ashx?user=[email protected]&pas sword=passwd&branding=off">
    <iframe src="https://www.visualcoaching.com/login.ashx?user=[email protected]&amp ;password=passwd&amp;branding=off">
    In both cases, I get the login page of the visualcoaching.com site, not the page I'm supposed to see after authenticating. When I check the page source in Safari I see both '&' and '& amp;' rendered as '& amp;' (without the space) in the iframe tag, which is not working when it comes to logging in. Any suggestions?

    There may be a problem with the banking website and not your system.
    For example Chase has had tons of problems with log ons or downloads using Safari even the newest versions and in both OS 10.3 and 10.4.x. Chase claims that they are not Safari compatible so I and other users had to resort to Netscape. This may not be your problem, but Chase and Apples. If this is the problem then it is clearly lousy support from Chase and your bank, as many other banking sites such as Wells Fargo, BofA and MBNA manage to play well with Safari!

  • Dynamic iframe src

    Is there a way to dynamically load the src attribute of an iframe component with a jsf session value? I have a jsf page with an iframe which points to another web site. This website can be different dependand on a session variable. I am currently using an outputlink to target the iframe but would like to eliminate the need to press the link . Here is my code below:
    <f:view>
    <html lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">
    <head>
    <meta content="no-cache" http-equiv="Cache-Control"/>
    <meta content="no-cache" http-equiv="Pragma"/>
    <title>web Title</title>
    <link href="resources/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
    </head>
    <body style="-rave-layout: grid">
    <div style="left: 0px; top: 0px; position: absolute">
    <jsp:directive.include file="header.jspf"/>
    </div>
    <h:form binding="#{web.form1}" id="form1">
    <h:outputLink binding="#{web.hyperlink1}" id="hyperlink1" style="left: 20px; top: 152px; position: absolute" target="t1" value="#{SessionBean1.webPath}">
    <h:outputText binding="#{web.hyperlink1Text}" id="hyperlink1Text" value="Press here to view images"/>
    </h:outputLink>
    <div style="height: 600px; left: 20px; top: 192px; position: absolute; width: 754px">
    <iframe frameborder="1" height="600px" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" name="t1" scrolling="yes" src="" escape="false"/>' width="750px"></iframe>
    </div>
    </h:form>
    </body>
    </html>
    </f:view>
    </jsp:root>
    What I would like is to populate the src of the iframe with "#{SessionBean1.webPath}" . Am I missing something extremely obvious?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes it's possible to load dynamically the src attribute. In fact the solution is almost simple.
    The problem is that iframe is a pure html component so it's impossible to bind src with backing bean's attribute.
    To resolve this pb you can use an outputText attribute which is binded with backing bean's attribute. This attribute could be filled with a string such as <iframe id="MyFrame" src="http://xxxxxx"></iframe>. On the other hand you have to unselect escape option of outputText to be sure that <iframe> string will be translated as a html string.
    The frame will be generated at runtime.

  • Flash Player keeps failing in safari

    I am using mac OS X Yosemite.
    For some unknown reason flash keeps failing in safari, but works in chrome. I can't seem to resolve this issue, This is what I tried so far from answers I received in the apple support forums:
    If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
    If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
    You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
    From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
    and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
    In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
              Delete All Site Data and Settings
    then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
    If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
    From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
    from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
    In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
    Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
    Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
    You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
    Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
    If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
    if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
    from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    We have also run diagnostics on my mac but could not resolve this and eventually I was told the only thing left to do is seek support from adobe.
    Please help!

    alright, also, I saw that in those instructions it tells me to delete these:
    <home directory>/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash\ Player
    <home directory>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash\ Player
    now I can't find any of that stuff but I did find two files called com.macromedia.Flash Player.plugin.sb
    in the library sub folders. should I delete them?

  • JSP iframe src = 'a file that is created by another JSP'  Error

    I have a JSP file that has an iframe into which, I want to load a .pdf file.
    Firstly, the iframe should contain nothing(and it does so), and when I press a button, another JSP is called, which creates a .pdf file and puts it in the WEB directory of the Application. After creating the .pdf, this JSP calls the first JSP, that now is supposed to load into the iframe the created .pdf.
    The .pdf is created corectly, but I believe that a synchronization is needed, so that the first JSP should not load the .pdf until the second doesn't finish writing it.
    I tried with delaying, but no success.And then I tried with synchronized(page){ }, but there are many possibilities instead of "page", and I came to no success.
    Here are my two JSPs:

    What are the links to google and apple doing there?

  • HTML img tag and src attribute as a byte[]

    Hi everybody
    I have a question is it possible to send a byte[] to the src attribute in a <img> HTML tag. What i would like to gain is a way of reading an img file from the jar in a custom tag which is no problem. Problems start when i want to send a byte[] which I have read from the InputStream to the StringBuffer which contains the HTML code.
    byte[] dataByte = null;

    InputStream in = imageURL.openStream(); //InputStream to the img file inside a jar
    StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();

    int data;
    while((data = in.read()) != -1)
    buffer.append(new Integer(data).toString(), charEncoding);
    imgData = buffer.toString();
    dataByte = imgData.getBytes();The problem starts in this line, i think i need some encoding to do this.

    Hi,
    I'm using a file catalog to display a small ifram of each file on one catalog page.
    I added '<iframe src="display_file?p_file_id='||nvl(file_catalog_id,0)||'" />' framepic
    and it displays a PDF in the iframe correctly IF there is only one file.
    If there are 2 files it shows the 1st ones details and then both the iframes in the same row...
    I'm new to iframes so any ideas?

    from FILE_CATALOG
    Thank you! Bill

    Also
    when I have pictures and use this instead of the iframe it displays a row of detail and the picture for each.
    '<img src="display_file?p_file_id='||nvl(file_catalog_id,0)||'" />' pic
    AND I have the development links to be able to edit the page as normal.

  • Backup failed - Bulk setting Spotlight attribute failed - Ideas?

    I just upgraded from 10.4.? to 10.5.4 primarily to use TM. This has been a disaster. I have never had this much trouble with an upgrade since the Mac Plus.
    Before the backup fails I get 200+ console messages like:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[294] Bulk setting Spotlight attributes failed.
    What does this mean and how can I fix the problem?
    From other posts, it seems that Spotlight and TM have some type of incompatibility, particularly on the first full backup. Spotlight indexing seems to create a problem for TM. I have yet to perform a successful backup.
    How do I temporarily turn Off Spotlight other than editing the hostconfig file? Should I include both my Backup Drive and my Boot drive in the Spotlight exclusion list, until I can get a successful backup?

    Yes,
    Before the backup I placed the TM Backup drive in the "Privacy" section of the Spotlight preferences. That did not seem to have an effect.
    The bad news is that at least for now, I am using the backup drive to hold data as well. By placing the drive in the Privacy section, I no longer can easily search the contents.

  • A 30GB incremental backup ("Bulk setting Spotlight attributes failed")

    Greetings all
    I have TM set only to back up my home account which lives on a separate hard drive. This is the only drive backed up by TM (the system drive is cloned using SuperDuper instead). The total size of the home account drive is 190GB.
    All day today, I have been working with images, creating roughly 1.5GB of new data. And TM has dutifully backed up this new data in a few incremental backups.
    This evening TM suddenly backed up 30GB of data, 9722 files, from the home account drive. I haven't touched anything on this drive, except my image folders.
    Is there any way to find out more precisely what was backed up so I can remove the duplicates from within TM?
    I've scoured Console and the TM Buddy widget for info on what was copied but can't find anything.
    I have looked in the backups.backupdb folder. The relevant folder with the time stamp of the big backup is listed in the Get info window as 4.5GB. Some other backup folders are listed as 180-190GB.
    One thing to note:
    The culprit incremental backup left 8 *"Bulk setting Spotlight attributes failed"* messages in the log. I have never seen these before. Of course, TM is excluded from Spotlight and has been so for a long time.
    I'm not running any virtualisation, Entourage or such. I haven't made any hardware changes recently.
    Thanks for any insight.

    You might want to download the TimeTracker app, from www.charlessoft.com.
    It shows most of the files saved by TM for each backup (excluding some hidden/system files, etc.).
    Thanks Pondini. TimeTracker is very helpful. It shows that what was backed up was just under half of my iTunes library. There's no rhyme or reason as to why the music of certain artists was backed up.
    I can only think this has to do with is the installation of iTunes update 8.1 which happened a few days prior to the big backup. I can't remember if I've used iTunes since. Maybe that made some change to the iTunes library so TM thinks certain music is new?
    That appears to be Spotlight and TM falling over each other. Try excluding your TM disk from Spotlight (System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy).
    Actually TM is always excluded from Spotlight. In fact, I remember verifying this before I cloned my system onto an external drive prior to installing the iTunes and Frontrow updates.
    I might simply start all over with TM.
    This reminds me of some thoughts on backup strategy I've had recently. Basically, I've been toying with the idea of using only one folder, for instance the Desktop, as the "active" folder into which I would put stuff I'm working on, which is mainly images and documents. TM could be set only to back up this folder in order to protect against accidental deletions.
    Once I'm done with a file, I would move it to the final archive area. Rather than using TM for that archive, I would be using SuperDuper's schedule function.
